When you were using the blowers, it even sounded like the Power Smart blower had more power. I am definitely a fan of the 40 volt Power Smart. Thanks for testing Andrew. Great review.
I once had a leaf blower and I used it for grass more than I ever did for leafs. I know you don't have snow in the south but they work good for blowing snow off a car as long as it's not wet snow.
Watching the track of Hurricane Ian. We could have used the rain in Texas, but it looks like it's heading straight for you guys. Check that generator! Prayers with you all over there!
Hi, Andrew! You continue to make excellent videos. This one will definitely be helpful for those in the market to buy a blower. I am praying for your safety as well as for Tiffany, Bullet, and Ruger. I pray Ian will not do damage to anything on your property.
Good review, thank you for taking the time. I own several mid-sized handheld blowers, both gas and battery powered, never use them. They absolutely destroy my elbow after about 10 minutes, and are either over or under powered depending on the job. If I'm blowing off a patio or other smooth surface, I use the Dewalt compact jobsite blower. If I'm blowing off grass, it's a Husqvarna backpack. If you absolutely must use an all-in-one blower then you're going to be working harder on both jobs, and may even find that you've wasted your money.
Good review video, the run time is my biggest dislike on the dewalt. I usely use two battery when I cut the lawn. But I did get it for free with a tool deal at home depot when I bought a hammer drill and 5am battery with charger for 99 and got a free tool.
Good job on the review. I've got the 60v Dewalt blower with a 9ah battery, and it will run for about 20 minutes wide open. You can fly a kite with it, but that battery takes a couple of hours to recharge on the charger I have.
Crazy thought... but if I were really blowing off the same fixed location, several times a day like you're saying... I'd consider getting a corded blower and just keeping it plugged in at that location, wouldn't be hard to hide a cord. No battery to worry about. I had to look this up to see if these existed, and surprised to see lots of good options that seem to have better prices than battery tools.
Hey Andrew thanks for the review. Now I have the smaller dewalt blower and I have compared it to a buddy’s large blower like you have. Yes the large blower moves more at a time but the smaller one will also move most anything the larger one does, but what I like about the smaller one using the 6 amp battery my little dewalt blower will run three to four time longer. So at the cost between the two it was a no brainer for me to go with the smaller one to use in my shop, garage and around the property.
To compare actual battery capacities, convert everything to watts. Amps X Volts = Watts 4 amp hours at 40 volts = 160 watt hours 6 amp hours at 20 volts = 120 watt hours if all other factors were equal the DeWalt should run 3/4 of the time the PowerSmart does but the number of charge/discharge cycles each battery has been through is a big factor, as well as "actual air output" as compared to "claimed air output" for both tools, plus a lot of other things. In the end, use whatever works out best for you.
Also depends on the Amps the blowers pull. An Amp hour (Ah) is the number of amps the battery will supply for one hour. Need to know how many Amps each tool is drawing.
I think a lot of this is like my dewalt string trimmer. After using it for about 5min, it draws so much current, it overheats the battery and turns off, wait 30-45min, and I can go again for another 5min. Using my dewalt 5ah battery. I switched to the 8ah 20v dewalt battery (self made version, $78 vs dewalt one for $170, using the same samsung 40T cells) and it will do my whole yard that used to take 3 cooldown periods and not get hot, or even be under half empty no problem. I think the 6ah dewalt battery is the same as the 5ah but even heats up quicker. Normally smaller ah ratings give you less overheating issues.
A friend and I this week compared our brand new DeWalt 20v and Milwaukee 36v (twin 18v batteries) and my daughter’s Husqvarna back-pack blowers on my yard full of leaves. The Milwaukee seemed to produce a slightly stronger blow than the DeWalt. The Husqvarna was easily twice as powerful as either battery powered blower in moving the deep leaves. There was not enough difference between the battery powered blowers to justify the cost difference (Milwaukee was more costly). Unfortunately, my daughter took her backpack blower home with her today (I had borrowed a week ago) and my front yard is again covered in leaves. I’ll see how many batteries I go thru in the DeWalt tomorrow.
I pretty much gave up on outdoor cordless tools. Dragging a cord around sucks, but never have to worry about charge or replacing expensive batteries. Although it's good to have both options. Thanks for the review! Good to see there are options with decent run times.
Milwaukee has the highest cfm & velocity. It can often be found on sale as a kit with a battery and charger. Usually the battery is an 8 or 12 Volt. If you buy the 12volt by itself it $299. The kit however can usually be found for as little as $219.
Great job on the review the tools are all about the same it's the battery's which makes the difference I would get the adapter so you can use a Milwaukee battery on your DeWalt and you will see Milwaukee batterys are far better and last longer
Thanks Andrew. I have the Worx 36 Volt and get around 20 Mins if I do not use the Turbo. I have you Guys in My thoughts as the Hurricane approaches Your area. Mike M.
Interesting comparison. I bought one of the big Dewalts last year. I swear, the balance on that thing gives me an elbow injury. Not sure I'm a fan overall.
I bought a cheap Harbor Freight blower, it is electric, but watching your comparison I rather have my cheaper electric one. I realize a battery powered is easier, and convenient. With mine I don't need a battery, or a charger and never will. It's all a matter of price foremost, it does plenty well for me. Each electric and battery have drawbacks for sure.
@@TKCL Just got to thinking about the internet situation while your dealing with the hurricane what you could do is run a Cat 6 Ethernet cable out to your Storm shelter as long as its not over 250 feet and power a Ubiquity 2.4 /5 Ghz wireless unit poe from your network. Just lay the cable across the yard for now heck cat 5e would work as well cable and crimpers aren't to bad if you got em..
It would probably work a lot better if it was a Milwaukee instead of some transformer bumblebee looking toy 😂 Just kidding. I love how people get all tribal about tools in cars and motorcycles and tractors and all of that. I do like the Milwaukee better but I wouldn’t pay to upgrade if I had the Dewalt which is better than what I have now which are Ryobi because they’re cheaper but have a good warranty😂
@@TKCL Yeah...they may be discontinued now....there was a string trimmer ,blower and chain saw...maybe hedge trimmer. I have 2 batteries for mine......no where near 20 minutes run time...that's really really good.

I've had great results with a Ryobi 40 v with turbo. I also have a Ryobi 18V which is no slouch either. Nice video as always.
I looked at the 18v one, but the cfm was quite a bit lower than my Dewalt.
18V and 20V are the same. Any manufacturer that uses "20V" is just using the max voltage instead of the nominal voltage.
My OCD was wigging out when you tossed dirt up on the porch.....😳😳😳
Lol you should see my puppy do it 😬

My 6ah 20v DeWalt doesn’t seem to get at all hot while using. My 5ah gets quite warm when used in the same blower. Both batteries are the same age.
Completely different cells in the 6ah vs the 5ah. That's why I now prefer the 6ah,i just bought two more.
Nice piece of information but, my question is how do the warranty packages compare?
2 year powersmart and 7 year limited Dewalt warranty. No idea how that applies being "limited".

I was thinking along that line if he wanted it for just the porch why not one that just plugs in.
Dragging a cord around multiple times a day with a puppy right behind me..... Naaaaa 🤣
