I love my home state and its history. So many places I want to go see, but my age & health have got me now. These videos are appreciated more than you know.

Blandford is one of the places I hope to visit in May. My ancestor John Herbert has a tombstone there that used to be readable but evidently has to be charcoaled to see now. He died in 1704 and was initially buried on his plantation “Puddledock” but the tombstone was moved to the churchyard at a later date.

Theres a road near me called puddledock road. I believe thats where Puddledock Plantation was. The church is getting new doors hopefully soon. We are raising money to help with the costs.

@@steveriggan8944 it's a beautiful town. It has its issues but blandford is a cool church. I go often and we do an xmas gathering there with my reenactment group. The doors we are raising money for are 15k in cost to be period accurate. I hope you get to go. The cemetery has some old stones. I'll try and find your ancestors grave.

@@Imachowderhead I know that the tombstone is near the building but not sure which side. I think it was near a door from pictures I’ve seen.

Awfully sad the interior is deteriorating. Last time many years ago I was in there the plaster was intact.

At 5:30 you passed John Herbert’s tombstone! Talking about George Whitfield during that time. The tombstone has the top right corner is broken off.
