I have gone from a BMW1200 to an ADV350 and it only took about 200 miles to convince me that it was the right move. With a Givi V47 topbox and the underseat storage, there is plenty of luggage space for a couple of weeks touring. Pyrenees here I come ! 😎
We are a bit short of motorways in Cornwall, but we do have the A30 which is like car park for 6 months a year. I find it OK at 60'ish, but I am still running-in so I've not tried any sustained high speeds. There are 4 screen positions and the 2nd one up is best for me. It keeps most of the wind blast off my wide 6' frame and leaves my helmet in fairly clear air with little buffeting. I doubt if I will change the screen.
Due to family commitments, I will now be doing the Pyrenees next year, but I have been watching the Tour de France this week and I'm convinced that the ADV350 is the perfect bike. I toured the Pyrenees many years ago on a Kawasaki ZZR1100 and it was really hard work physically and only the bottom three gears got used most of the time.
Just heard him mention £5,799 OTR price. I bet they're quite a bit more expensive in Thailand due to the colossal import tax there? I too am considering selling up and living in Thailand, as I've probably spent at least 28 months of my life there in the last 17 years holidaying from Pai all the way down to Phuket and would also consider this scooter as everyday transport.
Honda have created a gem. Ex 1150GS. But this is really something, Surprisingly quick top speed 90, feet in forward position and lock into seat for Twisties. Raised wide bars, low C of G ,corners really well. Once used to the CTV no problem. Stock exhaust quite nice, Screen just right. Has presence on the road ..& bikers nod.
Just bought mine 2 weeks ago, had a 125cc Sym for 9 years, absolute pleasure it was, we only used it in the summer months on the island during vacation and now that we are retiring to the island we decided to upgrade. This bike is absolutely everything I’d hoped it would be, the power and comfort and handling! I do agree with you on the location of the turn signals and horn, should be reversed, very confusing for me, also they are too small. Another issue is with the back fender, it’s to damn small, my wife complains and rightly so, because when it rains her legs get covered with water, mud or whatever is on the road. We are definitely going to fix that! Another feature I have a problem with is you have to turn the bike off to open the seat, a pain in the a$$! Still getting used to the bike but seriously it is a go getter, happy trails!
