When grocery shopping in Cape Town, a woman was mugged right in front of us. Honestly, I'm surprised after how much we've travelled that we haven't seen one before. It was a very scary experience to see, I can't imagine if it actually happened to us. It was in the middle of the day with people all around. The woman was not physically harmed, and we do not know if they ever caught the man who attacked her. It was a wake up call for us though, since we always walk around with a camera, phones, and bags. Dangerous happenings are everywhere and not just in Cape Town, so we are definitely going to be more cautious of our surroundings.

We got settled in to our sweet as AirBnb apartment in the middle of Cape Town, then got lunch at Skinny Legs and some groceries for the week. We ended the day with our new favorite hike to the top of Lion's Head for the sunset!

@@pualaniproud Yes but if you enjoy the vlogs you would watch anyways. Having "Clickbait" titles shouldn't stop you from watching. Plus titles are superposed to spark interest about something that happens in the Vlog. Clickbait is when you trick people into watching a video which has misleading title or a thumbnail which has nothing to do with the videos. I was in Cape Town a year and a half ago and I was supper cautious about exploring on my own for my final 2 days. Glad I did as long as you are vigilant like I was taking Ubers everywhere I felt safe. However this video just demonstrates the bad side of South Africa that shouldn't put people off going.
Been watching for years. Quarantine 2020 gave me time to start at the beginning and introduce my husband to you guys. We haven't watched tv in weeks. Just Kara and Nate! Excited to see you get to my favorite!!! Lived in SA for 7 years. LOOOOOVE Cape Town!!!!!

Chelsea Clemons How does Kara holding her chest looking scared make someone presume anything without actually watching the video. Would you be scared if you were a woman who witnessed someone being robbed? Or just presume that your not in immediate danger. Clickbait is when someone creates a false title that states something happens in the video that really doesn’t just to get views. Whatever it was something happened in this video.
Even though this was a click bait-y title, it was amazing how many people ran to help the woman as soon as she began yelling! There are good people all over the world!!!
I’m watching this 5 years after I first subscribed. And wow Kara’s accent has really changed. Today she sounds less Tennessee. Also,the filming is soo different. 2022 vlogs are more slick. I love this.
Although this was an unfortunate thing that happened, I love seeing how most everybody cared so much and got involved on instinct.

As a South African, i would like to clarify that it is not like everyday is crime day, there are some places safer than others and as long as you know what you want, you are safe
I did the same hike... and yea, I literally thought I was gonna die... you're like at the edge of the mountain with no protection... once was enough for me never... and the cable cart was being repaired so had to hike down another 6 hours so a total of 12 hours of hike for me... not doing it anytime soon... oh and I love y'all vlogs...

I'm years late to this video, but my parents are from South Africa and it's one of my most favorite countries in the world. Also a very dangerous place, so I'm honestly not surprised you saw that. Happens often. I have loads of stories of dangerous experiences in SA.

The Owner of the Apartment Building I live in here in Auckland, New Zealand used to live in SA a few years ago with his wife. He told us how bad the crime is there, even in the more wealthier areas (Where he lived and was a Doctor there). LOTS of shootings, muggings etc. He said NEVER go out at night, unless you were either armed or had protection. It really is that bad there..

That really isn't true. Cape Town, South Africa in general is a stunning country however, just like a lot of other countries, you have to be vigilant. It is a 3rd world country and a lot of people are really struggling.

Cape Town is the only place that my wife and I have experienced a person trying to steal our iPhone. In Cape Town you gotta be on high alert and carry a knife if possible.

Nothing says welcome to South Africa then a mugging... When I was there I saw a car jacking at some traffic lights and I was 'pressured' into buying a packet of cigarettes for a police officer wielding a baton... but I had an awesome time!

Cape Town City centre is safe enough although it's never a good idea to wear expensive jewellery or hand bags etc but that applies to many major cities around the world as well. I've lived in Cape Town for over 50 years and never been mugged. I wouldn't live anywhere else.

I visited Cape Town for business in 2009 or 2010 and Climbed Lions Head (You brought back a ton of memories) and took the "Cable Car" to the top of Table Mountain! :) Loved every min of it! So jealous that you were able to climb Table mountain, I asked if it was possible, but everyone said to take the Cable Car. :) You guys are doing Great! I am enjoying your time in Argentina. If you get a chance go up about 3hrs North to Rosario, it is a great little city with a ton of culture. Enjoy and be safe! :)

Occasionally we use go pro session or canon 6d, but g7x daily. If you have an apple laptop, iMovie is free and a great start for video editing. Thanks for such a lovely video, I really enjoyed seeing your experience of Cape Town in 2016. My family emigrated to Cape Town back in 1975 & Loved it back then also. The views from Table Mountain are fantastic as you have seen. I am back in the UK now but I miss Africa as I was born out there.
