What I don't get is my other Christians are so angry and want this to fail when we are just trying to practice as our savior did. 3hy is there so much talk of this being a cult and hoping it does not succeed? Judaizers required Torah observance and adherence for salvation. That is where the difference is. Hebraic roots simply means that a justified person who is saved may choose to adhere to the Law and may be sanctified through its observance as well as repentance. With much love and respect, if anyone here believes the law is a burden please read psalm 119 (all of it). Then, ask you self this question. Did King David believe the law was a burden or did he love the law? Then read Acts 6:12-14. Were the witnesses who accused Stephen of blaspheming against God and the law true or false witnesses? Also, when the witnesses accused Jesus of changing the customs of Moses, were they true or false witnesses? The Bible tells us plainly that they were false witnesses. Stephen was innocent of their accusations. Throughout the Old Testament God said that His commandments were forever, to be throughout all your generations and in Deuteronomy 13 warned the Israelites against prophets who would arrise and would think to change the law. The Jews who walked amongst Jesus and believed He was the Messiah knew the Old Testament and understood His teachings from that perspective. We, 2000 years later look at the Bible with Western eyes but originally for the first believers to follow Jesus as teacher and Messiah they knew He couldn't change the law (because God had warned them already). We now say in the New Testament that the law is a burden, but... God, in the Old Testament (Tanakh) told His people that the law was very near to them, it was given as a blessing, failing to follow it would bring a curse and that it was not a burden. (What I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you.) With all due respect I choose to believe the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in this matter.
I am Torah persuant. Meaning, any of the laws of the Torah I am able to keep, I do my best to keep. I am a woman, so I don't keep the laws relating to the Levites, men, small children or those I am unable to keep living in Australia. However, I love the instructions of our Father and I guard and honour and 'keep' to the best of my ability, those instructions that pertain to me as a woman and wife. First and foremost, I am saved by the blood of Messiah Yeshua (Jesus Christ) and in no way do I keep the law to be saved. I keep the instructions of our Father to show Him honour and respect, to do what pleases Him, because His instructions are good and I believe from scripture they are the constitution of the Kingdom of God. Living in gentile lands, we keep hundreds, if not thousands of man made laws that have nothing to do with the Almighty (although many are inspired by His teachings). Hi, I think we are Ephraim and we are the lost sheep. I think we are the arrows for the bow of Judah. I just started researching this not by my own, but by the leading of the Holy Spirit. A few weeks ago after fervent prayer before bed, I awoke in the middle of the night. God spoke two words in my mind. The words were "Holy Convocation". I didn't know what the meaning was to the second word until I looked it up the next morning. Everywhere in the bible those two words are, they are in conjunction with the 7th day Sabbath and God's feast days. I asked and I received. I have no idea even how to start celebrating these feasts. I ordered a book to help, written by Batya Wooten, that along with scripture will help me learn. I can't believe I'm even looking into this. I was raised to believe the laws were nailed to the cross. I even mocked the Hebrew roots movement, I said "oh no, they are falling from grace!" I can tell you with certainty, had I not been led by the Holy Spirit, I wouldn't be looking into this at all. Moses was given the Torah {teaching} as an eternal covenant on Mt Sinai. Read Gods words to Moses after He gave him the 10 Commandments as an everlasting covenant. The Torah will also be taught during the Millennial reign of Christ. (Is. 2;3}.What confuses many people is its relevance and its application after Christs Ascension. I think youll find your answer when you consider that it is eternal. Everlasting has a different meaning in Hebrew. Many things are called to be everlasting in the New Testament, yet they refer to unknown periods of time. In the book of Daniel, the word everlasting refers to a period of three days, so I suggest you do your research.

A couple years ago I heard the term Israelite and had little idea what it really meant.As a person guilty of running past the straight and narrow largely wandering through the wilderness for about 12 years now I decided to start reading my bible. After hundreds of hours of reading and studying I will say modern Christianity is far from biblical. Not surprising it is similar to Catholicism in many ways but Mary worship( yes they do, I read the catechisms too). Read Deuteronomy 13:1-5...Does God change? Can His commandments change? Christ came to die for your sins not the law! It is a fearful thing to be in the hands of a living God. Whoa unto him that tramples our Messiah! One God, one people, one set of rules for all. The masoretic text adds grammar swaying some of the meanings. Adding words here and there which is a big no no. Some versions actually have missing verses. NIV has 16 verses deleted from the Bible. Yes I believe all of Paul's teachings. He was a Torah scholar. He knew the Torah inside out. You must grasp the OT in order to truly understand the NT. It is senseless to start the book 2/3 in and get a clear understanding of it's narrative.
It is ignoring Peter's description of the Law of Moses as a "yoke" in Acts chapter 15. It is ignoring the text of Galatians chapter 3 where Paul states that the law was "added" 430 years "after" the promise to Abraham "until" the Seed (Christ) could come to whom the promise was made. It also ignores Paul's comparing the Sinai covenant to a covenant of bondage, and his admonition to the Galatian church that they were to "cast out" the Sinai covenant of bondage. It also ignores the New Covenant promise in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled in Hebrews 8:6-13. In Hebrews 8:13 we find that the New covenant has made the Sinai covenant "obsolete". Those promoting the modern Hebrew Roots movement are modern day Judaisers, no different from those Paul battled during the first century. The New Covenant commandments are found in 1 John. 1Jn 3:23 And this is his commandment, That we should believe on the name of his Son Jesus Christ, and love one another, as he gave us commandment.

Bible defines sin as transgression of Gods Law! His Laws are righteous and good! So to say that the law is done away with than there is no sin in the world since Jesus died for us! But we know that is not true! Our world is drowning in sin!
Evan U if you look at the commandments they are broken down into what Jesus said. First part deals with our relationship with God and the last part with how our relationship with others should be. They were not new commandments but rather the old reworded. Remember God is unchanging.

Evan U when Moses went up to get the commandments when he came down the people rejected Gods call for them to be a priestly nation. Not a nation WITH priests but a priestly nation. God wanted us to have a relationship with him more like what was in the Garden of Eden. The people rejected this outright! So a priesthood was set up. When Jesus came he once again made us a nation of priests. Priesthood was abolished! The Jews sacrifices were rejected out right by God! Never again was the yearly scapegoat accepted! However, NONE of that has anything to do God’s Feasts. Gods feasts were in place BEFORE the events that took place in the 40 years wilderness. God said HIS feasts were forever. The early church always did the feasts. There is an excellent book called “Epidemic, Investigating the Infected Roots of Judaism and Christianity”. A most excellent book. It examines what Jesus set up and how very quickly the church started to wonder away from how Jesus wanted our relationship with Him to be. We started following man rules. Got away from what was right. Started pushing our relationship with God further and further away. The apostles did NOT call themselves "Christians", they called themselves "NOTZRIM" (Nazarenes). "Christians" is an ENGLISH word, it did not exist 2,000 years ago, where it appears in English translations of the scriptures, it is just that; a TRANSLATION.
Many that do not observe Torah come with the argument that the apostle Paul taught that the Law was Burdensome or that we are now not under the law but under grace they get these ideas from passages such as Romans 6:14, Romans 7:6, Romans 7:4, etc. When reading the with the Torah in mind you might think that Paul is referring to the law being done away with and it being burdensome. Although many don't consider what Law in these passages Paul was referring to..... Could it be that Paul is referring to the Law of Sin and death that it is burdensome and done away with by Jesus or Yeshua dying on the cross? Because that is the exact Law that Paul refers to later in Romans 8:2; “because the Spirit’s law of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.” Romans 8:2 HCSB. Jesus states that he did not come to destroy the law but to fulfill it (Matthew 5:17). He brings the Law to its fullness throughout the New Testament, a example is Mathew 5:21-48.
In Mathew 5:21-48 he shows those listening that sin starts in the heart it's not just the outward act of the sin that makes it sin but it starts in the heart.
This movement started in the 1800's with a group called the Seventh day Adventist. The Sabbath, the sanctuary, Isreal, all were being taught . Read The Great Controversy by EGW. God sends a prohet to prepare the way before he does anything. The book brings to light long forgotten passages and history. We believe Christ came in the flesh. And the Torah testified of Christ. We follow the dietary guidance, most are vegetarians because that was Adam and Eve's diet. We believe Israel is a spiritual kingdom made up of all who does the Father's will. God has others not of this fold :)
Except that in the garden of eden they lived forever until they sinned and the rest is history. The Bible doesn't say anything about being a vegetarian. There's only a few restrictions in diet but that's what jews follow not Christianity.

That's a false Doctrine. The record of the New Testament informs us that no one will be justified by works of the law. The recordings of the New Testament also informs us that the righteousness of men is as a filthy rag in the eyes of God. Which means that when you seek to attain your righteousness through self works of the law God considers your efforts to be like the dirty rag used by a woman during her menstrual cycle. God's righteousness and Holiness dwells far above any capabilities of men attaining outside of having faith in Christ Jesus and his death and Resurrection. The recordings of the New Testament also informs us that salvation is a gift given through gods and measurable Grace and received by faith. So when was the last time you had to work for a gift? The Bible also informs us that those that are of Faith are the sons of Abraham. Those that are of Faith are the true remnant of God. Those that look to the law for their salvation have separated themselves from the grace of God

Galatians 3:13 13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: He did not do away with the law. He delivered us from the curse. He called out the Pharisaical law of the Talmud -man made doctrine, man adding to the Word of Yah. "being made a curse for us" He was teaching how to rightly divide The Torah.
"until" all things are fulfilled. It was fulfilled at John 19:30, when He said "It is finished". Based on Jeremiah 31:31-34, the Israelites had broken the contract. He is the only one that fulfilled it. If you think you are fulfilling it, you are deceiving yourself. Based on Galatians chapter 3, the law was "added" 430 years "after" the promise to Abraham "until" the seed (Christ) could come to whom the promise was made. We find that same little word "until" here again showing that the law of Moses was temporary. We also find in the same chapter that the inheritance does not come through the law. In Galatians chapter 4 Paul calls the Sinai covenant a covenant of bondage and in chapter 5 he calls it a yoke, just as Peter did in Acts chapter 15. There is nothing wrong with the law. There is something wrong with us. There is nothing wrong with keeping the Sabbath or the feasts as long as you do not judge others for not doing the same, based on Colossians 2:16-17. Otherwise, you have become a Judaiser.

Jesus + Hebrew Roots is bordering on heresy! Yes, the OT and NT, from Genesis to Revelation point to Christ, but His never ending Grace and Mercy is all sufficient for all times or else is null and void and of no effect! No amount of law keeping will win anyone greater favor with an Almighty and Sovereign God!
There is also a sect of the Hebrew roots movement in which they reject the writings of Rabbi Shaul/ Paul calling him a false prophet by the standards of Torah. Some go as far as calling him the false prophet and or Antichrist preaching another gospel from that of Yeshua. I disagree with this sect of the Hebrew roots for multiple reasons. Anybody like to expound?
They reject Paul because he himself exposed the Hebrew Roots as being unbiblical back in his own day- if you reject Paul then you are rejecting someone who wrote half of the New Testament..He rightly points out that those who insist on keeping the Law(although Jesus Himself said we are dead to the Law, because we are in His New Covenant) MUST keep the WHOLE Law or they FAIL- there was only ONE who ever did it and when he did he FULFILLED it and made the New Covenant we are currently under..for anyone to go back to keeping the Letter(Law) is diminishing Jesus and His Work and I'm sorry but that isn't biblical.

The problem with the Hebrew roots movement is that it is returning to Judaism, which is based on 1st century Phariseeism. But John the Baptist, the apostles, the early Christians, and Yeshua himself were not associated with either the Sadducees or Pharisees, but rather with the Essenes. The Essenes of course are from the religious sect that wrote the Dead Sea Scrolls. What this means is that scripture must not be read in the culture and context of Judaism, but rather through the lens of the Essenes.
I see Yahshua, the Apostles and the Prophets were set apart from any of those groups including the essenes... The scriptures are the inspired word and the standard, and it is through them we find YAHWEH and HIS Purpose, He is calling His People and is setting up His Kingdom in these days.. What I don’t understand is why some people are so bent on learning Hebrew when most of the New Testament earliest Manuscripts where we get our Bible …are in Greek and Aramaic… not just Hebrew. Jesus even spoke Aramaic in all likelihood (do some research) …but somehow they tend to elevate the Hebrew language they don’t even understand over languages they actually speak…

Nehemiah's Back he was speaking to Jews in this passage. There was still a possibility that the Jews would accept him and the start of the millennium reign. However the Jews rejected him and the church age began. Revelation was given to the apostle Paul after this for the gentiles. 1 Corinthians 15: 1-4 is the only gospel.

When a law is fulfilled it is no longer effective. Just when a warranty is fulfilled on a product it fulfilled it will be honored until the faulty part works. That is what Jesus did . Jesus fulfilled it once and for all. The old covenant was faulty, it didn't do the job it was supposed to do. So God made a new covenant that worked better.Jesus warranty never runs out.
When something is paid for you don't have to keep paying for it , so is the law. We don't have to live under condemnation of the law. when living under condemnation of the law your past sins are always there. I was saved 2 years ago and started going to church first Pentecostal church, the Holy Spirit said no. Then I went to a Baptist church and stayed a year. But I never took man’s word for what the Bible says but to study and understand it for myself 2Tim2:15 I have been holy sprit lead from the beginning being lead back to Yesuah and the truth, I am so excited I never thought two years ago I would be here as I thought the church on the corner had the truth but I was wrong. What I don't get is my other Christians are so angry and want this to fail when we are just trying to practice as our savior did. 3hy is there so much talk of this being a cult and hoping it does not succeed? The modern church has never felt right to me. Even going to a conservative church it felt wrong and I couldn't figure it out. Hebraic roots simply means that a justified person who is saved may choose to adhere to the Law and may be sanctified through its observance as well as repentance. With much love and respect, if anyone here believes the law is a burden please read psalm 119 (all of it). Then, ask you self this question. Did King David believe the law was a burden or did he love the law?
Then read Acts 6:12-14. Were the witnesses who accused Stephen of blaspheming against God and the law true or false witnesses? Also, when the witnesses accused Jesus of changing the customs of Moses, were they true or false witnesses? The Bible tells us plainly that they were false witnesses. Stephen was innocent of their accusations.
Throughout the Old Testament God said that His commandments were forever, to be throughout all your generations and in Deuteronomy 13 warned the Israelites against prophets who would arrise and would think to change the law. The Jews who walked amongst Jesus and believed He was the Messiah knew the Old Testament and understood His teachings from that perspective.
We, 2000 years later look at the Bible with Western eyes but originally for the first believers to follow Jesus as teacher and Messiah they knew He couldn't change the law (because God had warned them already).
We now say in the New Testament that the law is a burden, but... God, in the Old Testament (Tanakh) told His people that the law was very near to them, it was given as a blessing, failing to follow it would bring a curse and that it was not a burden. (What I am commanding you today is not too difficult for you.) With all due respect I choose to believe the God of Abraham, Isaac and Jacob in this matter.

Do you follow all the law?
I am Torah persuant. Meaning, any of the laws of the Torah I am able to keep, I do my best to keep. I am a woman, so I don't keep the laws relating to the Levites, men, small children or those I am unable to keep living in Australia. However, I love the instructions of our Father and I guard and honour and 'keep' to the best of my ability, those instructions that pertain to me as a woman and wife.
First and foremost, I am saved by the blood of Messiah Yeshua (Jesus Christ) and in no way do I keep the law to be saved. I keep the instructions of our Father to show Him honour and respect, to do what pleases Him, because His instructions are good and I believe from scripture they are the constitution of the Kingdom of God.
Living in gentile lands, we keep hundreds, if not thousands of man made laws that have nothing to do with the Almighty (although many are inspired by His teachings). My husband and I desire to observe the instructions of our Father who created us.

I think we are Ephraim and we are the lost sheep. I think we are the arrows for the bow of Judah. I just started researching this not by my own, but by the leading of the Holy Spirit. A few weeks ago after fervent prayer before bed, I awoke in the middle of the night. God spoke two words in my mind. The words were "Holy Convocation". I didn't know what the meaning was to the second word until I looked it up the next morning.
Everywhere in the bible those two words are, they are in conjunction with the 7th day Sabbath and God's feast days. I asked and I received. I have no idea even how to start celebrating these feasts. I ordered a book to help, written by Batya Wooten, that along with scripture will help me learn.
I can't believe I'm even looking into this. I was raised to believe the laws were nailed to the cross. I even mocked the Hebrew roots movement, I said "oh no, they are falling from grace!" I can tell you with certainty, had I not been led by the Holy Spirit, I wouldn't be looking into this at all.

Moses was given the Torah {teaching} as an eternal covenant on Mt Sinai. Read Gods words to Moses after He gave him the 10 Commandments as an everlasting covenant. The Torah will also be taught during the Millennial reign of Christ. (Is. 2;3}.What confuses many people is its relevance and its application after Christs Ascension. I think youll find your answer when you consider that it is eternal. Its not a means of salvation, its a means to expose sin, and show the believer how to live here on earth.without them we wouldnt know what pleases and displeases God.
Everlasting has a different meaning in Hebrew. Many things are called to be everlasting in the New Testament, yet they refer to unknown periods of time. In the book of Daniel, the word everlasting refers to a period of three days, so I suggest you do your research.

+kenny loves Jesus No, I do not believe in the doctrine of the trinity. Yes I believe the whole Bible to be Truth. I also believe many modern translated versions are biased. The masoretic text adds grammar swaying some of the meanings. Adding words here and there which is a big no no. Some versions actually have missing verses. NIV has 16 verses deleted from the Bible. Yes I believe all of Paul's teachings. He was a Torah scholar. He knew the Torah inside out. You must grasp the OT in order to truly understand the NT. It is senseless to start the book 2/3 in and get a clear understanding of it's narrative.

It is ignoring the text of Galatians chapter 3 where Paul states that the law was "added" 430 years "after" the promise to Abraham "until" the Seed (Christ) could come to whom the promise was made. It also ignores Paul's comparing the Sinai covenant to a covenant of bondage, and his admonition to the Galatian church that they were to "cast out" the Sinai covenant of bondage. It also ignores the New Covenant promise in Jeremiah 31:31-34, which is found fulfilled in Hebrews 8:6-13. In Hebrews 8:13 we find that the New covenant has made the Sinai covenant "obsolete". Those promoting the modern Hebrew Roots movement are modern day Judaisers, no different from those Paul battled during the first century. The New Covenant commandments are found in 1 John.

Evan U if you look at the commandments they are broken down into what Jesus said. First part deals with our relationship with God and the last part with how our relationship with others should be. They were not new commandments but rather the old reworded. Remember God is unchanging.

The old covenant law (including the Ten Commandments) is the written law. You wouldn’t instinctively know to keep the Sabbath or feast days. You’re taught to do that from others or from reading the letter of the law.

When Paul went to go keep the feast of weeks in Jerusalem for the sake of the Gospel, he didn’t invite any of the Christians with him. He said his farewells and went with a couple of companions. Why didn’t he encourage them all to keep the feast? If we’re to keep old covenant commandments then surely he would have brought everyone with him.
Evan U when Moses went up to get the commandments when he came down the people rejected Gods call for them to be a priestly nation. Not a nation WITH priests but a priestly nation. God wanted us to have a relationship with him more like what was in the Garden of Eden. The people rejected this outright! So a priesthood was set up. When Jesus came he once again made us a nation of priests. Priesthood was abolished! The Jews sacrifices were rejected out right by God! Never again was the yearly scapegoat accepted! However, NONE of that has anything to do God’s Feasts. Gods feasts were in place BEFORE the events that took place in the 40 years wilderness. God said HIS feasts were forever. The early church always did the feasts. There is an excellent book called “Epidemic, Investigating the Infected Roots of Judaism and Christianity”. A most excellent book. It examines what Jesus set up and how very quickly the church started to wonder away from how Jesus wanted our relationship with Him to be. We started following man rules. Got away from what was right. Started pushing our relationship with God further and further away. For goodness sakes on the RCC the people are taught they CANNOT have a 1 on 1 relationship with Jesus and can only communicate with Jesus though the priesthood! 😳

Many that do not observe Torah come with the argument that the apostle Paul taught that the Law was Burdensome or that we are now not under the law but under grace they get these ideas from passages such as Romans 6:14, Romans 7:6, Romans 7:4, etc. When reading the with the Torah in mind you might think that Paul is referring to the law being done away with and it being burdensome. Although many don't consider what Law in these passages Paul was referring to..... Could it be that Paul is referring to the Law of Sin and death that it is burdensome and done away with by Jesus or Yeshua dying on the cross? Because that is the exact Law that Paul refers to later in Romans 8:2; “because the Spirit’s law of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.”
Romans 8:2 HCSB. Jesus states that he did not come to destroy the law but to fulfill it (Matthew 5:17). He brings the Law to its fullness throughout the New Testament, a example is Mathew 5:21-48.

That's a false Doctrine. The record of the New Testament informs us that no one will be justified by works of the law. The recordings of the New Testament also informs us that the righteousness of men is as a filthy rag in the eyes of God. Which means that when you seek to attain your righteousness through self works of the law God considers your efforts to be like the dirty rag used by a woman during her menstrual cycle. God's righteousness and Holiness dwells far above any capabilities of men attaining outside of having faith in Christ Jesus and his death and Resurrection. So which of the Levitical laws are to be kept? Jesus said if you do not keep every letter of the law, you are guilty of failing all of them! Eating or not eating pork, keeping the feast days, Saturday Sabbath keeping, etc., are all works based and saying that the shed blood of Christ is not enough. Jesus + Hebrew Roots is bordering on heresy! Yes, the OT and NT, from Genesis to Revelation point to Christ, but His never ending Grace and Mercy is all sufficient for all times or else is null and void and of no effect! We are dead to the law - correct! But, which law? No-one seems to ask that. It's the law of sin and death. We are freed from that, hallelujah! Then, if you read what the Messiah said in Matthew 5, you'll notice nothing from the Torah "law" will be removed until heaven and earth pass away! Last I looked, they're still here.
The problem with the Hebrew roots movement is that it is returning to Judaism, which is based on 1st century Phariseeism. But John the Baptist, the apostles, the early Christians, and Yeshua himself were not associated with either the Sadducees or Pharisees, but rather with the Essenes. The Essenes of course are from the religious sect that wrote the Dead Sea Scrolls. What this means is that scripture must not be read in the culture and context of Judaism, but rather through the lens of the Essenes.
I see Yahshua, the Apostles and the Prophets were set apart from any of those groups including the essenes... The scriptures are the inspired word and the standard, and it is through them we find YAHWEH and HIS Purpose, He is calling His People and is setting up His Kingdom in these days.. What I don’t understand is why some people are so bent on learning Hebrew when most of the New Testament earliest Manuscripts where we get our Bible …are in Greek and Aramaic… not just Hebrew. Jesus even spoke Aramaic in all likelihood (do some research) …but somehow they tend to elevate the Hebrew language they don’t even understand over languages they actually speak…

Paul the apostle spoke against the Jews who sought to go back into the bondage of the law. Was the sacrifice of Christ not enough to free you from the requirements of the law? You can observe whatever you want, just don’t make it a requirement for salvation because that is not in the bible. Are you good enough to keep the whole law? Then why did Christ die? Don’t pick and choose, keep all of the 613 laws

Nehemiah's Back he was speaking to Jews in this passage. There was still a possibility that the Jews would accept him and the start of the millennium reign. However the Jews rejected him and the church age began. Revelation was given to the apostle Paul after this for the gentiles. 1 Corinthians 15: 1-4 is the only gospel.

Nehemiah's Back I am not mislead by anyone. I read my bible and have an understanding of the truth. I am not telling anyone not to acknowledge the law, but perfect keeping off the law is impossible, hence the need for Jesus. The bible is clear.

Yes, you are right I do not live by the law. My faith is in the finished works of Jesus and not what commandments I was able to keep today or tomorrow. It has nothing to do with me and what I do and everything to do with how Christ loved me and died for me while I was still a sinner. It's a relationship not a religion.

When a law is fulfilled it is no longer effective. Just when a warranty is fulfilled on a product it fulfilled it will be honored until the faulty part works. That is what Jesus did . Jesus fulfilled it once and for all. The old covenant was faulty, it didn't do the job it was supposed to do. So God made a new covenant that worked better.Jesus warranty never runs out.
When something is paid for you don't have to keep paying for it , so is the law. We don't have to live under condemnation of the law. when living under condemnation of the law your past sins are always there. So it block the blessing of God , under the grace, it says what sins are you talking about, you are clean through the word and that is Jesus.
