Not only can this girl skate but she has an engineering degree from Stanford and a medical degree from Northwestern, all earned after her Olympic heartbreak. It’s great that she has emerged from a dark place and come back to the world of skating. In my view that is her greatest achievement. She has so much to offer.
You haven't seen her post. She said that Iylana lied on that show about her mental health and she has been speaking about it every since. I would never trust anything to do with Iylana, Oprah or Gail. Debi even had a test she said to prove she had no mental illness
She looks great. She still skates great. She sounds like she's completely grounded and in a good place, as she said in the end. I thought I remember reading that she was homeless at one point, or in a bad place personally. Maybe I'm wrong.
So happy she's working on herself. A few years ago, she was living in an insect infested trailer with her husband. Iyanla Vanzant tried to work with her, but she refused. She wasn't ready at that time. Hopefully, she will continue to take it one day at a time.
No, you're correct. Debi was in a bad place for quite awhile, suffering from Bipolar Disorder, lost her orthopedic surgical practice and custody of her children etc. Looks like she is doing better now. And Debi is right, the medical field is very, very difficult. It would be helpful for others though if she talked about her struggle with mental illness and doing better now. But maybe that's too painful.
This interview was very interesting. Dr. Thomas walked away from medicine because she was forced to do things that the patients did not need instead of doing what they needed.
Nice interview, I heard Debi had a few tough years, she looks good and healthy in this. All power to her.
She is such a great skater! Love her!
I always knew she would come back to skating! I’m so happy to see she’s doing better in her personal life.
Debi is wonderful! Happy she's back on the Skating scene. Figures are very important and deserve attention.
you are inspiring since i followed your skating career at Olympics. love hearing about what you are doing now.

Yes tell it to Oprah
@@russellaycock3703 And went on with additional schooling to become an Orthopedic Surgeon. Brains and Talent.
Classic Overachiever
Awesome. Very inspiring story, the energy of youth combined with perseverance!
Awesome interview Debi!
Debi, I so enjoyed your video presentation and interview! Representation always matters! Thank you for sharing! 🙂❤
So good to see you doing well.
She still has the goods.
I am glad she is doing better with her mental health

Love her thinking! ❤
Trendsetter😊
Oh yeah said Dr Debi/Olympian 1986 won her gold metal in world figures skating

Wonderful! I hope she’s free of debt and deadbeat husbands, she didn’t deserve that.
Are you in a good place ?
