Based from the test, I can say this device can handle all offline android games confortably (Pascal wager is one of the most intensive android games). But for online games such as Genshin, Aether gazer, I don't recommend using RP4pro as it's too hot and the performance kinda subpar...

Very surprised you didn't include Baldurs gate dark alliance. Excellent game and well worth the money. Very Excellent port.

Great video! One observation: I too thought the control didn't work for Honkai Star Rail, but it actually does!
You have to go into android Configuration -> Handheld Settings -> Input ->Controller Style, and change it from Retro to Xbox.
Then, once you're ingame, go to options and you'll be able to change from touch controls to Xbox style.

Hmm, it's strange then... I already use xbox layout. Did you do the test recently ? (after the firmware update ??), maybe they fix the problem after the firmware update. Thanks for the info though :).

@@Heldhandgaming Heyas sorry for the late reply.
I've just tested it and it works!
You need to enter the world and use your character (for some reason, the Settings menu at the "train main screen" does not allow to change the control layout), open your HSR Settings (via your character cellphone), and the bottom menu called "Others" should have a new option called "Switch Control Mode", allowing you to change from "Screen Mode" to "Controller Mode". Change it and the game will restart, allowing you to use the RP4 controls.
Now, it isn't 100% perfect, you might have to change the buttons layout to match the ones shown in-game; some puzzles must be done using the touchscreen, and also the Ults must be activated using the screen, but I'm otherwise quite happy with the result.

Does the android Final Fantasy VI Remastered really support gamepad detection? is it on the latest update or did you use mods? As I remembered, the android ver of FFVI Remastered doesn't support gamepad.

If you have a Android phone with SD8 gen 1 - SD8 gen 3 processor, consider getting a USB C controller for your phone. Performance will be better and you will save money. Likely you will have a better screen too.

The feel is simply different. That's what make others buy it. I know it's strange XD, but I simply lazy to use my phone for gaming (s24 ultra).

A RedMagic 9 Pro with a G8 Galileo feels better than my Retroid Pocket 4. The Retroid Pocket 4 feels cheap comparatively. Most budget handhelds do to be honest. The Odin 2 is one of the nicest android handhelds, but much more pricey than the RP4. I really like my Odin 2 but it doesn't get much playtime. I would agree that it takes a slight bit more work to download individual emulators on a phone. I am always on the go and I always have my phone so I prefer that for emulation on the go. It's faster than any android handheld and its convenient. When I'm at home I usually have a modded Switch in hand or my Desktop rig is feeding a monitor or TV. I get that all peoples needs are different though and my use case isn't typical. Honarable mention to the Steam Deck OLED, but far to bulky for me.

@@pohalsted8847bro phone don't have buttons also it cost more if you buy a Bluetooth controller that's needed Bluetooth to connect that also drains the phones battery even more

    • @pohalsted8847
      @pohalsted8847 6 месяцев назад

@@onepiece_96172 Why a bluetooth controller? I am referring to controllers you slide your phone in to and connect via USB C. I even mention USB C directly in the post you reply to. If you are not going to bother reading the post, then don't reply. I am only mentioning this as an option if you already have the phone and only need a USB C android controller.
Taki did a video on my exact setup. Nothing on the Android side is faster than this and the controller is USB C.

      it's different feel.
it is tedious to have to connect the controller, switch around apps and so on. also gaming on the thing you use for other stuff is kind of distracting as well.
having a dedicated handheld is just more convenient for some. ease of use.
