this is the song that they played at my mate's funeral after he died, but I never was at the actual burial, because at the time, & had never been to a funeral before, I was living in a kids refuge at the time & I had to walk to the church, & I will never ever forget that because & I didn't realise that the church service was only the first part of the funeral, but the only thing that I couldn't get over was that for my mates funeral which I could not believe was that the herse number plate was 666, & I thought that that was in such poor taste, wether anyone was suspicious or not of the number 666, it still had no place for itself at the funeral of a 17 year old kid, & then after the church service I walked back to my refuge in penrith in tears, only to hear a few days later that they went on to the cemetery for his burial, which I was told was where they played "Don't Cry". & because my friend whom died had only just recently moved into his first place away from home, some assholes, that must have found out about it somehow, broke in to his place where he was living & ransacked the place, like a pack of low life scum, so that after my friends parents found out that their son died, they had to deal with picking up the pieces literally from a broken place, as well as their own broken hearts, & the last time I had seen my friend Aaron, I'd had an argument with him that was my fault, & mentally that really, hit me very hard because you just never know,,, then years later when I went to gaol, I had the most realistic dream that came to me of my friend asking me why I was so upset & so I told him, but he just laughed & said mate it's all right, I'm not dead brother, it's all good mate, I'm more alive than anything! that is when I had my one & only conversation with a friend whom had passed away, even though it was years later, & was a dream, "I knew that my friend thought enough about me to let me know that everything was all right", he gave me closure that dream was as real as every waking day, & even though I regretted our last time we met up & I had an argument with my friend that he let me know that everything was allright, I miss my friend Aaron.😔
My box set (Locked and loaded box) came today. Anyone else get theirs yet? It’s really put together nicely with some high quality material. Yeah it’s expensive, but after receiving it I have no buyers remorse at all.
Those box drawers seemed really crappy. Rings in one and then the same exact things again but as pins? Really? Not even a different design? And then a bunch of cheap replica stuff that cost them ZERO to manufacture. The music stuff is great but the extras are lame for that amount of money.
@@Zman82 Yeah! I was super excited when I got it. It was well done imo, but higher quality materials should have been there. I paid $1000 for it and waited 5 months to get it back then. Then I saw them for $350. I was kinda pissed about that. I was happy to get it anyway. 🤷🏻♂️

I freaking love GR now.. I was too young to appreciate it when they were popular back in the late 80s early 90's! So I love being able to hear back stories of the songs and how they were created from romances that happened to the band members! I actually hadn't even thought about Axl Rose up until I seen him at Lisa Marie Presley's memorial service! I was shocked first of all that him and Lisa Marie knew each other but then he started singing and I was like that does not look like Axl.. NOR did it sound like Axl Rose! Bless his heart I felt so bad for him! He has definitely lost his voice.. but he got his ass up there and did it anyways for his friend LMP! So that's when I started being fascinated with Axl and wanted to know everything especially back when they were popular I never had a chance to appreciate what a badass they actually were, and still are even if time has made them look and sound totally! I had no idea Axel had such a horrible childhood! He seems so much more happy now that he has worked through his childhood issues! I honestly thought that the drummer Steve Adler had died from a heroin overdose.. I was so thrilled when I found out that he is still very much live and well! By the way thank you so much for this channel.. very interesting 👌❤️
I read in Marc Canters book that Dont Cry was about Izzys girlfriend at the time Monique who Axl was in love with and who is the black haired girl that he has tattooed on his arm
Don't Cry is my favourite G'n'R ballad. ... actually, second to just one killer ballad, but it's not its' own song, it's an outro. I'm talking about the last part of Rocket Queen, of course. It's one of the very first songs I ever learned on guitar, chord progressions, intro fingerpicking part, and, of course, the epic solo. It was Don't Cry... Paradise City ( chords, riffs, lead hook, but not the actual solo)... Knocking on Heaven's Door (all 3× chords 😌...and those killer, oh-so-simple solos) ...In a Darkened Room (Skid Row - chords + lead hook + solo) ...Monkey Business (riffs + chord/riffs, but no solo. I play it now, tbo...) ...AND.... (🎺 BWOMP Bwer-bwer-Brerrrrrr!!🎶) Little Wing (Skid Row version. Intro clean (with a hair of grit) ...chords.. + solo. → Little Wing quickly became my go-to thing to play whenever I picked up a guitar in front of anyone. It impresses people easy - both non muso's, aswell as muso's - not just guitar players. And everyone has the tune stored back in their head...in the nostalgia part of the brain! And, unlike Stairway + Wonderwall.. it's approved of by other guitar players. We all play it our own way...have our own little take on it. I still go yo it often, 30 years later ... ☺️. I honestly think Axl would do it...it's genuine, and low-key...imagine that...all those years of reticence and then we get, as fans, Axl just being Axl. Be great.
