Experiencing this for the first time in my life, I have never had so much difficulty finding a job. I have degrees, certs and 15 years working in IT and everything that I have been rejected because of the background check. I have gone around local applying to everything I am able to do and still rejected, just this week I have been rejected from 3 jobs because of my past, a cleaner in a department store, delivery driver at autozone, and a lot attendant at home depot. Last week it was even more rejection. The only place that would hire me was McDonalds, but the pay is terrible and I hardly get any hours even if I am put on the schedule. I just don't know how to keep going like this

This video is really helpful. Thanks for making it. Even being arrested and accused of a crime can change so much about your life. Suddenly, you have to really go through those questions to see if they’re asking for you to give them information. It’s really something that other people can learn to grow in and be more compassionate. There’s a lot of talk about justiceand criminal reform, but this is a way where every individual can look at those things differently and really make a difference and I feel like a lot of employees and employment places are far from being as compassionate as they want to look on paper. Very thankful for those companies and people who are.

I am so with you! We actually need to do something! We shouldn't get a life sentence after we have served our debt to society.

I don’t really get the joke I don’t think this applies to a specific race

I don't either. I am white and do well now... But have been a felon for over 16 years and just made a decision a long time ago that I wouldn't let it stop me from working my butt off and making something of myself. I have a lot I could complain about and even blame for not being able to be successful, but I would rather fight through everything and WIN.
