Foolish notion, lol. But I do feel sad that she can't experience being a normal woman anymore, with the scar, and massive hunter muscles. Probably can't experience.
I agree with the comments saying it would be nice to have a happy ending, but one of the points of this story is to show how trash and dumb humankind was, and still is, it's important for the ending to be like real life, and the character's stories are closing up, and i couldn't be more happy to know that they were able to change and live up to their goals, i'd love to see thorffin get a talk to his father and he asks like "Did i atone? Did i do good?" and his father says, "Yes." and yeah... this is just me though, sorry if i'm being controversial.
Well depending on what version of Thorfinn they use he can still have good ending. Snorri is a famous person for Icelandic people and many people trace their legacy to him.
if they go for the historical ending they still need to have snorri be born, i’d love for snorri to be about 6 when thorfinn dies so it can parallel thors’ death
I mean the colony in Vinland ultimately fails so going by history I think we can safely say that at best Vinland Saga ends bittersweet with Thorfinn and his loved ones leaving Vinland and going back to Iceland, but I assume it will probably end a little more violently and tragically than that. We still have quite a bit of time before it ends though since Thorfinn and Gudrid's child still has to be born
I'd also like to add that one of the points to humankind is bearing true. People like Hild have seen their fair share of the worst of us, they are right to be skeptical. They will never offer their respect to men who are just sometimeing it. They want us to be more than ideals and flowery language. To be worthy of the name despite hardship and tragedy
I'm hoping it's bitter sweet, but not morose or bad. I understand the actual history, but the way that Yukimura plays with history hopefully signifies that he will find a way to still give us a touching and beautiful ending, without it just being tragic for the sake of it. Thorfinn as a character has come so far, and the current chapters have shown how much has changed for everyone in the story. I'm hoping that Yukimura will find a way to bend history a bit to give us an ending that makes sense for this story. Because Thorfinn does understand the possible flaws with his ideology, but he's driven to hold to his values and find a different way to create peace. Judging by Yukimura's work throughout Vinland Saga's history, I believe that he will find a way tie it all together.
What do you mean downhill? In chapter 191, Hild finally forgives Thorfinn and it was very emotional. Given the "prophecy", and real historical events, it will be painful to see this manga end. Thorfinn's pacifism is going to be tested pretty soon. I have a feeling we're finally building up to a big test of his pacifism and where it'll take him/how it will end. I'm fine if the story separates from real-life history at this point. This is a story that deserves a happier ending than the failed Vinland colonization that happened in real-life.
@@professorcookie1744 it must end like in real life, this "pacifism" will never work, this thorfin vision of pacifism doesn't work for everyone so it should end up like it did in real life, not everyone is convinced by pretty words
@@professorcookie1744 I think it's better to happen the way it happened in history than to invent a mequetrefe ending "the good guy convinced the people wrong and so they lived happily ever after"
