Today we're going to be working on a Ford KA 2012 seat belt stuck, where i removed the seat belt re-tractor finding the inertia ball bearing and cup covered in a heavy layer of dust and lint keeping the seat belt locked at all times, i apologise in advance for losing some of the footage from this job where i felt necessary to go and get another couple re-tractor from a scrap yard and take it apart to show what goes on in the mechanism where the inertia ball bearing lives thanks again i hope you enjoy the video and find it helpful/informative , and if you do... make sure to subscribe like it and comment below cheers

Followed your instructions in this video today and now my seatbelt is working perfectly. thank you so much buddy.
Same problem with 2012 Fiesta that has been going on for three years or more. Generally ok during winter months but as soon as the temperature rises the passenger side gets stuck. Normally janking on the belt and gradually feeding a piece of belt out then janking again gets it going again however having happened again this week did a search found this video followed the instructions dismantling it cleaned, added a bit of oil to the spindle of the cup that holds the ball bearing, reassembled all is working fine atm.
This has saved me money on my car. Fixed my Kia seatbelt by this tutorial.

Thanks. Mine is stuck. I saw a bid where the guy threw the ball away, but that did not look like a repair to me!

When refitting the belt to the car body check that you have not introduced a twist in the belt. I got the trim panels back on before I realised I had so had to disassemble again. 🙄

teme jumbo hello mate, you will need a scan tool able to clear srs dtc’s, but unfortunately it will not clear if you have any present codes, the most common problems are the connectors underneath the front seats sometimes they get kicked by passengers try to unplug them and plug it back in also another common issue is the clock spring...but you will need a scanner to identify where the problem lies... I’ve sent you some plus some sweeties it’s a shame it didn’t get to you I wonder if it got stopped at customs, I’ll send you some tomorrow without the sweeties 👍👍👍
Not actually why that ball is there. I used to think it engaged in the event of collision but the seat bell tensioner locks up anyway and by different means?

What happens if i remove the ball and didn't put it back!?
Mohamed Yassin depending in what system you have if you remove the ball the seat belt won’t lock ....
