It's awesome how he talked about growing up on Funkadelic way back in this interview and now years later he made Awaken, My Love with that Funkadelic sound!
best rapper to walk the face of the earth. absolutely no bull shit in his lyrics. he grew up tough and deserved to make it big. don't hate on him, he's crazy talented.
its nice to see such an odd black person become so famous and loved. because when your not famous everyone just thinks your weird. I really appreciate you donald
Childish Gambino is definitely a musical genius imo, a huge inspiration to me and definitely one of the greatest of today hands down, I'm an aspiring rapper and am just tryna gain at least a supporter a day on my channel, it would mean the world. Thanks in advance and God bless.
Extremely true speak. Hmm, what kind of rock? Rap is just rap!! Its the same exact way that black people are treated in society. One huge blanket of ignorance. When I say ignorance, know that I am NOT talking about the people who have the blanket put over them (yes there are some) I'm talking about the people who are putting the blanket over them. Think about it for a sec.
Oh ok I never saw that interview but I see what you and Woozy mean now. Thanks for expanding on that I'll look up that interview...I see what you mean with the whole "gay" thing in hip hop btw....rappers nowadays feel like showing who you are and being emotional is gay when its just REAL and what we fans relate to most rather than the materialistic and cool shit, thanks for the feedback!
Childish Gambino is dope!! My new Favorite Rapper. Camp & Pharoahe Monch's W.A.R are my favorite albums of 2011.IDK about the short shorts though!!! LOL!!!
Its weird cause when I found out about Donald Glover as a comedian I was also listening to Childish Gambino but I didn't know they were the same guy. I didn't find out he was Childish Gambino until he talked about it on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and I was like "whaaaat?" lol
I understand what he is saying about the differences in rap and how he doesn't like the negative connotation it gets by the public. Rap is separated into three different styles based on its content. Hood rap is usually what you hear when you listen to Gucci Mane, Lil Bossie, Lil Webbie, and others. Then you have your rap that leans towards pop or R&B. Which is typically what you see Nicki Minaj, Drake, Wiz Khalifa, and Mac Miller doing.
Have a lot more respect for this dude, I completely agree with the fact that there should be separations in Rap, due to the lack of them, the culture of Hip-Hop is suffering. I was put off by the first song that I heard from him, but to be completely honest, I heard a track o that they played with him on a different beat and it wasn't that bad, gonna check the mixtape then the album. At least this dude is being himself like the old Wale, not that new Ambition BS!
@InsanelyAya thanks so much 'Aya'!! He's my hero. I watch his Derrick Comedy stuff a while back and luvd it. I had no idea he was so talented in music and that he's a full blown actor. He's a genius. I will definitely be buying this album. Yes indeeeeeeeeed!! PEACE
i saw the title where it said "black ish and hood ish" and was like huh... that's interesting. i would like to hear about that distinction. but then i was like ooooo! short shorts!
@Fearhumans No. You misunderstand Woozy's comment. If you watch Donald Glover interview with Craig Ferguson, Don jokingly flirts with Craig. I kno its a joke, the audience knows it's a joke, but this sort of humour and ability to not take one's self seriously is not a common trait among rappers. The point Woozy was making is that, Don relaxed nature and willingness to exhibit emotion would be frowned upon by mainstream rap fans/rappers and thus he would be marginalised and accused of being 'gay'
@LovelyWoozy Ok, awesome response I see what you mean now. Thanks alot for explaining yourself this makes aloft of sense to me now and I fully agree with you bro!
if the short shorts have a purpose, then what is the purpose of the "where's Waldo?" beanie ALMOST covering your head?? hahahahaha but dope shit regardless, I dig.
It's weird to hear about someone going from forms of music like Funkadelic and Eddie Hazel to Hip-Hop. Usually it's the other way around. I was all about rap until my late teen years when I started getting into a bunch of other genres. Now, at 22, I rarely listen to Hip-Hop.
@Fearhumans On the money, my friend. You nailed it. Yeah look up the interview. It's here on youtube. Probably one of the funniest and most surreal interviews I've ever seen. It is strange that rappers feel they have to appear to be the meanest mutha about. Who told them to act that way?? My guess is music executives who wouldn't kno hip hop if it smackd them in the mouth. LOL. If u like Gambino u should listen to JAY ANT - 'You dont understand'. He's got a freemixtape out as well...
everyone all over the internet is saying kasuwell is a beast and i think you guys will to just search for kasuwell and check out the music some songs you may not like but thats the power of being a diverse artist there are so many styles there here is a example song watch?v=8qB7Ux8-3Jw
It's awesome how he talked about growing up on Funkadelic way back in this interview and now years later he made Awaken, My Love with that Funkadelic sound!
He said the word "goober." My goodness. Perfect.
best rapper to walk the face of the earth. absolutely no bull shit in his lyrics. he grew up tough and deserved to make it big. don't hate on him, he's crazy talented.
Alot of respect for Gambino he's not afraid to be himself alotta rappers need to learn that.
Here after Yoshinoya doing some research
In love with the album..ITS EPIC!! I have crazy love for him!
Childish Gambino and Drake don't even fit on the same chart, CG is on such a different level.
this guy is insanely talented, good rapper good actor and fuckin' funny, got way more to offer the world than most people on tv

thank you for this interview hardknock tv. you asked good questions that prompted real and wise responses. i needed this!
the fact that he said goober just made him that much more epic
I love how he doesn't change facial expressions at all when he starts quoting his own lyrics
beat at the end was fire
What I love about Childish is that he's not "rap cool". He's just himself.
Dude, gambino goes fuckin' hard in his shows.
Finally a Black rapper who speaks and raps about stuff of substance. #BlackConsciousness
Extremely true speak. Hmm, what kind of rock? Rap is just rap!! Its the same exact way that black people are treated in society. One huge blanket of ignorance. Its weird cause when I found out about Donald Glover as a comedian I was also listening to Childish Gambino but I didn't know they were the same guy. I didn't find out he was Childish Gambino until he talked about it on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and I was like "whaaaat?" lol

Drake and Childish = Realest in the game

@LovelyWoozy Ok, awesome response I see what you mean now. Thanks alot for explaining yourself this makes aloft of sense to me now and I fully agree with you bro!
fucken love this man
I agree for the biggest part, but he is more witty than most mainstream rappers, even if he's just doing brag rap or party rap.
if the short shorts have a purpose, then what is the purpose of the "where's Waldo?" beanie ALMOST covering your head?? hahahahaha but dope shit regardless, I dig.
