They give the following reason, why Rutherford wanted to get rid of the beard: "This could give rise to a tendency toward creature worship, and Brother Rutherford wanted to prevent this." Creature worship..... I wish current JWs would ponder over that expression.. Especially the GB
"Creature worship" was Rutherfordspeak for "Russell loyalism", or in short a preference for the doctrines and practices people had signed up for when they actually joined the movement, as opposed to Rutherford having the right to warp the doctrines exactly as he darn well pleased. In Watchtower's version of history, any hesitance to go along with new ideas imposed from the top is always portrayed as a failure to "make progress" along with "God's organization", even if the religion over some decades changed almost out of recognition. In the end, very little remained of Rutherford's original doctrinal framework -- mainly "negative" doctrines like "we don't believe in the Trinity and immortal souls", plus a notion that the year 1914 was SOMEHOW prophetically important.
The book, " Bloodlines of the Illuminati " chapter the "Russell Family " describes how JF Rutherford had CT Russell poisoned and he died, in an attempt of a "hostile takeover " of Watchtower. Mabe "the beards" reminded Rutherford of Russell and the murder he committed.
It’s so sad that most JWs will not test the scriptures or look into prior literature of Watchtower. Simple example of the Watchtower deception is Matt 10:22.
