Yes over seeding and the 6 month renovations were just completed. Still rough around the edges. 4-6 weeks it will be pure! We just couldn't wait, weather was too good and we wanted to see the changes before the Farmers

Maybe it's me but Torrey Pines looks like crap. Conditions look pathetic. A friend of mine played there 2 months ago and he said it was awful. He spoke with some locals and they told him they only keep it pristine around tournament time.
This is shot when they stop watering the course and cut the grass. Right after the video they overseeded and punched the course. They filmed probably the worst day of the year in terms of conditions.
And yeah, it's "pristine" only in the Fall. Besides that the city doesn't allow for endless watering of the course because it's so much waste of water and money.
Alex Buyanin not sure why. I’ve seen 50 dollar a round golf courses much greener and nicer. Granted TP doesn’t charge 300 a round but I’m sure they’re getting well over 100 dollars a round. No reason not to keep a course that’s I’m sure packed most of the year, if not year around properly watered.
@@mikeylikesit3393 it's a public California course...not going to be okay if the city is dumping endless water and money into a golf course on tax payer money. They water it plenty year-round, it's actually green year round just not five inches of rough flush. If a private course wants to do that it's another story. You have to remember how far South San Diego is and how far we are from the Colorado River.
They had 5 months of renovations with all new irrigation, bunkers and a handful of changes around the greens, which was just finished a couple weeks ago. Spent millions on state of art system. Plus it's fall over seeding in all of San Diego. In 4 weeks it will be pure. We will be back to film later this year

For being as prestigious as this course is. It looks highly overrated.
Had major renovations for 5 months and in preparation of fall over seeding.
