On June 12 (the anniversary of my son's death in a storm that hit TX years ago) my family and many friends gathered in a small town only about 15 miles from Perryton. We held a prayer vigil and candlelight service asking Almighty God to please spare the TX panhandle from destructive weather, at least until after Father's Day. In advance, we sang, offered up prayers and begged God to spare us. Then, the tornado hit Perryton. God totally ignored us. We prayed IN ADVANCE. We're broken.

I live only 25 minutes from there and I have multiple friends that live there and there sadly was a 11 year old boy who was one of the three found dead but prayers for all of the community

I’ve never understood why people choose to live in states where devastation like this happens annually. I understand you can’t live life in fear, but every year your life, family, and home is at high risk.

Maybe people just don't think about the risks living in those areas, or if they do, they just hope that it never happens to them, at least minimally, or to their loved ones. Could also be that they have deep family roots there that it's just hard to imagine living anywhere else. People just have their reasons for living in such areas.
Name a place in the U.S. that doesn't experience tornadoes, hurricanes, or earthquakes where you'd be willing to live.
By the way tornado damage can be intense but it's limited to a fairly small area. Notice how old some of the buildings in this video are?
