I really appreciate this video. I am brand new to all of the pour techniques. I just recently discovered it. I haven’t tried it yet but am ready to and have been trying to figure out everything that I would need. The torch was my biggest question. I didn’t understand what exactly it was. I finally get it. You explained and showed everything that that I needed. I’m now ready to get the last of my supplies and do my first pour. Thank you so much.🎨🥰💕
I wonder if there is a way you could narrow the vent of the hair dryer.. i bought a hair dryer once that had a lot of heat blowing with a high amount of air. I am wondering if it was a heat gun because it looked just like what you had. If I wanted a face lift and all my hair burnt it was perfect for that
I love the colors! good to know the difference in each heat source. I've seen some videos with people using the blow dryer and I'm not fond of it I like your technique best.
Turned out pretty cool considering it’s not ur normal method! Thank you 4 sacrificing ur materials to show us the difference much appreciated by all I’m sure! Love ur channel so much xo
Thanks for sharing. I do have a torch but my studio is in transition so I’m using my dining room table for my art...a bit squeamish about using a torch in there but I do also have a heat gun. Awesome!
Turned out gorgeous!! Love the colors you used! I purchased a Creme Brulee torch @ BB&B yesterday, but oddly enough it terrifies me to use it. LoL. So worried about injury. [ that said, I have my hubby light the propane outdoor grill for same reason] I also baught a heat gun a few months back & using that. Again TFS your amazing gifts & talents with us!! You Rock! Love your Art!💚💜💗🧡💙❤🖤💙💜💛💚💛
This was fun to watch. I love the stuff you’ve done. Appreciate the way you compared results. And thanks a million for the amazon link which is helpful for those of us still learning. ❤️❤️
Always looks SO easy when you guys do it lol! About to do my 3rd pour now & bought a heat gun so hoping for cells! Thanks for your video & love that painting!!👍👍
I got a blowtorch recently but it isn't working like I expected it to. When I use it on the paint it kind of dries out that area..sort of creating a semi dry layer on too with absolutely wet paint beneath. What do I do? Can you please get in touch and help me out?
Thank you for posting. Helpful. After watching several videos on heat guns, I am going to try it out. Again, thank you. I do know they make heat guns with variable temperatures, variable fan speeds, and digital displays. After watching other videos, seems like way to go is get a controllable heat gun. In most videos heat guns are easier to get big vs small cells. Torches seem to go small, but that also depends on type of flame from torch.
I use a heat gun because my other half freaks out at me using a torch in the living room. Um yeah, I wanna burn the house down, right? lol! I have a small house and nowhere for s work shop! Honestly it works just fine!
What did you have on your canvas to start with did you have it already painted white or did you put it on a plain canvas or did you possibly just put plain white paint on the whole surface of the canvas before you started beautiful colors thank you for sharing
So since the paint is going to be thinned out, anyway, would regular acrylic paints work with this, or do you need the flow acrylics in order to achieve the cool effects?
Unrelated, but are the like... Edges of the canvas, like... Thinner? I mean. Can you see canvas around the edges where the paint runs off? Almost all of mine have thin edges and I'm wondering if I'm mixing the paint too thin or if that's just what gravity does to the edges... I don't mean like. The flat sides. I'm talking about where the canvas wraps around the wood... And if that's just something that happens, what do you suggest to pretty up the sides/edges of the canvas, if anything?
Can you talk about your ventilation ? We have been pour painting and using a torch. I noticed we have all been feeling extremely tired and other symptoms mentioned as a cause of lack of ventilation from off gassing in a small space. I’m just wondering the safest and best way to do this in a small space? Is a smaller torch preferable and or safer than a larger craft torch with a larger tank?
Just getting into this. I have a heat gun, but have torches in my amazon cart because I only see pouring videos using the torch... Thanks for the info!
What is the name of this little torch that you are using I live in very rural area so it is helpful fore me to know the name of the torch if I am going to order it . I click on your show more but it didn't give me any info love your comparison but I do like the torch look the best
+Sue Bridgeo honestly I don't know the brand of this one, but it's basically identical to this www.amazon.com/dp/B00GA3U9XO/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_awdb_t1_KL8AAbEH05B1P
With the torch it appears to give the impression it creates more webbing vs the heat gun? I have a heat embossing gun but if I don't have to purchase a torch I'd rather not. I'm just starting out, gathering up supplies. I'm excited to start pouring :)
What brand is your colour flash paint? I'm in the UK and when I search for it nothing comes up. It does ask me if I mean colour shift paint. Will that be a similar thing? Thanks 😁
Thank you for this video. I was torching until I ran out of butane, then I bought butane and was too afraid to refill my torch 🤣😂🤣😂. Great to know I can use my heat gun until I get braver.
I love how your dryer seems to be powerful enough to move the paint on low, can someone tell me Where can I find a blow drying that is forceful enough to move the paint like that, I have a Revlon 1825 I just bought recommended by one of the paint pouring experts and its is not strong enough to move the paint fast enough to keep it from thicking Up and slowing down.
what should be temperature specifications for the heat gun. is 600 degrees too hot? I am an absolute novice in painting. Any help is appreciated. Btw thank you for posting this video. i was on the look out for alternatives to torch.
Your creation is beautiful and the colors really pop. Thanks for the explanations especially. You answered most of my questions except one. Does the watts matter with the heat gun?
I was told torches clog up more and sometimes burn the paint that the heat gun is the best way to go? Do you think that’s fair advice? Maybe they’re about equal?
I’m having such a hard time with the heat gun. I just bought it and I don’t want to feel like I wasted my money. It seems to dry really fast and I’m not getting any cells. I’m new to this. What am I doing wrong? TIA
Paint has to be correct thickness (mix with something like Floetrol and water). Cells are enhanced, or won't even show up with some paints, without glue or silicon/oil added to paint. Plenty of videos on how to make cells.
Good information. I think a painting created with the hair dryer would be unique and beautiful! I love the final product♥ #KnowledgeIsPower!#AwesomeTeam☮♥♥
That came out really cool I could see how the hair dryer you know I see people using straws and what not that could be a really cool effect if you were going for that I guess you said that though LOL thanks for sharing
Hoping that someone running across this can answer a question for me! How can I find the link to this video? I want to share it in a post I already wrote; that's why I didn't share directly from RUclips. TIA. I don't know if that violates any rule or policy, but if it does please tell me and I'll take it down, or the admin can take it down. 😃

Just searched this online, didn't expect to find a video! Thanks for making this.
I may be the only one but I actually liked the hair dryer blowing it around a bit the best! Thanks for showing this!
+Debra Myatt me too! I have another video coming up soon with a hair dryer :)
You're not alone.
I wonder if there is a way you could narrow the vent of the hair dryer.. i bought a hair dryer once that had a lot of heat blowing with a high amount of air. I am wondering if it was a heat gun because it looked just like what you had. If I wanted a face lift and all my hair burnt it was perfect for that
I've had these questions!! Your demonstration helped a lot. Also, even though the hair drier almost made a mess, it also made a beautiful mixture!
+Valerie Atwell thank you!
I love those colors! Looks like the heat gun worked really well. Thanks for trying the new techniques.
+Deidre Dixon thank you!
Wow that came out great. Really like the color combination. Acrylic pours just have a mind of their own.
+Donna Seamon thanks!
I love the colors! good to know the difference in each heat source. I've seen some videos with people using the blow dryer and I'm not fond of it I like your technique best.
+Echo Cole thank you!
I agree!!
Turned out pretty cool considering it’s not ur normal method! Thank you 4 sacrificing ur materials to show us the difference much appreciated by all I’m sure! Love ur channel so much xo
Loved the colors and the way this one turned out; the color shift is beautiful! 👍
+D J thank you!
Love, love these colors!! Nice work!!
+Loretta Rice thank you!
Thanks for sharing. I do have a torch but my studio is in transition so I’m using my dining room table for my art...a bit squeamish about using a torch in there but I do also have a heat gun. Awesome!
New to this, but have watched MANY of your viddies!!! I needed to see about torching. For later in my “education”
I’m so excited!!!!!
Thank you for doing the comparison.
Turned out gorgeous!! Love the colors you used! I purchased a Creme Brulee torch @ BB&B yesterday, but oddly enough it terrifies me to use it. LoL. So worried about injury. [ that said, I have my hubby light the propane outdoor grill for same reason]

Again TFS your amazing gifts & talents with us!! You Rock! Love your Art!💚💜💗🧡💙❤🖤💙💜💛💚💛
I just came by your channel by mistake, and wow! those colors you decided to use together are beautiful!
The colors are amazing btw!
You have totally inspired me to start doing my own painting. Thank you for the amazing videos and the beautiful art
Awesome!
Nice video! I always use my heat gun and my paintings have no issues at all 👍
I really like all three techniques together on this piece
Hi ,you are using unique techniques in your artwork which is really impressive keep it up
This was fun to watch. I love the stuff you’ve done. Appreciate the way you compared results. And thanks a million for the amazon link which is helpful for those of us still learning. ❤️❤️
I like the center with the heat gun!! Those cells are interesting!!
+Margaret Burrows agreed :)
As per my experience heat gun works good but dries the upper layer of color very fast resulting you may end up having cracks in your painting.
Love love love the colors!
+Mary White thank you!
Love it!! Very outer spacey!!
+kshultz8 thank you!
YES, YOU answered my question, although I have a torch gun coming, not comfortable about using it. LOL GREAT VIDEO...THANKS A MILLION! :)
I felt the same way LOL but it looks like that's going to be my next purchase
Great colors and very informative, thank you
Hairdryer works you just have to hold it further away so the paint doesnt get pushed around
Very very cool nice colors
I loooooove those colours....sweet piece!
+Jasmine Cherie thanks!
Always looks SO easy when you guys do it lol! About to do my 3rd pour now & bought a heat gun so hoping for cells! Thanks for your video & love that painting!!👍👍
You can also get cells by using silicone in your paint.
@@Celestialstars0109 I do try that but still never looks as good 🤷🏻♀️ Thanks for your suggestion tho! Think i just need more practice
Thank you for answering all my questions.
Thank you so much sharing.. i have been luking for the same ... Really helped a lot😊😊💞
Where is your torch from?
I’ve used the heat gun for 8 months, finally got a torch and I’m in love. Torch all the way!!!!!
I got a blowtorch recently but it isn't working like I expected it to. When I use it on the paint it kind of dries out that area..sort of creating a semi dry layer on too with absolutely wet paint beneath. What do I do? Can you please get in touch and help me out?
Fantastic video! Very informative. Thanks!!

Forgot to add that heat guns often have various nozzle attachments too.
Thank you your video is very very helpful
thankyou so much for answering these doubts i always had. how did the cells form without silicone? curious. Thanks
I love them all!
+patty ferreira me too :)
Woah, this one looks pretty trippy! I think I'll get a butane torch though.
+DΞUS thank you!
You answered my question! Awesome!
+Vonalda Utterback oh good :)
Great beginners tutorial.
I use a heat gun because my other half freaks out at me using a torch in the living room. Um yeah, I wanna burn the house down, right? lol! I have a small house and nowhere for s work shop! Honestly it works just fine!
Rosemarie Kosma lol...can u blame em..lol. Too funny..
🤣
Stunning!
+April Stephens thank you!
At 4:35 I see a Cyclops on the blow drier side lol. Love the finished painting!
Lin Phillips I totally see it. He looks like a emo bad ass Cyclops lol
+Lin Phillips lol

So since the paint is going to be thinned out, anyway, would regular acrylic paints work with this, or do you need the flow acrylics in order to achieve the cool effects?
+Michelle Reckner regular acrylics work perfectly fine, these are just the ones I prefer. I'll do a video on that coming up :)
+Artie Gatsby I feel like maybe it doesn't absorb as well somehow, I don't mind it but you could try pre-painting the edges, maybe that will help :)
What does the glue do?
Thank you, this has been really helpful! 💕
You're so welcome!

another good piece
+Anna Jones thank you!
Damn I just picked up a torch, now I have to try a heat gun as well 😁
+Skulls R US lol yep!
I picked up a heat gun and wanting to buy a torch now. 😁
Just getting into this. I have a heat gun, but have torches in my amazon cart because I only see pouring videos using the torch...
Thanks for the info!
love it!
+Michelle Tackitt thank you!
Thank you for this video, I was just thinking about that!!! ❤️

Thank you!
Another great video, thanks
+Ann Sexton thank you!
How do you layer your paint in your cup to achieve a certain color look on your canvas?
What is the name of this little torch that you are using I live in very rural area so it is helpful fore me to know the name of the torch if I am going to order it . I click on your show more but it didn't give me any info love your comparison but I do like the torch look the best

I got one at Walmart for ~$5!
Is there a way to prevent bubbles from appearing?
With the torch it appears to give the impression it creates more webbing vs the heat gun? I have a heat embossing gun but if I don't have to purchase a torch I'd rather not. I'm just starting out, gathering up supplies. I'm excited to start pouring :)
Lovely. Good to know 😊
I wanted to try a long infrared heater & some forced air? I'm impatient.
How far away should I be for heat gun?
What brand is your colour flash paint? I'm in the UK and when I search for it nothing comes up. It does ask me if I mean colour shift paint. Will that be a similar thing? Thanks 😁
+Alison Pendlebury-Brown yes, it's color shift paint, sorry if I said it incorrectly :)
Mixed Media Girl it may have been me that misheard. Thanks for clarifying. 😊
+Alison Pendlebury-Brown no problem :)
I see a face just above the yellow at the bottom left corner. I love it! I mean the whole painting!
Love your color choices on this one. My question is...The paints seem to be pretty thick on the canvas. Will the paint crack over time?
+Darlene Iglehart no, I run off enough so that it shouldn't crack. I haven't had one crack in a looooooong time :)
Thank you for this video. I was torching until I ran out of butane, then I bought butane and was too afraid to refill my torch 🤣😂🤣😂. Great to know I can use my heat gun until I get braver.

That is cool.
Okay, I see a right profile face on the right side of the painting at 4:40.
Dusty Blankets i see some
I saw a Cyclops with a beard on the right
Can u use food colouring instead of paint
+Leonie McEwen no clue, haven't tried it. Interesting idea :)
Please try it - it would be interesting (also would go some way of showing if same tech would work with water-colors).
+AbidingKnack I will :)
Food color is dye...acrylic paint is different...
As always, i love your videos. :)
+tinkerbell2810 thank you!
Very nice.
+Diana Burgess thank you!
Awesome vid!
+Johnnie Ferro thank you!
What is color flash?
It's folkart color shift paint, comes in various colors like black flash, blue flash, etc. It's pretty cool, the color shifts in the light
Do you need to mix it with anything, like floetrol or water, etc. (other than with your other mixed colors)?
It's acrylic paint, you mix it just like you would your other paints

Great comparison! I've been wondering if there was a difference between a heat gun and a torch. Thanks!
love it.
+agnes ashford thank you!
I was told torches clog up more and sometimes burn the paint that the heat gun is the best way to go? Do you think that’s fair advice? Maybe they’re about equal?
how long does it take for paintings to dry on average?
1 day, unless it's cold then 2 days or so
This roxxxxx!
+crunchypickles99 thank you!
Does the torch flame touch the paint? I want to do it but preferably the right way, so I do not set the house on fire ;) who can tell me?
Nope, I keep it about half an inch to an inch away
Marss 07 ..lol good question 😊😀
Love it
Great 💕
+Sara Ahmad thanks :)

Reminds me of the Only Fools and Horses episode where he sells paint strippers as hair dryers :)
