Great video and thanks for not using text to voice narration. Any chance you created a video about installing RaspiOS then downgrading to core by uninstalling or deleting parts of the os GUI?? Thanks
Egee, if you are seeing the rainbow square in the corner of your display like that, it means your USB port that you are powering the Pi off of, is not providing quite enough power. Just an FYI, a lot of people do not know this. You need a 2.5amp USB charger/port for the pi 3.
Maybe it was just drawing extra power on boot up, the rainbow did go away :) I'm not clear on how it effects the pi if you run it on lower power.. I have done it with out any negative effects.
Okay I looked it up, it wont degrade performance, it means the system is running under voltage. If the CPU is being throttled then the box will change colors, yellow is for heat related throttling. If you got a starter kit, it probably did not come with the official raspberry pi power supply, but some third part version of it. I think (i've read by not verified it) you can check voltage at gpio pin 2. if it is under 5v then, that confirms the power supply is under voltage. Double check that though, because I have not tested it. here is a handy pin out chart of the gpio pinout.xyz/
There are hundreds of posts regarding the ssh login issue for Ubuntu Core throughout the internet with no clear explanation on how to fix it. Why would you skip that part?
Thanks for the great video. It was very useful for me, i was searching something to understand how to use core for Iot projects.this is the best video I have found . All the best regards and thanks

Hey so I have an ubuntu one account and have created a ssh key which is saved (verified it on ubuntu my account info) and after I put in my email it didn't automatically proceed like yours. it is telling me to login with my ssh name@address and then to personalize my account at login.ubuntu.com Any suggestions as to what to do? Hi, is there any video where difference b/w ubuntu core and ubuntu server and mate is there, I am a beginner for both raspberry and linux, whichone should I install. I want something for normal development, like local server. As from your video you told not to user core if working for server. Which one should i choose then MATE or SERVER
Hi, when I try to login using SSH it asking for password and wondering what it would be, I tried my UbuntuOne pass, key phase non of them worked. Cheers
Nagendra Rao Jogi It may be looking for your ssh key in ~/.ssh and not finding it. You shouldnt have to provide a password if you have the ssh key stored locally. Take a look at raspberrypi.org's documentation on "passwordless ssh access". You then need to take the ssh key from your ubuntu one account linked to the pi and place it in that "ssh key" file.
I went around the mullberry bush on this one, but it was my Ubuntu Gnome desktop interfering with my login that kept messing me up. I found the answer here: chrisjean.com/ubuntu-ssh-fix-for-agent-admitted-failure-to-sign-using-the-key/
you might be using your email instead of your user or you don't have your pub key installed on your ubuntu one account since if you have add it and have your pub key installed on the machine you're trying to remote ssh it would only ask for the key to open your pub key
Hey, you mention that if someone isn't able to setup their ubuntu one account then they shouldn't start with this. That's me. :) Can you suggest what I should start with? I picked core because I'm a little familiar with ubuntu. no other reason.
I flashed Ubuntu core version 20.04 but it didn't redirect to screen please enter to configure at very first stage itself , instead it open login screen. Please guide how to login username and password is available but login is unsuccessful
Hey Egee, I am currently installing Ubuntu Core in Rpi3 over a proxy network. I have done everything involving the account and the key in my client PC. On my first boot of Rpi, I am unable to connect to my id in the profile setup. Can you help me out?

It prompts Login as: I tried with user name(ubuntu account) and password. I got confused here. Which one I must use, there is no clear explanation about this. 1. What can I do with those host key finger prints? 2. I cannot see the pi is added to my ubuntu account.

Haha what the hell, its the USB charger that came with it. It was plugged into the wall. Was it making the Pi run slower than normal?

A small correction, regarding how many processes are running: Try running htop as sudo. It will show a number of system processes.

Just use regular Ubuntu for ARM procs. Ubuntu Mate is by far the most popular - ubuntu-mate.org/raspberry-pi/

Yes because Ubuntu Core has to connect to Ubuntu One. If it can't, it is unable to setup the initial user account.
is there a way to bypass all this so I can install it I could do all this once I am done installing
Hm, that part of being forced to have an account on canoical is dealbreaker so thanks for make sa e the time and hassle with this.
