I'm a Christian, and I want you to know I was blessed by viewing this video. "May the Lord bless you and keep you" Matisyahu. Thanks for using your gifts and talents to glorify God.
Mmmm chocolate stuff. Matisyahu’s face cotton! I’m not Jewish, (I’m Sikh) but I love Matisyahu’s music. Great messages. His music isn’t preachy but still teaches morals. We need more of this.
he sings about what it means to be jewish hence the song jeruselum when he was fighting with his beliefs. mirical is about the maccabes and surviving for a mirical. infinity is a super significan thing to us jews so is the number 3. glad you love this
Same here! I've grown tired of hearing the same Christmas songs over and over again (especially from artists we can't escape 11 other months out of the year like Taylor Swift, Justin Bieber, Ariana Grande, Meghan Trainor, et al), so just for variety, I started to listen to Hanukkah songs; it took just one listen to this song, now it's stuck in my head!
@@fairalways I 1st saw Matisyahu perform in 2005, as a Chasid on the stage for Camp HASC. I got his 1st album or 2, but did not follow his career. Apologies
I just want to say I'm a Christian, and love Matisyahu's music. Isn't the message he brings for peace and people coming together? Why can't we just relax and enjoy the song? It's the holiday's guys, lighten up!
Just to let you know, it's not spiritual thought 🙃 it is sacred to people that celebrate it ya know, cause so many people celebrate it and it makes me mad! You're right, Christians could take notes! 🤪🙃
Thanks, Matisyahu, and the other wonderful people involved in this video. I smiled, I laughed, and then, quite suddenly, I was somehow moved to tears. being a Jew is not just about what I believe, it is about who I am, what family, what tribe I belong to, and I am proud to belong to the same tribe as Matisyahu, a wonderful, great hearted artist.Yay! and Mazel Tov
My Miracle On Dec.21 the Transplant Hospital called me for a Kidney Transplant On Sunday 4:30 a.m. recieved a healthy Kidney. So Greatful to Hashem, the Donor and his family, the Staff at Rush,my Late Husband family and friends
Last candle for Hanukkah is tonight. Let's keep believing in miracles and shining for the glory of HaShem. Happy Holiday and Blessings to everyone. Thanks Matisyahu and crew for this awesome song and video.
I'm an elementary school music teacher and I just started showing this video for the Hanukkah season. I like explaining the symbolism to the kids, although I was lost on the hairy guy in jail with them? Someone said it's a Christmas tree, so if that's the case, okay, I'll pass that on. Christians who are offended by this video shouldn't be. There's no reference to actual Christian principles in this video. Love the video! Thank you!
I just love that I can listen to this as a Christian and not feel like Judaism is being pushed as "the right religion". Jesus was a Jew and all men are created equal so any debates people are having over this video should just end right now. Thank you Matisyahu for all of the amazing music throughout the years, this is one of my favorites.
Love him, love the video. Shalom. P.S . I'm Irish/English and Christian. Thank God we are all different, thank God for good loving, kind, and courageous hearts. Go, Matisyahu, go! God bless and Happy holidays to all!

Mattisyahu is teaching the story of Hanukkah through symbolism. The guy in the Santa suit represents Western (Greek) civilization which entices the Jews, represented by Mattisyahu. The Greeks put Mattisyahu in jail, dressed in a Santa suit, representing the forces of assimilation, and cultural domination. They escape, fight the war, and celebrate. Good job, Mattisyahu!
okidoki. didn't mean to come off like a harshy. been havin a rough time of it, and just felt like stickn up for the guy who's been bringin so much light to the hearts of many.i love his old songs, too, especially the rootsy acoustic ones! wish he and others in the conscious music realm would come bless us up with their songs!and maybe more affordable and family friendly too! peace!
I come from an uber Catholic family, but I love exploring new cultures. I recently started getting in to Jewish culture. My mom even said it was ok for me to celebrate Hanukkah (as long as I don't ask for 8 presents)!!!! Anyway, my brother told me that when he was younger and tried to celebrate Hanukkah, she didn't let him. I wonder what came over her. Anyway, 16 days 'til those 8 crazy nights! :D
Matishyu thank you for inspiring people to make hanikawa song my brother and his freind are making one so thank and evry one who sees this comment please keep this going spred the word to evryone thank you matishyu 😄😊😘😍
Great song Matis! Happy Hanukkah, the time Yeshua, the True Light, was conceived and the miracle of the Torah being preserved and God's chosen people. If the Maccabees would have assimilate to the Greek paganism who knows where we'd be today! Happy Hanukkah!
I like how he represents the struggle with Antiochus and the warrior, how compromise is like sleeping with the enemy. And how Hanukkah sometimes gets buried by Xmas, jailed as it were. Weird, but good. Killed me with the happy holidays at the end...
Incredible concert tonight at Crocodile Rock Matis! Thank you for an electrical an electrifying performance. You had everyone in your vocal transe. Simply amazing as always. May G-d bless you and keep you safe and healthy for many more decades of music for all your fans and new fans to be! God bless!

Mazik, what a great artist. I’m still bumping Blood of Abraham from the car, too (with the whole family, these days!). Superb collaboration w/Matisyahu for this video.
Im not jewish but i kid you not, i grew up listing to matisyahu. Ive been a fan for about 6 years. I cant say that about other bands cuz they all deteriorate. Respect to M
Dude this is amazing. Anyone who wants to bash it is allowed their own opinion but as a Catholic I believe that we should accept everyone. Besides if Judaism had never existed there would be no Christianity so we are all connected people. The Old Testament also came for Judaism. Oh yeah and why are we so worried about the whole Santa thing because Santa wasn't the Christian tradition originally that was St. Nicholas's Day. Happy Holidays to all

Lyrics:
Just livin' in the miracle, candles are my vehicle
Eight nights, gonna shine invincible
No longer be divisible, born through the struggle
Keep on movin' through all this hustle
Head up, heads down through all of the bustle
New York City wanna flex your muscle
Look so down, look so puzzled
Huddle 'round your fire through all the rubble
Bound to stumble and fall
But my strength comes not from man at all
Bound to stumble and fall
But my strength comes not from man at all
Do you believe in miracles
Am I hearing you? Am I seein' you?
Eight nights, eight lights and these rites keep me right
Bless me to the highest heights with your miracle
Against all odds drive on till tomorrow
Wipe away your tears and your sorrow
Sunrise in the sky like an arrow
No need to worry, no need to cry
Light up your mind, no longer be blind
Him who searches will find
Leave your problems behind
You will shine like a fire in the sky
What's the reason we're alive
The reason we're alive
Bound to stumble and fall
But my strength comes not from man at all
Bound to stumble and fall
But my strength comes not from man at all
Do you believe in miracles
Am I hearin' you? Am I seein' you?
Eight nights, eight lights and these rites keep me right
Bless me to the highest heights with your miracle
Eight is the number of infinity
One more than what you know how to be
And this is the light of festivity
When your broken heart yearns to be free
Do you believe in miracles
Am I hearin' you? Am I seein' you?
Eight nights, eight lights and these rites keep me right
Bless me to the highest heights with your miracle
Candles "on" my vehicle, like the car menorah parades.
This Christmas song of Matisyahu is great.
Such a beautiful video, well performed. Matisyahu disguising as Santa Claus is funny actually. I believe in miracles sometimes.

That's why they shouldn't ban fighting in the NHL: how else would we ever settle inter-faith beefs?
I am a total swine eating gentile, but I gotta say he's amazing. I get a lot of strength and joy from his music too.

What is that old song---sounds early 1930s---at the very end?
Darude-Sandstorm
It sounds like Hebrew, some old song from the 30's....
Yeah, does anybody here have an info to know about the song?
I love this song because it's so up-tempo and quite different from his usual style which I also love.
I had the most insane dream last ni--never mind it wasn't too bad.
