- I'd be lying if I said I didn't have doubts about Hunter and Willow's relationship, however these had exceeded my expectations, which leaves us with yet another great Owl House ship.

Personally I feel like Huntlow didn’t feel rushed cuz of how Lumity set the standard for how relationships in the show work. In every episode for Lumity’s development, Amity treated Luz differently, with implications they met again in between episodes. Hence, we see every major points of the relationships during those episodes.
So when Huntlow happened, Hunter fell for her immediately since she’s his first actual friend. So with that, there’s a decent amount of time for them to text & meet offscreen. And you get to see Willow change her behavior like Amity did. And with all the life endangering, it would force those feelings out even more.
In the end, they didn’t get together exactly, but it’s more implied they are aware of their feelings & will want to talk about the relationship once the Isles are no longer in danger. And even if they do save it for the end of the series in this way, the fact they nearly died could very well be a good catalyst.
Though if it were up to me, and not Disney, both of them would have had longer romances.
I think everyone who likes or loves this show would have preferred to have a much longer Season 3 and thus more chances for Hunter and Willow's romance to grow as well as having more chances to show lumity and for other characters to be shown and grow.

Now, it doesn't matter if it's not a kiss, if it's not a direct "will you be my boyfriend/girlfriend"... i just want them to show that they're together, with that i'll be very VERY happy

Also something else I'd like to mention is how they mirror Caleb and Evelyn so Belos seeing them together wouldn't make him very happy since another version of his brother fell in love with a witch :]

There are people that say that it’s too soon for Hunter to have a crush on someone and then you remember that the whole f*cking plot would’ve happened if Belos’ brother didn’t chase after witch p*ssy. This is history repeating itself 😂

They easily became one of my favorites. growing into their own characters and finally completing their character arcs together. THE BEST
I was neutral on Huntlow for a while, I thought it was cute but wasn't as invested - until Thanks To Them dropped. I can tell you the exact moment they clicked for me-when Hunter's in his costume and Willow is so supportive and genuinely thinks it's super cool. That was the moment I was like, "wow. She likes this goober." Before, I felt like there was more development on Hunter's feelings vs Willow's, with him blushing at her in the past, but it clicked in that moment that Willow really really liked this guy - she liked the dorky outfit he had on, she thought it was super cool. Maybe it wasn't fully fleshed out romantic love yet, but she, again, liked this goober. That moment just - made it click for me, and so I was fully on board when For The Future elaborated-especially with the often overlooked Willow focus; it was clear Hunter liked her romantically before, but they developed her feelings more too and showed the way she cared now that they've known each other for a bit, and further showed how they worked together. We saw them getting to know each other before, when they first met, and we saw Hunter recognizing that Fake Willow was fake and him blushing at her, but now we've seen how they banter and prop each other up outside of that initial meeting, which sold the ship for me. Mind you, I was never hostile to the ship to start with, I thought if they developed it more it could be cute. And of course they did develop it more, best they could with what they were given. As it sits, I'm definitely a Huntlow fan as of now, and think I may actually like it most out of any of the ships - which says a lot, because it was initially to me the least compelling. Willow being so endlessly entertained by Hunter in season 3 is really what sold it for me.
At first, I didn’t ship Huntlow but honestly, the more fan art I saw, the more I was like, ‘Actually, I ship this’
1:51 It was actually Willow’s dads chose the Abomination Track for her, because they’re the ones who thought it would lead to better opportunities for her. Willow just went along with it to please them, till Principle Bump saw where her talents actually lay 🌱

Idk what the finale episode of owl house will bring us, bit I really hope we can see several scenes with the ships that us fans have come to like including willow and hunter as they are more closer than ever now and I'd love to see them either kiss or decide to start a relationship.

been putting this comment on a fair bit of huntlow videos bc i'm curious what y'all think! while i think it's cute, my opinion on this ship is that hunter needs more time to HEAL before he gets involved in a long-term relationship with someone. their shared story introductions make them seem similar, yes, but not a lot of people realize the kind of abuse belos did to hunter DOES to a person, especially when it comes to healthy relationships that aren't just you clinging onto someone for support like a lifeline once you realize they're not going to hurt you like the last person you trusted did. yeah it worked out in the show bc cartoon logic, but from my own experiences, grabbing onto the first few people who made you feel like a human being and deciding you're in love with one of them doesn't really end well, especially if the other person is still recovering/learning from their OWN trauma/self esteem issues.
tldr: it's a cute ship but they both need THERAPY, not romantic love imo. tell me your thoughts about why you ship them in the replies though, i'm curious why so many people enjoy it bc i don't get it personally /gen
This was honestly my thought process as well all of them are going to need a lot of therapy especially Hunter he really shouldn't be getting into any relationships until he is at least somewhat healed

When the show was over, I'm sure he got the therapy he deserved! he has no eye bags and is much happier in the last episode's epilogue! and since it's a time jump, I'm sure after he finally finished therapy he immediately asked her out on a date, with help from Gus, and Luz, and Amity, and Darius, pretty much everyone had to help him with that because the boy would be a bigger disaster than the Luz's date invitation to Amity! at least that's what I think happened. the epilogue already shows them together, and clearly he looks much better, so he must have had therapy!
I guess I'd argue that's exactly what drew him to Willow though. She didn't force any expectations on him, and even when he screwed up, she didn't cut him out. It wasn't that he latched on to her as "his first friend" (because Gus and the rest of the Flyer Derby team were there too); in fact we saw in ASIAS that he was prepared to cut ties with all of them to make amends. In the same way, we've seen the Willow _also_ has issues to work through, and Hunter reciprocates what she's given him. Willow and Hunter work because of what they offer each other precisely in terms of what they need to heal. Willow always makes space for Hunter to be himself without getting punished for it, and Hunter always helps Willow to know that she's enough just as she is. He can mess up and still have worth, she can have weaknesses and still be strong.
The problem with saying he needs to heal before having a long-term relationship is that a huge chunk of his trauma comes from having been completely isolated and _deprived_ of long-term relationships in his life. The only one he's had turned out to be an enormous life-altering lie. He _needs_ to establish healthy long-term relationships in order to heal. I get what you're saying, because I too have been in situations where I latched onto people after plenty of bullying, but I just don't feel that's what connects Hunter and Willow. Their foundation isn't "Oh this person was nice to me", but rather "This person _gets_ me." Huntlow wouldn't work if it was just "oh she was nice to me" because then why didn't he latch on to Luz or Amity romantically? They were nice to him before he ever met Willow. The difference is Hunter and Willow make each other feel seen, _really_ seen in ways no one else in their group can, with absolutely no expectations attached, and honestly it's what each of them need in order to do all their healing.
@@LittleHobbit13 hey, i loved reading your take! i agree with pretty much all of your points! except for the fact that the fact he needs a long term relationship to heal. i mean, yeah, he absolutely does, but i think a ROMANTIC one is not what he needs until he's way more comfortable with himself and more adjusted to a healthier lifestyle/mindset. he could easily have just stayed as platonic besties with gus and willow, and that would ALSO be considered a "long term relationship", just not one that requires as much emotional maturity/adjustment as a romantic partnership.

@@laraprisma6381 "finished with therapy"?¿? no offense but nobody.. "finishes" therapy. it's a process that takes many years depending on just how much help you need, and most people who recover a bunch still stay in therapy in case they relapse or something happens in their lives that affects them badly. with hunter's trauma, he's gonna need it WELL into adulthood, probably forever. you can't "fix" what belos did in a 4 year flash-forward. he's still got a long way to go, even if he is getting therapy now.

I think its that I've seen a bunch of people who think the interactions between luz and hunter remind them of the interactions between them and their siblings so it's really creepy to a lot of people

Luz and Hunter are sibling coded, which was outright confirmed in TtT when Luz called him 'family'. Luz may be bi, but Hunter *wouldn't* be a choice for her. Besides, she is in a relationship with Amity already.
And like...if you hate Huntlow so much, why are you here? Are you *that* bothered about your ship not becoming canon that you have to actively seek out content for the ones who did and attack them? Go outside and touch some grass instead, will you? Let us enjoy our ship in peace
