This song has haunted my memory for a decade. Love to bring it up and show my friends. Great video.
This is a Homage to the writer, painter, director and more Hugo Claus who died in 2008.
I had the honour to met him once and I read his book `de Paliter`- my first flemish ever.
He ended his life in 2008 - suffering of Alzheimer and Absynthe Minded made this beautiful song for him.
You have to read to understand!
They are all dressed in black because it funeral music for Hugo Claus.

Isn't 'de paliter' a book of Felix Timmermans and not Hugo Claus?

perfect sound and harmony between the instruments. love it especially when the leading guitar goes to backsound without losing any of it's touch and the leading became the second one without making it solo, just briliant. Great band nothing more to say. Love every bit of it: instrument sounds, voice, lyrics just perfect.

Stumbled on this because a band from my hometown, Hey Rosetta, which is Newfoundland Canada, were on WLT. Probably the best song ive heard this year, been listening to it constantly the last couple of weeks. Just a beautiful song and version, thanks!

Actually it's an adaptation of a poem by Hugo Claus. Arguebly one of the most important Flemish authors. See:
