Can you imagine if you were chilling in 2001 playing banjo kazooie and somone showed you this rom hack... It wouldn't make any sense to you at all lol.
First you'd be excited -- no way that's really Banjo! It is?? Your mind would cave in trying to guess what lore-based reason that everything was so stylized.
Then you'd have denial. Wow, this game IS cool! There's definitely some kind of artistic cohesion here, but I sure hope they explain to me what all the cubes are about..!

Huh it's weird that the quality of writing has uh... Dipped? Nobody is talking like themselves, but the base text is still present for things like power ups.
Also are they just reusing assets from the first game, when Tooie already released this year (2001) and we've seen the new engine? Also will anyone explain what these cubes are about??
Personally I would think this is like... A placeholder beta? Like that this is what they programmed OG BK as before they finalized their art. But I wouldn't be able to explain all the text references to "you already know your moves"
It looks really good, and that's kind of the problem. It makes the inconsistencies stand out a lot more. For instance, the berry bushes near the beginning are flat 2D sprites that don't billboard. The original ones are still non-billboarding 2D sprites, but there are two of them in an X pattern. Same with the crops in the farm area. Everything else looks great, but it just makes me wonder why they didn't do the plants properly.
And before anybody mentions the sloped roofs, I can overlook that one easier because I pretty much always use at least a Carpenter's Block mod to add 45 degree angles to things I build. Personally, I kind of prefer 8-directional surfaces over strictly 4. Same with the hexagonal tree trunks and cacti.
Looks like Abandoned Mines is the kind of level you need to make a map for.

@@isaaczb7534 La rom que tienes que usar es "Banjo-Kazooie (U) [!].z64". Y en este webpatcher la puedes parchear hack64.net/tools/patcher.php pruebalo y ya me dices
