Resetting the RTK is what Trimble recommends in harsh environments. It basically just drops the real time initialization. Reset Space Vehicle (SV) Tracking, means it will drop all of the satellites along with the real time initialization and then re-acquire the satellites then re-initialize. Trimble doesn't recommend doing this in the canopy since it will take quite a bit longer to get initialized again. But if you have the time, it would be still be a good check shot method. Thanks for watching.
Hi! I'm using R10 and RTK most of the time... but I never ever made a shot a point on that thick canopy. Am I missing something on the settings? Please ... I need your help. Thanks in advance...
Hi Lester, you will need to at least be running a R10 Model 2 with firmware at V6.04 (minimum) to be able to start using ProPoint. ProPoint is what we use to get in the canopy. If you are using the older R10 Model 1 (latest fw V5.50) for the base/rover, then the best you can do is check on all available satellites in your survey style and make sure to reset the RTK once you are in the canopy. But I highly recommend you contact your local Trimble Dealer and have them come out to demo the new R12i. You will be amazed for sure. I hope this helps.
I'm a surveyor from Liberia thanks for this video it's helpful for my improvement as a surveyor.
This is a great video!
Whats the difference with Reset RTK vs Reset SV tracking? We use Reset SV on our R12i(s)
