This is the theme for anyone who was ever counted out, not taken seriously, underestimated, underdogged, glossed over, sneered at, joked about, beaten, knocked down, cheated, picked to go last or not picked at all. For the person who never gave up, never gave in, held on, held out, hoped, prayed, kept their dignity and didn't allow adversity to change the goodness of their heart. Everytime you fight you preserve the best part of yourself, and your soul remains unconquerable.
@Tristan Harley Killing 2 out of 3 of his attackers and surviving a mob after his blood was his personal trial. His persistence came from pressing the forward assist so he could shoot one more pedo and get out of there. And like Rocky he had to run.

This reminds me of the scene in the first Creed movie where Rocky says to Adonis Creed the toughest opponent you'll ever fight is the guy you see in the mirror.
"I can't beat him. But it really don't matter if I lose this fight. It really don't matter if this guy opens my head either. Cause all I wanna do is go the distance. Nobody's ever gone the distance with Creed, and if I can go that distance, and that bell rings and I'm still standing - I'm gonna know for the first time in my life, that I weren't just another bum from the neighborhood." - Rocky Balboa, 1976

I ran my first marathon 2 days ago. Everything was going great until mile 16 where I started hurting immensely. I had never been in so much pain before. I normally don't listen to music when I run but I thought of this song when I was sitting there with my legs hurting like they never have before. I got back up and started playing this song and it reminded me of everything hard that led me to this point. I went back and started running again at my previous pace for another 6 miles until I fell on grass and all the pain settled back in. At this point my phone was nearly dead and I hobbled or lightly jogged the rest of the race until the last mile where I ignored the pain and went on a full on sprint to the finish line. My time was well over what I initially wanted it to be but I was so happy that I finished. This song is for anyone who has been knocked down repeatedly but still got back up despite what the majority of people thought negatively of them. For that reason, this song shall forever hold a place in my mind when overcoming any of the obstacles of life.
Unbelievable emotional power this track has. It’s a sleeping giant. Other than John Williams’ work, in my opinion, Bill Conti managed to put together the greatest movie soundtrack ever with Rocky. Mind blowing.
That scene was filmed on a Sunday morning in the summer of 2006 between 20th-21st on Walnut around 5:30 a.m. I went to get the 21 bus at 20th and Walnut and the whole street was blocked off, so I just walked.

I still come back to these videos when I’m not myself and it helps me to become optimistic. If anyone is reading this I would like to wish you happiness and success in your life.
I don't understand why Gotta Fly Now gets all the press and this gets so little by comparison. This piece is at the very heart and soul of what it means to be Rocky. The moment of truth, the conflict, the struggle, the resolve, the pain, the tragedy, and overcoming it all like a champ all in time to be ready to face the bell for the next round with that same unyielding will.
I totally agree with you, when I hear this, I see myself running into the ring against the most impossible of odds and coming out victorious! One of the greatest themes ever!

Rocky is a movie about an underdog’s defeated spirit striving for a chance at greatness with all his heart, sweat, and tears. This music beautifully conveys those sentiments. It gives me goosebumps.
Bill Conti's approach to making the music is he is making a theme for a loser (he said he read the script beforehand and knows Rocky will lose) but he still instilled hope and optimism through the piece, its not about winning, its about making it to the end. Im glad he composed the soundtrack for this movie, he captured it so well.
@@gianni3445 That's correct. It's amazing how only a few know that it isn't an original composition (I've recently learned about that myself), probably because the composer didn't sue Bill Conti.

Great point. Movie scores & soundtracks are undersold in our culture. Great art is about bringing a person to a new spiritual crescendo. And nothing does that better than Bill Contis music. Ofcourse the art snubs would laugh at us. Because they want art to be unknowable. So the elite can explain it to us ruffians.
@G D These are very iconic moments in boxing. When a big puncher landed a great punch and believes in his heart he KO`ed the other man but when the other guy got up. For example, Ernie Shavers landed a crushing right hand to Holmes and send him to canvas but Holmes got up and when he got up Shavers`es look is that iconic look.
Rocky Balboa to his son: "Let me tell you something you already know. The world ain’t all sunshine and rainbows. It’s a very mean and nasty place and I don’t care how tough you are it will beat you to your knees and keep you there permanently if you let it. You, me, or nobody is gonna hit as hard as life. But it ain’t about how hard ya hit. It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward. How much you can take and keep moving forward. That’s how winning is done! Now if you know what you’re worth then go out and get what you’re worth. But ya gotta be willing to take the hits, and not pointing fingers saying you ain’t where you wanna be because of him, or her, or anybody! Cowards do that and that ain’t you! You’re better than that! I’m always gonna love you no matter what. No matter what happens. You’re my son and you’re my blood. You’re the best thing in my life. it is simply the greatest, most iconic, most inspiring, most epic piece of cinematic music EVER CREATED!!!!! Gonna Fly Now to me, is the one, after achieving your goal. but this song is the one that gets you started!!!!
This is the real Rocky theme. Gonna Fly Now is optimism, while this is pure grit and will of steel, specially the beginning, and 0:41, this is the song that played when Rocky got up and made Apollo doubt himself.
This song doesn’t belong to the powerful or the people are in situations where they have to do nothing, nah it belongs to those with an unbreakable will, doubts, and troubles. To people that are true underdogs that refuse to give up. It’s these people, that I can truly say I forever respect.
Creed: "I can't beat him" Creed (rematch) : "Win" Lang: "I'm afraid" Drago: "To beat me he'll have to kill me" Tommy: "My ring is outside" Dixon: "It's not over until It's over" Rocky has gone the distance always
This song stands right along the movie. The beginning, the struggling under dog, a two bit club fighter who realizes he’s going into the ring with the champ a believes he doesn’t have a chance. Then we start to here a little more up beat tone, maybe he does have a chance. Then the song moves into full victory. What a great score. Nobody ever rooted for a movie character the way they did for Rocky.
I have always been underestimated, counted out, and the underdog in wrestling. I lost every match but never gave up I would go home and train till I collapsed. I watched matches, dieted, and pushed beyond what I thought my body was capable. The following season I became a valley champ and was able to compete with some of the best wrestlers in the state. Even then I had no coach in my corner ranked at the bottom of the bracket. I battled my way to 9th place out of 36. I give my thanks to this song

Hory sheet beware of Matt! The Foodstamp legend!! THE SHEER DEDICATION OF THIS MAN TO DENY ANY FOOD OF THE STAMPS

@@darkcarnival6656 Oh, coming back to this video months later realizing my typo, meant to be 2020.
@@MattDoesLife539 You got hit, and you kept moving forward. Good on you!
Greatest build up in a song ever.
Swarfly Yeah Lawler was great....
Captures the essence of the unbreakable will of man.
When I ran my first 10k run I listened to this on repeat, and I get goosebumps every time I hear it.
This song doesn’t belong to the powerful or the people are in situations where they have to do nothing, nah it belongs to those with an unbreakable will, doubts, and troubles. To people that are true underdogs that refuse to give up. It’s these people, that I can truly say I forever respect.
💪🏻
thanks man appreciate it :]
The people that become the powerful were the underdogs
Is it normal that i cry every time i listen to this masterpiece?!?!
I hope I never stop crying when I hear it.
It isn't
You would've been crying for the rest of your life
it's abnormal not to!
Very Normal
Yes it's normal! 39 year old here
Creed: "I can't beat him"
Creed (rematch) : "Win"
Lang: "I'm afraid"
Drago: "To beat me he'll have to kill me"
Tommy: "My ring is outside"
Dixon: "It's not over until It's over"
Rocky has gone the distance always
That's a underrated comment.

Yup.
Adoro esta composición. A pesar de que lo he escuchado muchas veces, nunca deja de emosionarme. Gracias Bill Conti
This song will always have a special place in my heart.
무슨 말이 더 필요하겠는가!

This Song is in my DNA, in my Soul. It motivates me every time, when I listen to it..🙏
Absolutely ☺ !!!!!
Every time I feel like giving up, I listen to this and it gives me new energy from within.
One of the most brilliant scores ever composed!
It ain’t about how hard you hit
It’s about how hard you can get hit and keep moving forward
How much you can take and keep moving forward
THAT’S HOW WINNING IS DONE!
- Rocky Balboa
James Reid tell that to Drago, he seemed to forget
This song brings tears to my eyes after every workout. I love it
DJMondo21 And during dj sets?
I literally listen to this right before I'm about to take on any real challenge. When it's going to be me vs. them. Military PT test, job interview, professional exam, whatever. The most motivational song ever.
A masterpiece
The whole music is a climax, from the get go to the end.
1:12 is my favorite part. Those violins chiming in are like desperate cries that signify determination and will...
Rocky forever.
I know right
This song helps me get through some days when I'm working 12 hours. I'm self employed so I need to motivate myself through the good days and bad days.
Man, I really hope everything works fine for you and wish you all the best in your career!
@@DonMarkoTheOne Thanks for the well wishes Marko. Business is going pretty good. Got rough for a few months due to Covid but back on track. All the best to you as well!

I don’t know why but each time I get to 1 min 30 seconds, I’d burst into tears each time. Anyone else gets emotional listening to this song?
It’s true

Yo siempre!!! Y se me pone la piel de gallina! Y la oiga donde la oiga... me voy al ring donde Rocky aplasta al ruso!

Dave Capozzi classic Rock saying the darndest things!
Gotta admit I cried
"Theres only one thing I want for you to do."
"What's that?"
"Win"
Definitely my tear jerker moment haha
And the voice in the back said: "the winner by split decision and still the world heavyweight champion..... Apollo Creed"
Pues sí, esta canción me ha hecho llorar infinidad de veces...
So glad they used this in Creed!
This song is so motivating and beautiful.
You have to be some type of genius to think this shit up.
The look on Creed's face when Rocky gets up and motions him to come forward.
"Are you *shitting* me??"
GREAT GREAT moment in film history

I ran a marathon last weekend and this song on a loop helped me push through those last 6 miles after hitting the wall. If your spirit cannot be defeated, even when your body has been, there’s nothing that can stop you.

GO EAGLES AND REMEMBER: THERE IS NO TOMORROW!
I am a mechanical engineer with a lot of stress in my life. When I need to recenter myself, this is one of the pieces I turn to.... the swelling of the music unclouds my mind and I feel ready to go.
When I was younger, I would always finish a hard training workout listening to this and it would motivate me to go even harder than when I started. Even now when I listen to this, I wanna get up and take on the world.

He's all wrong for us baby. You beat that man like I've never seen no man get beat before and the man kept coming after you!

@@edicoroian1011 Me too! So happy to have been part of the generation to witness THE most amazing part of movie history 70's and 80's DEFINED so many genres!
Priceless.
Anybody who has ever competed, you know this shit hits different. Preparing for combat against another person is crazy lol
I’ve never heard this song for a competition, but I fully agree with your last sentence. Roger that brother.
Wow. It's amazing. Bill Conti musically condenses ROCKY into 2:40. So much talent associated with this movie and all because Sylvester Stallone dreamed and believed. Pretty powerful stuff.
My absolute favorite part of this classic is where the violin starts, just after Rocky goes down, and fights to beat the ten count. (1:31)
+J. Rossi Ikr Love That Part
+J. Rossi yep, that is the best part, just heard that segment in a commercial
+Matko Doris i saw it to while watching football
+J. Rossi this scene is probably the best scene in cinema ever. mickey saying to stay down because like a father he doesnt want to see rocky getting hurt anymore and adrian watching it in the meanwhile. Just beautiful !
