I enjoy seeing how happy Bryson is when he and Jared are being punny together! Great dynamic between them and glad for another strong back for these bigger projects.
I've been watching you guys for like 6 or 7 years, and I think Gary's response of "okay" to "I broke the wall" is the most DAD moment I think I have ever seen him have.
It is always so good to watch y'all do a project together. The teamwork so always phenomenal and very inspiring!!! Watching Jared and Bryson and Dad working together feels and looks very much like Jared has been family forever!!! I'm so happy he and Bree found one another!!!
This was everything I needed after the last couple days I've had. Watching Jared being jostled whilst tamping was pretty good too👌😂 I feel like you planted the seed of the hoop barn and this new building will be what grows from it. 🤩❤ YES to the live feed 🙌
That's a mighty professional looking form/base/rebar setup. Looks like something you'd expect to see on a construction site where a licensed contractor is working. You guys really know what you're doing, and that's going to make the finished building a terrific product. For your time lapse images, I'd suggest picking one or two places around the site and building a semi-permanent mount of some kind. Maybe stick a post in the ground, or attach something to a roof, to allow you to pop the camera into the exact same place, pointing the exact same direction, to get daily photos of the build and create a time-lapse of the whole build. My company did that a few years ago when they built our new offices; they mounted a webcam on a neighboring building so we could look at a time-lapse any time we wanted throughout the whole build. The finished time-lapse was really cool to watch. I think with all your build experience, you might also consider whipping up some outfeed rollers for your table saw, to help when you're cutting large pieces. There are lots of RUclips vids with great designs for portable, adjustable outfeed rollers, and they can usually be made in an hour or two with scrap materials that you already have on hand. They'd really come in handy, especially when you need to cut eight-foot sheets of plywood, which you know you'll be doing a lot as the build progresses.
2:35 Bullet's stick got stolen by the little guy. 6:55 Mini Chip (Salsa) was so darn cute! He was one of the big boys playing with the stick he probably stole from Bullet. So funny to see.
The positivity you guys spread amongst each other is incredible. Life is too short to not be your own person and you guys support one another in every endeavor 100%!! I’ve just discovered your channel and it’s definitely been a wonderful experience meeting your family
Great episode. Yes, do live stream the concrete placement (if they pour it, it's to much water). As an old concrete guy, it will be fun to see all of the new methods. Take care everyone and have a good weekend.
9:25 the stomping fit 😂😆😂😆. I laughed but uh I saw myself in the meltdown too 😃🤣😃🤣 smart idea to rent the machine. Question. Do u guys have any teeth left 😂 looks like the machine might have shaken them out.
T-shirt! "Don't TAMPER with me"... Holly guacamole! Sent this before the end! You like me! You really like me! Lol. The shirt looks amaizing Brie. You are such a great artist and I'm honored you liked my idea!
This has been so fun to watch! Can’t wait to see the cement going in! This oval form is very pleasing to the eye. And it comes with a tiny piece of the Hoop Barn? Hoop Shop? Hoop Building? I can’t remember no what it was called. Looks great though.
i just found you guys and wow i have to say this is how i want to live with my small family , any hinter on where and how to start, right now we are living in a bus and trailer next to my dads house, but i want something more for my wife and my daughter and myself, any help would be great, once again thank you for showing me my dream can come true to live just like you and your family do.... ps i can't believe 13 years of video you have i will be up all weekend lol
There is Tiny Shiny Home (TSH) YT channel too and they know MLH and they are building with hyperadobe bags that are different from earth bags, They get filled with dirt like earth bags but there is no need for barbed wire between the courses of bags and the bags are UV resistant so the sun doesn't destroy them as fast. I just thought you'd like to know about another way to build with dirt. I don't know where you are but the Arizona desert makes this a good way to build.
I hope you know this. The rebar has to be lifted up off the ground. It has to be in the slab, not below it. Chances are , the crew pouring the slab will know and take care of that.
you hope they know it but usually they try and pull it up after the fact because they hate walking in the raised rebar. typical it a 2" clearance also rebar is flexural strength.....
Great job guys.. As for the bathroom wall that got hit and moved accidentally by Bryson, you can simply fill the bricks of that corner with concrete and it will make even stronger then it was originally 😉😉
Years ago, not telling my age. I actually operator one of those gas power ground packers, only we called them Wackey packers. Because you would be wackey after operating one.
That tamper that you used looked like a big boot. Weird looking! It looks really good. Time for concrete! I loved the timecapsules that got buried under there. Jared, Bryson and Gary make such a good crew to get this really for a foundation. Too bad you broke the wall Bryson.
At the start of the video I was concerned because the anchor stakes were on the wrong side, but later I see they were fixed. Good use of the wood anchor extensions where the old foundation is. You will want to raise the rebar off the gravel by a couple inches to get the strength from it. They sell concrete squares for that.
If you are concerned about the cinderblock wall you could place a couple pieces of rebar in some of the voids and then fill with cement. I wouldn't think you need to fill all of them just a couple.
all the rebar I've ever watched being installed is up on a spacer at each joint, so where ever the rebar crosses the other rebar there should be a little spacer so as to elevate the rebar into the middle of whatever concrete you pore. That leaves a little space between the dirt and the rebar which would be about 1/2 way in the middle of the concrete. I know i'm about as clear as mud but I hope you get the idea before the cement trucks get there. I love your projects
You can pour some concrete in the top of the bricks that don't have any that'll superior it up but it may take a lot of motor concrete whatever you put in but you can pour some down in the top of those bricks that moved and see if it goes down into the other bricks in this kind of shore him up that way
Awesome progress! How are Garen(sp?) and Ellie doing? Are they taking a break? Will you guys update the ending family picture to include the new additions? Just curious. Stay well and many blessings!
If you want to save that broken block wall, without relaying it, I'd stab some rebar into like every third hole, block cell, and fill the cells with grout. Cut your bar so it comes within a couple of inches from the top, some may end up shorter if the bar is obstructed from going clear to the bottom. Keep your bar all next to the hole it goes in if you end up with different lengths. For grout you should be able to use ready mix, Quick-krete or something where the aggregate (rocks) aren't too big. Poor each cell, then put in rebar, shaking and plunging to make sure cell fills. Keep your grout kind of wet - not soup, but thick gravey. You may check for level and plumb of the wall first and if you think it needs fudged a little put a few shims in the crack first. On the other cells without bar, you could either just pour them full too or wad some paper to plug the holes and push it in tight a ways below the crack and fill those to 8" or 10" above the crack or fill it to the top. If you have extra cut off short scraps of bar, throw them out here across crack. You don't need to worry about the holes between rebar for structural, 95% of the strength in a block wall comes from rebar and grout, I just added the second part of these instructions to fix the crack to stop light and/or water. When you're all done, I'd stucco or at least paint it with heavy block filler primer to make the crack disappear.
also could surface bond it the whole face...works with dry stack, don’t see how having mortar will hurt it. Do use mesh or hw cloth in the surface coat...
@@killcrazyvegan Yea, that would probably hold it, you could probably even phony stone it to look cool if it' just to be a free wall. I'd still stab at least the corners with some bar, and fill em with grout, especially if any of it is going to be structural - I'd put all the overkill on it I could while I was already there working on it if any of it is structural.
I love watching you guys constructing your projects, it’s so satisfying and entertaining. I have a question for the podscast, what do you guys do in your “down time”, do you hang out as a family? Play board games? Watch TV series or movies? I’m just curious about what y’all do to relax 😄
If the wall is center block and it hasn’t been filled with concrete yet to strengthen it you can fill the holes with concrete and revar so it doesn’t level and won’t come down as easy again
Tamper tantrum. Looks lovely guys, I haven’t watched in a while as I broke up with my partner for 9 years and all the ladies getting married triggered me. So took me a while to come back. This is awesome as it was just fun and peaceful.
Depends on how they build the walls. If it is earth bags, then based on paste performance, my guess is a trench around the outer rim of the foundation at least that deep. Only a guess.
A little off topic, but I wanted to ask. A few years back, before the aquaponics project, there was talk about a possible walipini (partial underground greenhouse). Spring is coming soon, is this still an idea? I'd love to see your take on a project like that.
Hey n did they ever reveal mom's finished bedroom n bathroom. Might be a good valentine episode. She sure does deserve the BEST. She seems to be the glue to the entire family

They are going to build the walls with earth bags and they do really well when they are stacked in a rounded wall rather than a square wall. I think they'll put the bags right along the edges of the concrete slab they are going to have poured. I'm not sure where they are going to put entrances. I'll be fun to watch it get built.
Hey guys, does it get cold enough to need heat in that new building? Also cooling. Did you think about putting heat pex tubing in the floor? Is it too late? If you want any advice just ask. BTW it real easy to do before the concrete is in place. You can also use to cool the building.
I enjoy seeing how happy Bryson is when he and Jared are being punny together! Great dynamic between them and glad for another strong back for these bigger projects.
Totally agree. They seem to work well together. Bryson's Dick Van Dyke humor keeps my family in stitches lol 😂😆😂
I've been watching you guys for like 6 or 7 years, and I think Gary's response of "okay" to "I broke the wall" is the most DAD moment I think I have ever seen him have.
Yes. He is an amazing dad.
For your cracked wall: drop some long rebar in each or ever other hole then then fill with cement.
Oh my ❤! Bullet's eyes waiting for the guys to toss his "non" stick. It broke my heart.
It is always so good to watch y'all do a project together. The teamwork so always phenomenal and very inspiring!!! Watching Jared and Bryson and Dad working together feels and looks very much like Jared has been family forever!!! I'm so happy he and Bree found one another!!!

Nice to see foundation ready for concrete great work by all and not forgetting bullet placement of stick to throw
"That's a problem for future us." Gotta remember that one. Good advice.
I love how consistently bullet is right in the mix trying to help out. As much as I love the whole family I enjoy watching the pups.
I appreciate a man who's consistent and knows what he wants. I adore Bullet.
@@carterribbible yes. Absolutely I agree
Bullet is amassing a huge following! I try not to be sucked in. But I see him on screen and I HAVE TO WATCH HIM! My free will has been taken away. Lol
I love the puppy's to .I miss that happy , curious dog energy.
I whole heartily agree. Salsa I think is going to be another one.
My favourite comedy slot of the week with my 3 favourite comedians as they build one of the 'great wonders of the mylittlehomestead world' - THE SHOP!
I love watching you guys. Wish that your video's were longer. Thanks for showing us your way of living and building. Stay safe and God bless.
Impressive indeed - Family has grown, so has the work load and approaches.

Re the "busted" wall. You may be able to repair it by core filling, along with rebar, some of the bricks,
Looks like it's going to be a very cool 😎 work shop, love the shape of the floor, 😊👍💕💕💕

The wall that you almost knocked over stick rebar and concrete through each cell to strengthen it.

You got to how’s the rebar off the ground a little pedestals so concrete will be underneath and above the rebar to make it work efficiently👍🏽😊🤙🏽

So do you not need a footing along the perimeter? In Oklahoma we have to have 18” minimum footing because that’s the frost depth.
Depends on how they build the walls. If it is earth bags, then based on paste performance, my guess is a trench around the outer rim of the foundation at least that deep. Only a guess.

It is going to be huge... wow. Today 2/7 is my booboo's (Midnight) 12th birthday.
