I was confused in episode 1 why Piccolo would be small too because Piccolo Jr. was already fully grown at 3 years old. But he is now the nameless Namek plus Nail and both of them would be normal size 6 year olds.

Everybody seems to forget that Nail lived all his life with his tribe in Namek, he could know folklore about his people and Piccolo gained all that knowledge fusing with him, remember, Piccolo recognised Dende the first time they met without presentation because Nail was part of him now.
One thing i liked watching this episode is that they just made them look younger but except for goku the rest act almost the same way. Oh and btw the opening and ending lyrics are dedicated to toriyama, tori means bird and yama mountain. His name is even in the lyrics + the bird theme all around.

Overall, it's been 30+yrs and we know almost nothing about Mr popo. Where he's from, what he's capable of, etc. Most other animes, we know a little bit about each character we meet, but dragonball totally disregards a few characters. At least in the animations. Idk how much the manga details.

Note that, when asking the little devil (I forgot his name), Shenlong asks for details of the wish and with that, he made the little guy make 3 WISHES: 1_ Turn everyone into a child... 2_ at the age of 6... 3_ and turn those who are children into babies. THREE wishes! Maybe Shenlong knows Makai and the third eye, who knows.
Yeah makes no sense. Between Namek ark and this at least 12.5 years passed and Dende was maybe about 3. So not much younger than Gohan. He should be at leat 15 by now. I wonder if Gohan therefore also still counts as a child here and would be turned into a baby 😅
Dende was an adult in the Buu saga and Daima turned him back to a kid just so he could be a baby after the wish 😂😂😂 Just like Super, Daima is only canon to itself.
I'm not on board with the story yet as well, and especially with the whole "childs" concept that takes us back to GT! What will happen in terms of new forms? This is a whole new Saga! So there will be at least one new form! Will they remain children for the whole Saga? Can you imagine a Super Saiyan Purple (random color) while looking like this? Or a Super Saiyan 5? Interestingly enough in GT, Goku was able to transform from his kid version to adult SSJ4! But still it is weird for me! I hope we don't see Dragon Ball Diapers all the way to the end of the Saga!

That's what the Power Pole is called in Japanese. Power Pole isn't even an accurate translation. The Funimation dub of DBZ used "Nameks" as well. In Japanese they're just called the "people from Planet Namek (Namek-seijin)". Maybe you should learn a thing or two before you accuse someone else of ignorance.
Nyoibo was always the actual name of the power pole... And as far as I remember they were Nameks in the funimation dub as well. It definitely was always Nameks in japanese.
