Do not let tawa to be too hot. Lower the flame after you remove cooked dhosa and sprinkle water at that time. Maintaining tawa temperature during dhosa is most important. I experienced it with non stick tawa. I was about to throw the tawa but its working now.
Put half spoon oil and rub with half cut onion before pouring batter, you to sprinkle water on the tava in between
Purchased the same tawa , am really happy with the results. Far better than non stick tawa .

I faced these kinds of issues too but my mum taught me to always season the tava with an omelette after the wash. This trick always works for me. Never had a bad day with Dosa's.

In South India, it is more traditional to apply oil with a coir brush (rather than a silicone brush). Alternatively, people also use a "potli" out of cotton cloth to smear oil on Tawa. Commercial oil applicators are also available, looks like a wooden stamp with cloth wrapped around it.
Very very well explained. Really helpful for everyone to use. Thank you very much
Excellent information on cast iron tawa... 👍🏻👍🏻
Nicely explained Thanks for making us knowledgeable
Thanks for a comprehensive video on tawa 👍🙏
I have purchased this tawa few weeks back and the results are really good... It's way far better than non stick tawa...easy to clean also.
Nowadays people considering it new. 😂😂Our mother's and grandmothers were using it from ages for cooking. When this tawa was in regular use, people were like : These are old buy non-stick and call them old-fashioned. Now people bringing it back and calling it new.
Never grease oil from backside.🤦🏻♀️
Han hmare ghar m to aaj tak non stick pan aya hi nhi 🤣🤣🤣 shuru se hi hmare ghr m dosa lohe k tave pr hi bnta a Raha hai .. 🤣
Why not apply oil on back side? Could you please elaborate?
Yes, I'm using C.I dosa tawa which my great grand mother was using!😃
Always keep half onion raw and dip it in oil and rub on tawa then make dosa and dosa ke tawa pe roti nhi bnate keep it seperate
Sister...cast iron tawa are best instead of nonstick...only thing is you need to set it right....before pouring batter use cut brinjal and put oil on cut side.Apply oil slightly on tawa and then pour corect batter...Cover and cook for best results. Only one side.... perfect for south indian dosaa
We can use cut onion also heat management is important batter preparation is also important one proportion of urad Dall and two proportions of rice ferment moderately over fermentation spoils dosa
Greatly explained ma'am 👍
You are the first youtuber who tell the full information about dosa tawa thank you so much 🙏🏻🙏🏻
Always welcm
Bahut acchi tarah se jankari mili hai mujhe dhanyawad ❤
Superb very honest review....
Very nicely explained. Thank you.
Firstly, understand the difference between Cast iron and others.
Even if it says Pre seasoned, you have to season it again over 3-4 days with
Diluted cooked riice water
Soak the entire tawa in it in a large tub after first cleaning it
Do this for 2-3 days in fresh ricecwater
Then again clean it
And finally, smear it with oil on all surfaces- top bottom both, and then dry roast some chana dal, coconut grated by spreading it on all parts of the top surface for few minutes.
Discard the roasted stuff
Now it's ready to use, after wiping clean the tawa.
Do all the above, and then release a video

Try using cut onion fixed to a fork....and then just rotating it on the tawa before pouring dosa batter
Aap ki review wali videos bahut achhi hoti hai
In next dosa also u have to apply oil with the help of Cotton cloth or onion..... Ur dowa tawa is new so it need to absorb oil nicely for perfect dosa .... U shud nt make ur tawa dry ..... Even nonstick pan dosa stick wen we don't apply oil nd wipe

We in South India use cast iron tawa since ages and will use same one for many many yrs with out any problem...
Same for dosa and roti??
Yes ,even in north India, our mother's and grandmothers are using it since ages but at that time, today's people were obsessed with non-stick. And now they are bringing it back abd calling new
I wanted to ask the same tawa for both dosa and roti or you use separate tawa for different purposes?
Iron tawa requires the same treatment as cast iron ? I mean the maintenance ...since it's pure iron tawa unlike cast iron which requires seasoning on n off for proper use ...kindly advise
I'm from South Africa 🇿🇦. My tawa is over 100 years old. It belonged to my great grandmother and I also have my mother in laws one. They work perfectly. I also have my granny's kadai/karahi and my mother has a set of pots from india we call it the india dotted pots they all alot better than the stuff u fine in shops now days. Here in S.a almost everything in shops is non stick coated, non stick isn't good for health. I prefer using cast iron and stainless steel

Thank dear for making this informative video
Really really really helpful thank you
Well explained 👍👍
Nice information 👌
Firstly remember this is not a non stick pan. You have to season every time with cut onion when you make dosa... believe me its comes out very crispy
Very helpful video. My dosas were not coming out properly so i have stopped using this. Let's hope that after using your trick I will start using this tawa again. :)
We have to season it well.
We have to add oil before each dosa or else it will get stuck.
If its very hot then sprinkle some water on it.
Very good information so thanks
Very well explained.
For dosas any very thick tawa works but flame always has to be low, but should not see steem. Tawa was too hot showing steem. That should not be hot. Even this tawa works if it is very thick. First dosa sometimes stuck to the pan but later those seperates automatically.
Gooooood 👌👌

Very nice information.
Nice review....
Very well explained, yes it is very heavy & cleaning is a very long procedure.😰
The best way to use cast iron tava is ,do not use it for making roti or any other thing. Keep it only for making dosa itself. That's my personal experience. 👍 Try this.
Actually that's best thing to do..even if after fully seasoned..i always keep my roti and dosa tawa seperate
Yes. I use only for making dosa. If chapati or bread is cooked, the tava may get damaged.l
Apply oil with onion while preparing dosa , it comes well
Very helpful video 👍 thanks for sharing
Watch also this, it may be helpful for you

I used to make dosa at normal iron tawa which we use for making roti and the results are as same as it is.. Process is same which is shown in video. So if you don't have this cast iron tawa you can use normal one😊
I also use normal iron tawa for roti n dosa . result is good n method is same.

I used the roti tawa and i did not get good results dosa sticks even the batter was thick
ruclips.net/video/f_3svHm5-8c/видео.html watch this video. It must be halpful for you
Sama !! We use same tawa for roti and dosa. And everytime dosa turn perfect.
बहुत ही अच्छा जानकारी शुकृकीया
☺️
Excellent presentation
I am using the same tawa for 2 years. I make dosa, uttapam, chilla etc. and never faced any issue.
Good tips
First of all, your batter is very thin , you need to have slightly thicker. And the first dosa you make after seasoning the pan, just pour half a ladle full of batter, but do not spread it. Let it cook on medium heat and then slowly you can start making bigger Dosas. You cannot fail if you follow these methods.
100% correct.
Use half cut onion with abit oil
You need to season it properly... That's why...I have been using it for many years now... it's the best.If you use it multi purpose ..i e for roti, sandwich etc, then just in case dosa batter sticks to it,rub it with half an onion and some sprinkled salt.. Also a little oil before pouring batter each time
Correct. Make first a small dosa...then slowly increase the size and thinness..
I am using the ordinary iron tawa but following all the basics of dosa preparation as mentioned in the comments.
Apka dosa batter bohot watery hai.. I purchased cast iron tawa two weeks back.. mainly temperature maintain hona zaruri hota hai.. I m super happy with the cast iron tawa as dosa come out very nice.. season it after washing with normal water and wash it with plain water, without using any dishwash liquid..
Very nice video 👌👌👌
Nice Infirmative videio 🙏
