I have been told by psychiatrists and psychologists that math skills decline after 45. Probably true to some extent. I’m 72 and struggled with proofs in discrete math last year. So it’s good to find a way to stay sharp- like this
I am 60 with a physics degree and I got them right also, without using paper.
I haven't been in a class for over 20 years and got them all still. Yay 1000%
Stephen Jackson
I am 65, i only went to school till the age of 14, (in Italy) and i also managed the correct answer in my head, without using paper.
For the last problem, I forgot the addition rule, but remembered that a negative exponent means take the reciprocal. So x⁶ / x⁶ = 1.
Sometimes, in math, you may forget the "official" way to do things, but as long as you can still figure out the answer, you did it well, because you _understood_ it. :)
I have a doctorate degree in theology. Two years ago I tried to learn basic algebra, and it gave me a headache that lasted two days at least. Maybe it was because I tried too hard. In any case, I think it proves that there are neurotransmitters in our brains that, because of lack of use, will experience lots of strain when we try to fire them up again. This is one more reason why we need to use the parts of our brains that are dormant. I'm now 78 years of age, and most likely the study of algebra will prevent senile dementia and/or Alzheimer's. I love the challenge. But I need to start at as low a level as possible in order to make a minimum headway. I highly admire your teaching skills.
Great refresher. Just trying to keep math fresh to ward of mental decline.

@@deankaraniya7422 good catch! I forgot to proofread this!
Hello, I’m trying to figure where to even being. I’ve been out of school for over 20 years and honestly have no clue where to even begin. I need to get my GED. But it’s been so long that I need help on what’s the best approach or where to begin. Thank you for your time.
Check out khan academy and start from basic math courses if this was hard for you :)
Yey I got it all right doubtful in number 2 though because it has no solution but after checking concluded no solution. Thanks alot
The first problem would be great to introduce asymptotes
4:20 "let's get to our problems here"
Im 16 doing pre algebra. Idk why but math is so hard for me to do. Yeah i know basic stuff like multiplication division exponents and basic like measurements and stuff but like other stuff its very very hard for me to learn.
Crap. I haven't solved for two variables in so long that I don't know if I could still do it. Never got around to taking Algebra II.
1) For f(x)=(2x)/(x-1), the domain is all Real numbers and x≠1.
2)
y=3x+1
2y-6x=4
2(3x+1)-6x=4
6x+2-6x=4
2≠4
No Solution
3)
(x^2)^-3•x^6
x^-6•x^6
x^0

I made a study play list and have to keep trying to find where I should start on each video I have so many videos to search and skip past all that annoying “start talk” I love comments like this to make it easier for me to actually begin each lesson. Thank you so much 🙏🏼
Methods are great, but why use 10,000 words when one hundred would do?
Better monetization on longer videos...? 😀
I’m 76 with a degree in Mathematics and Physics!!! I do not always agree with internet math explanations!!!
This video is 7 minutes too long. Take out the first 7 minutes where you talk about how great you are and all the good things you are doing and just work the problems.
I’m going into 8th grade and did pre algebra the year prior I am cooked
I am 76 and a degree in Mathematics and Physics. However, I do not always agree with Internet explanations!!!
Done all in under 15 secs lol
Me too
Got'em all correct and didn't need to write anything down.
I still have it, I am over 60, and have an engineering degree.
I am under 30 and working on my engineering degree
😢
Quickly, wrong
Please get to the point.
