Mettaton is a boy. Also, to me it was never Chara's idea to kill everyone and it was the player controlling Frisk and when Frisk finally was able to reset Chara took control to finish the job and turned into a demon. And I believe that Chara and Frisk aren't at fault for the players decisions.
First, no, Mettaton is a ghost that's fully corporeal inside a robot. And since he's now a robot, he doesn't have a gender. And second, I know that the Player's fault is just a theory, but I want to say who I think it's in "control." Chara is, but just like Flowey, he/she/whatever is it's gender don't have a soul, so can feel any compassion. Just figured out the Genocide specific fights Undyne the Undying: fighting with the DETERMINATION of those still alive (close to half the Underground) Mettaton NEO: Fighting with the DETERMINATION of his loving fans (which is zero, which means he is super weak) Sans: fighting with the DETERMINATION of the monsters who have DIED (which is why he can kick ass so well)
I kinda agree, we only find sans hard because his attacks are sudden and catch us off guard, and also sans moves are really fast, but for undyne you really need to concentrate, so yeah! I agree :3 ❤️

Undyne the Undying: fighting with the DETERMINATION of those still alive (close to half the Underground)
Mettaton NEO: Fighting with the DETERMINATION of his loving fans (which is zero, which means he is super weak)
Sans: fighting with the DETERMINATION of the monsters who have DIED (which is why he can kick ass so well)
*Another example that Sans is AMAZINGLY overrated, Undyne is Hardest than Sans, grab that in your mind.*

Sans is the toughest boss of the Genocide Run, But is Also technically the weakest as he has the lowest stats. When you finally do beat Sans it’s a smooth ride to the end of the Genocide run
