About 2 months I purchased my first combo from Academy (Kastking Sparticus II Plus and an H2O Express TAC 40). At 42 I'm just starting to learn about bass fishing. Figured with my retirement from the US Navy coming soon, I needed a hobby. Lol. Love watching all the content. It makes learning a lot easier knowing I can watch hours of Googan content.

Merrell's are my fav shoes for any outdoor activities! There super comfortable! Great vid Lojo! I don't know if I would ever spend that much on a spinning combo but it's definitely something new. Can't wait for the next vid!! The curly tail worm is another one of those throw it to catch anything style baits. You should do a challenge 1v1v1 with one person gets a lunker log, one person gets a mondo worm, and one person gets the Blazin Worm. For the record I think the Blazin Worm would slay the other 2. It's easily become my fav soft plastic.
I built a combo at Walmart and have been learning how to use the baitcaster. It's coming along. Looking to build another one Friday. Doubt it'll be the most expensive though. Live vicariously through y'all googans. Thanks for the content and your service 🙏
Casters can be hard to get used to. I hated em when I first used it. I used a spinning combo for the longest time. But, I finally gave in, and bought a couple. Now, I'm just used to them. Barely use my spinner combo now.
What i had a old timer tell me that helped me on a baitcaster. I switched to braided line. I forget the brand

Hey LoJo, if/when you decide to give away those high end reels, how about an "18 and under" entry limit. That would help a younger angler get an amazing reel that they might not have access to otherwise.

I like the dobyns rods, I have a fury and a champ xt and like them both. I also am a HUGE fan of Shimano reels. I'm a big fan of all of the SLX series... Great reals that are fairly budget friendly ish... The MGL and XT series are great. I'd like to have a curado dc, that's just not in the cards right now. I was actually in the background of one of your videos when you had ayo building your combo at academy and you got the orange all-star and SLX dc combo. Big fan, always keeping an eye out for y'all at academy and dicks. Keep up the good work

Just built my first combo a couple weeks ago. Got my inspo from you bro. Got a GoTo green series and a Shimano slx dc. I absolutely LOVE IT. So thanks man. But to answer your question, I think you and the guys should do a 2v2 challenge. One team use abu Garcia combos and the other use Lew’s combos
There is a word for what you’re doing in every video, it’s killing, you’re killing it man, every time. Reels are cool, but I think autographed swag would be awesome too, face it, yall are all stars with a massive fan base, and honestly the biggest reason fishing came back with vengeance and is going strong with the younger generations

They also don't seem to text very good English. They also post on anyone who posted a reply. Sad that people pull these scams. Sadly some fall for it. Never send anyone money over the internet unless you actually know the person or are buying something from a reputable site.

This was a weird video for me I just bought the exact setup, rod (Googan Finesse), reel (Vanford 4000XG) 3 days ago. As I was walking up to the counter to pay I was talking to the salesman he asked me about fishing and I told him I haven't fished in 15 years. He straight up told me well you picked everything right. In a similar vein to this, you could look at most expensive combo to put together yourself (choosing the rod then the reel) versus pre-set combos (where the rod and reel are already together). This could be done by individual store, or like this video, all together.
I bet people would enjoy a video of you getting all your tackle from all your places organized! Haha

Need to probably do a video on best tackle storage and organization. Since as you mentioned that each time you make purchases for best or cheapest or most expensive combos you end up having to also buy the terminal tackle and what not.

Watching your videos seeing you use a baitcaster made me go grab my very first one... It was from Dicks a Lews Carbon Fire reel and rod. Had to get the matching set. I freaking love it man love your vids too keep up the awesome fishing content. I don't know how I survived without a baitcaster for so long.

I have an Abu vengeance spinning rod with my Sahara 4000 and it’s a pretty solid rod, has no problem handling 7+lb hybrids. Usually Walmart at very least has an Abu black max or pro max baitcaster so I’m pretty surprised they were so bare.

This is kinda a lot but you should make a series to try to build the most expensive rod reel combo from each state and see which one is the best
I got a SLX 150 on a Duckett rod that is my favorite reel and rod combo. But the want for a DC is super high but can't justify it yet since the main reason to have one would be for the noise.
I wish the walmarts in Canada had nice beginner combos like the abu you got. I'd love to get a "cheaper" baitcaster combo to learn on and see if I will enjoy it. It's hard to even finding a baitcaster let alone a combo unless I got to the locally owned tackle shop and they only have the higher end ones. I know there is always amazon though. There's a suggestion, some sort of amazon challenge cheapest combo and most expensive. I loved when you did those ones. I know they a little harder to do and take more time to prep/record. Still would be cool
