    nice job Rasta, I had a convenient store that had a couple of them, the customers wouldn't close the damn doors tight, so the product would thaw then the manager would roll it out and call for service. took a couple times of that to figure what was going on, told them to be sure the door were kept shut , and haven't had a problem since. keep up the good work and thanks for posting.

    the filter-drier has not changed? Interesting tip on the burner. Not very clear what the cause of failure of the chiller. To connect to a service pipe, we use the lancing device and clamping pliers. Then there's no need to remove gas from the circuit and install service fitting. This allows to evaluate the performance of the refrigeration circuit without refilling.

    I am surprised you worked on that, Those things are highly disposable. We had a deep freezer designed in much the same way, and finally failed. Out the door it went.

    Cool video what type of tip is that on your torch ? I’m thinking about getting a new set up, the one the company gave me is enormous from brazing 1-1/2 or copper. I repair a lot of small refrigeration equipment

    A lot of those here run on isobutane, usually scrap them if they look short of gas.

    With such a small charge unit, how much does your hose length come into play? Perhaps not critical on this type unit but what about smaller ice machines? Do you use a shorter length hose?

    • @NorCal-refrigeration
      @NorCal-refrigeration  7 лет назад +2

      david johnson on ice machines to check I have just a gauge with a fitting on it. Hose can hold 2 oz.

      @davejohnsonnola2758 7 лет назад

      Nor-Cal Refrigeration & H.V.A.C So if recharging an ice machine that holds 22 oz, you would set your charging scale to 24 oz?

    • @NorCal-refrigeration
      @NorCal-refrigeration  7 лет назад +2

      david johnson you could purge your manifold zero the scale and weigh in 22 oz. I use hoses with ball valves on the end. Makes this easy to do. 👍

    I have an ISA gelato freezer, it turns on but no cold air, (can't feel any type of air). The compressor turns off after a few minutes. Any clues wjere to start diagnosing? Thank you.

    Hello sir, I am a new tech and have not had a chance to work on anything without access ports. What is the best way to access these units, did you use a piercing valve to recover first and then cut and add in the shrader? just wondering. Nice video thanks.

      We do the same thing with PTAC units in the motel rooms.

    Did I miss a stage there, you fitted a shrader stub for access which would've meant losing the gas charge before you could fit that?
