I wonder, am I the only one noticing that the final tile layout (particularily with the blue cloth background) looks suspiciously like Greece? Clearly a Freudian Slip... Also - great job, Tom! I enjoyed this tremendously.
Very nice videos. You should probably review this one and add a few notes though. At around 10:00, you forgot a lot of stuff: you forgot one of your citizen working in the Ore Mine and as mentioned in your late note, you forgot to feed a lot of workers (28:45, 35:20 and 36:00 at least). Anyway, this was a wonderful playthrough! :
At timestamp 9:08, you have six farmers employed but I only see you owning four farms and no estates. How do you have this many farmers? did you forget toi exchange the farmers when you upgraded farms to flats?
Yeah... we tried to play Era 1 --> 3 and our brains were burned out just after Era 2 but I think this game really needs the Era 4 ending because it's in this Era that you get the buildings that can turn the defeat into a victory. Also... the game really can't be played solo no matter what they say: it is a very important strategy to book the tile you need and FORCE the others to pay the fee to you. This is where the Head Official comes into place. You did it all by yourself AND also took the camera... amazing. Too bad but I enjoyed your playthrough and actually it taught me the game BEFORE I got it so I was basically ready to teach it and start right away. Great playthrough/review, I bookmarked your Odin and Manhattan videos for the near future (but I'm just seeing Honshu so I'll start from that one right away). :-) If you have a crew, you should show a playthrough of XCom + Evolution Expansion. We're having a blast (6 defeats in a row lol) and while it lasts less than 1/4th of The Colonists we really come out of it in wrecks. If you've seen how it works you know why. :-)
The nature of the timed phase puts you in high stress. If you have to handle the choices of 2 players the further you go ahead, the harder it becomes to handle the abilities you get from the science division. It's a game that needs 4 players who know what they're doing and can handle time pressure so you need a crew of 4 with at least 4 games each and possibly switching roles, before you actually stand a chance. The expansion has made things considerably harder both at the resolution and at the timed phase because there's an extra layer in the decision making process. We are being destroyed and we're all expert players. I can barely cope as CO and the solo game is no longer an option.
I think you would of had more steam and maybe even gone to era 4, if you hadn’t been doing two player solo. Taxing enough playing your own game, never mind two.
"I feel like I have run out of steam for Marty" - my steam for both would probably have evaporated before part III!
I questioned my decision to go for one more Era quite quickly :D
I bet!
This was epic. Thank you!

All planned :D

Please tell me you saved the game and are going to do Era IV!!!
Sadly I didn't, the three Eras took a crazy amount of time to film

I've played the base game a couple of times and we got destroyed with only 2 players!

Tom, great job, I'm going to mention you on my list of top youtube gaming channels when I publish soon, fyi.
+Clumsy Dad thank you very much!

IV! IV! IV! IV! IV! IV! :-)
+Marlon Kruis it seems a shame I didn't do IV now, but by the time I did III my brain was fried :)
