- On July 17, 2022 in Florida, officers stopped a suspected drunk driver. The woman had been observed driving without her headlights on despite it being just past 10PM as well as drifting from her lane and into the concrete median. This is footage of the events that followed.

They do that because if they dont people say they were to forceful and they didnt give her a chance to deescalate and the such. The cops knew from the moment they pulled her over she was gonna be an issue but they have to do the dog and pony show to get the end point it was always going to end up at.

I believe the cops DO abuse their authority sometimes. They need to be regulated by other cops. But our citizens need to be a little more fearful of speaking/fighting back when they are actually in the wrong.
I've wondered why they don't try that to deescalate, but seeing as she immediately took that opportunity to just further antagonise the officers incoherently, it's not preferable.

He completely and totally overpowered her at the start (grabbing her wrists), but as he arrested / cuffed her he was using no power at all. She has no idea what manhandled means. To this cops credit he soft handled her. But he could have ended this encounter in seconds if the body cameras were off. (Note: this is a good thing, I'm just saying. It's good cops are more careful. Especially men against women.)
