This is sooo good, so much choice, so much flexibility, anything you could possibly want. That’s it your done everything in one box. Only issue is you now need to find your perfect setting, which might just take a few years 😵💫 unbelievable
I think this is one of the best, if not the best amp sim option I have tried out! I will use it at a few gigs shortly....very interested to see how it will work in a band scenario...but all up I'm very impressed!!
Thx for this in depth look at the ToneX pedal. But while I was watching I couldn't quite follow what buttons You did press on how this would effect what kind of setting. F.e. the parameters thing made me quite feel lost, while switching between Gain/Bass/... and Reverb/Compression was OK, because I got the visual feedback via the green "Alt". So maybe You could do a "Slo Mo" of how to navigate the interface.
Great vid. Just bought one and I've been struck with option paralysis. This tiny box does a hell of a lot for it's price point. Definitely punches way above it's class. I was about to pull the trigger on a Quad cortex and after a little research I realized that was way more than I would ever use. Bought the ToneX instead and am very happy I did.
I have an AxeFx 3, & while I really like that, I have tried shutting the cabs off & running it through the effects return of my real 5150 III, & while it sounds great, the axefx 5150 model doesn’t really sound like the 5150 preamp when I run it into the effects loop. It is of course a completely different animal, just wondering how the Tonex amp captures will be in a real amps effects return through a power amp
Nice demo! Probably just the beginning of AI in your pedal board though. I would like AI to be able to take a description of the tone you want (Hendrix live + with Cloudburst reverb) and just do that without fidgeting with settings. I'd also like ai to take the sound you're hearing in your headphones and adjust your amp so your room or venue gets the same tone.
You could but that kinda defeats the purpose of this…this pedal simulates an amplifier…so plugging it into the front of an Amp is kinda pointless! You could plug it into the FX Loop Return and only use the power amp section of your Amp…just make sure to turn the cabinet simulation on the TineX off if you do that
@@TSFAHTPS thank-you! Just bought the ToneX and the hdrx 20, the amp has no FX Loop it is however pedal friendly up front, asking because it'd be nice to put that tone library up front since there's no fx loop
IK Multimedia made their reputation for no excuse sounds that successfully competed with the very best Plug-Ins. In short the ToneX Pedal has sounds easily on par with both Fractal Audio and Quad Cortex. Both of which are not about just quality sounds but even more so quantity. Unless you are into Shoegaze or doing movie soundtracks 99% of what you get with them is not usable in nearly every marketable genre. In short useless for nearly any music played live in a club or downloaded to persons phone. It has 150 patch locations so between what you keep and things you download you will still have well in excess to what you will use. Even if you are making music for the commercial market that sell goods and services this is more than enough. Your clients are not looking for a Rock Opera to promote their product.
No editing possible with the help of the software Reverb and compressor are not individually switchable but must be switched on or off via preset change. No effect loop which makes the use of delay/chorus etc. almost impossible without external reverb. No XLR output but only line level - so you should use a DI box if possible. Due to the lack of reverb-compressor switches, three channels per memory bank are too few.
I assume you should never add gain to a clean capture, right? How is this thing supposed to know how the amp would sound if it never was given the chance to capture that? Same with the Kemper. Lowering the gain is totally fine but adding gain is something random gain adding which could be fine soundwise but has nothing to do with the overdriven real amp sound itself.
I guess the sound wouldn’t be exactly the same as on your amp…but if it still sounds good then it doesn’t matter at all in my opinion! I think the gain range on the pedal sounds really natural and good regardless of it sounding exactly the same as the amp when you turn the gain up or down
Dude, I need this box. How many watts is it? Are the tones copasetic? Does it come in a combo version? What are the power tubes? Is it Covid compatible? Can it get me Eddys "negro sound?" Asking for a friend

I can do that
@@TSFAHTPS That would be of great help! Thx.
Super nice review. Please can we see how it works with delay pedal. We have reverb inside but no delay for solos. And no send return.
I’ll do a video with my pedal board shortly!

Thank you!! It’s a pretty awesome piece of gear!!
Gonna need to get one of these!!! Great demo!!!
Thank you!!
I am impressed. I hope it sounds/feels like a natural amp in person. I didn't hear those digital artifacts that can be present in other devices.
I am very impressed with it…probably the best amp sim I’ve ever used!

Is better or equal the UAD pedals?
My next buy....

Good question…I’ll try that out
I’d be very interested to find out the result after you try it.

Nice thinking! Hendrix live + with Cashgrab reverb- I mean... sorry.. cloudbur$t.
Does it (the unit, not the software) have a built in Tuner? If so, how do you access it?
No, as far as I know it doesn’t…that might come with a firmware update?!?
In your opinion sound better the software or the pedal ?
I just filmed a video where I compared the two…it’ll be out soon!!

Can you guys take some of this snow off our hands over here?
I'd love to...its really hot here at the moment!!

All the specs are very easily found online…but…no modulation and no tuner…we went through everything it does in the video

Does it have polyphonic drop tuning?
No monophonic only

In Spanish brown is “marrón” not “negro”…that’s black…Eddie’s sound was the brown sound
Line 6, ToneX,Amplitube - sound the same.Sounds like Line 6 which is bad like a hell. Why do you think that another piece of plastic will sound ok?
I think it sounds great…
Don't care for multi clicking buttons to navigate, ancient and archaic way to navigate... Not into memorizing patters for pedals.
