One of my earliest memories in life was making an audio reel-to-reel tape recording at age 3, singing “The Wise Man built his house upon the Rock.” I then talked and talked until my parents mercifully turned the recorder off once I resorted to wriggling my ears for my imaginary audience. Little did I know then that I was preaching Psalm 129 and Matthew 7: 24-27, heralding a life proclaiming scripture through music. And this parable still teaches us that a quality foundation, a quality builder, and quality materials are needed whether one is building a house or a faith life.
