I used to love and hype Bauhaus. I still do. But when I discovered Tones on Tail I started to dig them A LOT!! And it was a shock to me to realize that Daniel was in both bands. Damn. Silly. . . LoL RUclips needs more Tones :D thank you for this gem ;)
I think I'm alone in thinking the Tones On Tails days rivaled the Bauhaus and Love & Rockets day, but it's so amazing I can just type "Tones and Tail interview" and find something like this.
Wow, all this cool Tot footage that I've never seen. I personally like Tot more than Bauhaus or Love and Rockets (big fan of both), which I realize is not a popular opinion, but honestly Pop is the best album Daniel Ash was ever involved with, with Rain being the best song.
I don't believe I have ever heard ANYTHING that sounded nearly as like the proto-type for every Marilyn Manson song as ToT's "Heartbreak Hotel". MM must have heard/seen this at some early-on point.

Wow amazing T.0.T video. ThanX for posting this rare video. I remember Tones-On-Tails. & The Music Machine & Goldenvoice. Good Times indeed

They were a solid band, quirky and dark, but a lot of fun. I hope you got to see PopTone when they toured a few years ago.
This poor tape has seen some better days, but I'm glad to see this!
Fast forward 35 years, Tones on Tail holds up better than Bauhaus and light years ahead of most bands of the day.
Nope Bauhaus way better
@@kevinmunday5782 sir, I beg to differ
I agree with you.
Damn Daniel got sassy 😂
Yes this is so cool!!! Thanks for uploading. Never seen this until now!

I hope you were able to catch the PopTone tour a few years ago… it was Daniel, Kevin, and Kevin’s daughter Diva on bass. They put on an amazing show!
I didn't, but my band-mate did. I have seen Bauhaus and Love and Rockets though.
WOW!!! This is great!! Very rare stuff!!

Manson has said he never heard Tones on tail
He did a live performance of Movement of Fear
This is completely the best shit ever! Certainly can't be much live video footage of TOT. do you have anymore? plz
sketchyhippie Unfortunately, this is the only clip I have... I'd love to see more of them live in the 80s too.
Justin Bieber interviewing Tones on Tail :d Nice.
Was "Love And Rockets" already planned or being worked on then?
I think at the time this was happening, David J had joined The Jazz Butcher. They formed L&R shortly after this, in 1985.
