5 Ideas for Campaign Settings | D&D | The Dungeon

Today I want to talk about some different setting ideas that could spark a campaign. Sometimes my personal campaigns start with an idea for a story, but sometimes they start with the idea for a setting, and the story comes from there.

I have a soft spot for the optimism of Star Trek. So I recently did a campaign where an alien race of Orcs called Hollow Orcs descended onto the planet. The governments united but it left the door open for a small group to seize control. Overall it was a fun campaign and the players seemed really engaged to the story, so overall it was a win.

Nice. I like it, especially the idea of the small group trying to seize the opportunity to take power during the larger crisis.
