Omg, I've been trying to look for this song! I've always seen the title as "Wodo Airen". Well anyways, I kinda thought Shampoo was annoying and that Akane and Ranma belonged together. But when I first heard this song back in the day, I loved it as soon as the intro started. I've seen this anime ^-^ but don't think I'd use the word "pure" to describe Shampoo, ha..
Then again, the generally mean or harsh treatment the characters had for each other was a big part of the humor and irony in the show. It wasn't just her in any way from that perspective 😅 (it was almost all of em)

Well, *that's* interesting. I haven't seen much of the anime since I prefer reading manga.
In the manga, Happosai claimed they had a relationship but that he was forced to leave in order to complete his training or something.
According to Cologne, though, he basically pestered her and the other amazons and when she wouldn't date him he got upset, stole a bunch of artifacts, and left.
Cologne's story is treated as the real one, but I always kinda suspected there was more to it then that.
