Hi everyone! The bumper at 0:45 is incomplete. For some reason, the animation supervisor doesn’t have the full version of this bumper, so the first half in HD is missing. I will delete and update this video if the full one ever comes out! 2nd, the sound effects of bumper at 2:36 is created by me and is NOT official. I’m unsure if it ever aired but if anyone finds the original audio from VHS tapes, please alert me so I can put it back together! Thanks! Cartoon Network must've been swimming in money to afford such awesome bumpers like these. They STILL look amazing to this day.
Well they tax write offed megas xlr after this and cut the promo budget so it probably wasnt that financially sound

CN City really was the best era of cartoon Network in my opinion

It was confirmed that Cartoon Network city was massacred
With as much of the original voice cast as possible.
Turns out, there's a reboot series in the works that's not only replacing the voice cast but replacing the original characters and this time, it's aimed at preschoolers. I'm guessing it's more of a sequel series.
Man, CN is really trying to teen titans goify every single one of their cartoons, aren’t they?

There should be a movie in a similar style to all of the bumpers from this time (with the realistic shading and CGI bkgs, but 2D characters) and be a crossover of all the shows that had bumpers like these (Foster's, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, etc).
I liked seeing Berri not being a pycho. Honestly, I kinda felt a little sorry for her.

I remember the "Mrs. Frances!" one so vividly. This just unlocked a repressed memory for me of being at my grandmothers house watching Cartoon Network while I ate breakfast. So sad we'll never get to re-live those moments, but at least we have these! ❤️

I don’t think networks understand these days that there’s such a thing as ‘too much simplicity’
Dude, the lightning on these is spectacular. It's dim, and in a way it could be portrayed as creepy, but it isn't. It's the real world and how we imagine these characters would inhabit it without breaking the immersion. These feel like the main or bonus cutscenes in a video game, the ladder being ones you have to unlock. I couldn't imagine how the texturing was done on Frankie's magazine at 1:27 Like Holy heck, somebody spent countless hours getting screenshots to make the cover of that fictional magazine. Kudos to them.

Funny enough, the real composer who did the music for the actual series also worked on the music for the bunpers.
Though, they had a extra composer alongside.

I used to work on this show for its first 3 seasons crazy to see these bumpers now
Ok do you have some tips for how to make these I am currently working on a series in the same vain as cn city
@@wimpool-jl7gl well the only really strong tip i can give is if you understand what blocking is never start out trying to create a refined piece. Think of your project as a sculpture you start out rough in planning and block out your shots your layouts and your designs and little by little you can start to chisle away a detail here and there to add to its complexity. If lip sync is also crucial for selling a shot you can go some what cheaper with body poses but ideally the audience will always focus on the eyes mouth and hands as long as you put more work into those 3 assets everything else can often be done cheaper and quickly and make it over all look like a higher quality shot.

This reminds me of Tawog because of the fact that the bumpers and Tawog both use 2D elements that interact with 3D elements

Just imagine what an amazing video game would be in this world with all the old characters of that era. You would be able to move freely around the city and suburbs and drive vehicles like in GTA. Play as all the main cartoon characters by switching between them. Perform their unique tasks in the city or in the native locations of the characters of each cartoon. Go to cinemas to watch episodes from cartoons. Buy weapons and accessories in stores. Improve and beautify the characters' homes. Invite your characters as companions to walk around the city with them, watch movies, play mini-games like golf, song contest, bowling, diving or arrange a joint duel in the ring. The characters could comment on your joint trips and also get to know each other better during the dialogues if you are from different cartoons. Just so that the seasons change for summer, spring, autumn, winter to complete tasks for Halloween, Christmas, Easter, etc. You can still come up with a bunch of things. I hope someone will implement this idea in better times🙏

Am I the only one who misses this Cartoon Network logo? I know the city and shows are cool but this logo change was sorta a big deal back then
I miss both the 1992 and 2004 logos.
The same goes to the classic 1984 Nickelodeon logo.
I was so used to 2010s Cartoon Network that I completely forgot the logo even looked like that.

I didn’t. The audio is already present in that bumper. All these bumpers from the Animation Supervisior only had voice acting. I only need to put in sound effects and music to try restoring them.
