A few more words on Subaru's speech. What got me the most was his line [Do you know what I was doing before I met you all? Nothing. I had all the freedom and time and I haven't done a single thing]. It's amazing how much it says of his character and shows where the roots of his self-hatred come from. He is a disappointment. To himself more than to anyone else. He brought that thought with him, and tried to erase it with meeting and surpassing people's expectations, but once again he failed and disappointed himself. Imo, he says it's not easy to give up because stroking his Ego was what he's used to do, and giving up is akin to withdrawal from his dream of great and awesome self. Being trapped in a spiral of depression, it's obvious he started defining himself by his failures. Heh... the one and only time he gave up he chose to do it in front of the only person who wont allow it. Talk about tough luck.
If you think about it, Rem did quite a job as a psychologist there. She didn't follow Subaru's mood, didn't condone his misery, didn't show him any pity - instead she overloaded his brain with positive thoughts like family, children, her affection, trust, faith, reminded him of great things he did - so he simply forgot how hurt he was an hour ago and snapped out of it. OMG thank you, you're the only person I've seen that understanded Subaru when he said that he loves emilia, that when you love someone, it won't simply change when someone else has been kind to you. If you love someone, you love that person only, if he accepted rem there, it would mean that he wasn't really in love with emilia at all.

amazing reaction! i'm so glad that you guys understand the whole 'i love Emilia' moment. The community was in flames when that happened which caused so much unwanted hate towards Subaru AND Emilia. One of my favourite episodes!
well said there is great hate towards suparu and still to this day. it makes me angry that a lot of people don't understand suparu just because he didn't chose rem almost all the community loves rem and i understand that she is perfect .but why not understand suparu feeling
@@vlavona Even if they hate Subaru because he rejected Rem, I can somehow understand it. However, the hate towards Emilia was absolutely absurd. Luckily, now both Subaru and Emilia get way less hate than they used to.
Tuan Nguyen i hope so .. but i got angry when i see suparu page in any anime website there a great hate and trashing to suparu and the whole show !!! I understand if someone watched re zero and hate suparu for not choosing rem but at they very least try understand why .. and not go to every website bringing negativity to the show .. and as someone who read the novel the show gets better and better
@@vlavona Those who read the novels know Subaru redeemed himself right on the next day, lol. W/Foxes cut those scenes from the anime cause Rem has already hijacked the show.
Subaru does love Rem, she is considered to be Subaru's number two. I think that the show is realistic in showing that sometimes you do love more than one person. To be honest, Rem and Emilia are both amazing but Emilia doesn't really know what love is while Rem is more mature and supporting.
Emilia is the first love that you can never forget, and still adore because there's nothing that makes you hate her to begin with. Rem is the one you love because the connection you made, at first it was platonic, then started to develop to something because she is the only one who supports you
Subaru did great too on his self-destruction. It was so easy to understand where it was coming from. Up to that moment we really didn't know much of him. And his "vision" of himself aligns perfectly with all he did since Ep.1. He was escaping from his past all this time, dragging his self-hatred as a baggage.
Not even nearly as good as the royal candidates' speeches that were cut out from the anime, to be honest. The director for this anime is great with action scenes, not so much with dialogue.
I've always felt like the author was trying to give Subaru a lesson. I thought the fact that people were always saying Subaru was stupid, slothful, worthless... Meant he was doing something terrible and he should learn from it. But no. That's not the lesson at all. Subaru isn't perfect, but he isn't a terrible person either. He shouldn't let people put him down. He shouldn't get depressed over what people think of him. THAT is the lesson. Depressed people end up believing the terrible things people tell about them, even when they make no sense. How is Subaru in fault for the deaths? How is he supposed to know everything about this new world? He ISN'T. He isn't at fault. No matter how much people tell him he is. No matter how much he himself tries to convince us that he is.
Contrary to what so many believe,Subaru's words,"I love emilia" were not a rejection to Rem.They were simply him accepting himself fully and just how much it hurts him to not save her. I won't talk too much as they will release another version of S1 before S2 with some content that was never shown before(which I think will also include something that explains the dynamics of Subaru and Rem's relationship. It is there in the novel but they cut it out in the anime.Possibly because they didn't expect the anime to end up as popular as it did. Heck, those who watched it during ir's time of release know just how much overlooked Re:Zero was initially until people realized that it was something special and truly amazing.) Still though,my point is that him saying the words right there were just him coming to terms with her,not a rejection to Rem.
Thank you, ChrisKaileur, for being the only reactor in all of RUclips that realizes that Rem knew from the start of that conversation that she's not going to get the guy she loves and that she's so emotionally mature that she moves on from it at the point that the person she loves needs it most. People don't realize that Rem's "life together" speech is a eulogy for her hopes that she'd get to be with him. Rem does some amazingly intense emotional work on herself here too. That's why she acts like it's no big deal and she already knows when he says he loves Emelia after all that. Because of course she knows. She's always known. Through this conversation she realizes she accepts it and that just having an amazing person in her life is enough.
there are plenty of anime waifus I adore but rem is the best for me mainly because of this episode. no matter how bad you think of yourself and no matter your flaws, she's always be there by your side. she'll love you and stick with you through thick and thin until death and for everyone, especially people who are over their sex-crazed phase, certainly to be loved unconditionally is what we all truly desire. I'm not mad at subaru for choosing emilia though since you can't be forced to change who you truly love.
"To be loved unconditionally is what we all truly desire"... that's how a manchild thinks. An adult would seek a strong, wise partner. Someone who pushes you to improve and maintain yourself, who won't hesitate to sacrifice you for the sake of your children or the greater good.
Well, Subaru wasn't thinking about only himself in the last episode when he was crying. It was just that he was really done losing everyone and suffering from losses.
this was always my favorite episode, subaru always felt more relatable than most protagonists. it broke my heart when he said he hated himself because i felt the exact same way about myself when i first watched the series. he might be a screw up, and he might pick the wrong girl, but subaru will always be my hero
Well the best thing about Subaru is that he is relatable, yeah, he has the power to change the course of history, but he's still just an ordinary weak person who most of us can relate to in one or many aspects.
Subaru acts like you'd expect a shut-in to act. That makes him more relatable to the majority of anime viewers (esp. teenagers) but less relatable to many other groups of people, like intellectuals. Funnily enough, I find the average, "unrealistic" shonen protagonist much more relatable than Subaru.
It's amazing how many people took an overwhelmingly positive scene like this and turned it into something horrible purely because their ship got sank. Subaru is obviously overjoyed because he's had his faith in himself restored and has Rem by his side. Rem is also incredibly happy because she was the one Subaru turned to at his lowest point and SHE was the one who helped her hero recover his lost hope and stand by his side. There is no character in the show who comes out of this scene wanting: Rem knows Subaru loves Emilia, and she thinks that's perfectly ok. As long as she can be close to her hero, that's all that matters to her.
Thanks for reacting to the birth of the memes "I love Emilia" and "Who's Rem". That aside... I love the direction of the writing in this episode that leads to the title of this anime. That means we just finished watching the Prolouge. So strap in, cause the plot thickens! especially in Season 2 which I'm glad Its gonna release soon probably Spring 2020.
During this episode it was the first time he ever mentioned his previous life of being a shut-in. The Hikkikomori syndrome is something that lead to all this. Including the fact that he never thought about his parents and previous life ever before. He was just forcing a fake act of positivity to forget his past life. You could keep that scene but I guess it's okay. But I hope you read this. It's kinda important for his character development.
I shedded a couple of tears when Rem was talking about her wanted future with Subaru and how much she loved him, then i lost my shit due to how agonizing it was to hear Subaru tell her right in her face that he loves Emilia.
@@pancakes322 but rem was the first person to truly trust subaru out of everyone. Even though she did kill him multiple times out of suspicion which idk if she was ordered to do so. But she trusted him and was by his side every single step of the way, she sacrificed her life (which I feel makes it kinda even for her killing him) multiple times for Subaru. So I understand ppls frustration because I was one of them ppl. But this Is what I told myself to put myself at ease. Is that he doesn't deserve her. Its that simple to me some else who deserves it will have the greatest waifu and I'm okay with that. If that does happen

Great reaction to a perfect episode. So as other comments already mentioned, this episode caused a lot of "uprise" in the anime community, mainly of course because of Subaru's infamous statement "I love Emilia" - which has even become a meme. I mean it's obvious why people get upset about Subaru, because from an outsider's point of view he basically just did something incomprehensible, he rejected the perfect waifu - someone who understands all his sorrows and problems without question, someone who is willing to offer him comfort and strenght every time he needs it, someone who regardless of what Subaru does always accepts him and only sees the good things within him. And Subaru paradoxically rejected this perfect being for someone, who in fact can't understand all his sorrows and problems without proper communication, someone who is not willing to serve and ease his spirit everytime he needs it, someone who can't accept Subaru regardless of what (wrongdoings) he does. Rem represents the perfect Waifu - every "otaku's" dream, who offers one solace from the harsh truth of reality - so Rem is Subaru's *AND* the audience's medium of escaping reality and responsibility. That's why no one understands Subaru's decision. But thematically what logic, what productive message would there be if Subaru chose Rem over Emilia? - Or worse, if he just had run away with Rem? Accept all your flaws and just run away of your responsibilities? Yea that would make no sense thematically. But on the other hand let's have a look at what Emilia might represent for Subaru. Emilia represents *Self-Betterment* for Subaru, because, while Rem was the person Subaru needed to accept himself, Emilia is the person Subaru ultimately needs to improve himself, because Emilia stands for all the realistic hardships in human communication Subaru has to overcome to finally be the hero he wants to be. So in a thematic sense Subaru choosing Emilia over Rem is absolutely important and crucial! But also in a symbolic sense, because by rejecting Rem (the perfect waifu), Subaru rejects escapism, distinguishes himself from the audience and genuinely chooses the path to self-betterment. But I would like to add as well, that this decision is also "character-wise" completely consistent. Because what I think what many people just don't get, is that Rem herself never really wanted to hear a reciprocation from Subaru. Rem never intended to be loved back by everything what she did and said for and to Subaru, that's not the kind of person Rem is! I think you mentioned it as well Rem is selfless af, that's the kind of person she is and always was, which is in a sense also really tragic because she never really lived for herself not even truly now. Rem loves every Subaru, but the Subaru who strives for the highest of high the most, for that's the Subaru who saved her. That's why she rejected Subarus "once-in-a-timetime proposal" for then she would abandon the Subaru she loves the most - so she reminds Subaru of the Subaru she knows and loves to reawake him, but this just as much entails reawakening the Subaru who loves Emilia to the point of doing everything "for her" and Rem is not only fully aware of this, but she willingly provoked it and she is happy with it. Because while Subaru's love for Emilia is selfish, Rem's love for Subaru is purely selfless. So for people to say, that it was stupid, wrong or harsh of Subaru to say he loves Emilia or that Subaru should have even reciprocated her love, is absolutely unfounded, for Rem herself never wanted it.
Great analysis, I felt the same way just could never say it as well as you did! That’s absolutely correct, then again Re Zero is a series that defies expectations again and again. Its amazing. Yea, it might have pissed otaku off but good man. I hope this show was a wake up call to the toxic mentality of otaku culture.
Re:zero's author confirm there will be 11 arcs in Re:zero. Right now, there's only arc 1-6 in web novel and season 1 anime adapt arc 1-3. Season 2 will adapt entire arc 4 which is longer than arc 1-3 combined in anime and episode 1-18 of season 1 is only the prologue. So yeah, there's so much story and depth in Re:zero we didn't know yet and someone told me that If all Re:zero story combine till arc 6 in web novel, Re:zero's story is exceeding *entire Harry Potter* novel.
yea the story still isn´t finished, the Writer is just half way finished with the story and the ending is not yet written will this be the Japanese Game of Thrones? it has a lot of similarities... lets hope the ending will be a lot more satisfying lol
Subaru 101:- 1. Subaru is a man who hates himself more than anything. 2. Subaru is a giver and not a taker, anytime somebody dedicates themselves to him, he'd freak out. He's got no problem loving someone but being loved is something he isn't good with. He hates himself so he doesn't understand why he'd deserve the love. Evident whenever he was asked what he wanted as a reward, he'd choose something that isn't ambitious. 3. His feelings for Emilia are pretty much the same as Rem's feelings for him. He doesn't wanna show Emilia his weakness and wants her to rely on him more and more, if she's not returning those feelings, it doesn't matter, he will just love her anyways. He wants to be her support that she could lean on, the way Rem wants him to lean on her. 4. Despite possibly having feelings for Rem as well, he doesn't believe he deserves it. He might use any excuse to run away from accepting Rem's feelings for him that he doesn't think he deserves. He doesn't even get why he's loved. He could blatantly declare his love for Emilia and pursue her because he knows for sure that she doesn't have feelings for him the way Rem does, so he doesn't have to deal with accepting any feelings from Emilia. Also he is a guy that believes in getting what is deserved so he struggles to be someone that could deserve Emilia's love----and he doesn't believe he's done anything for Rem to deserve the love.
Finally watched someone reacting to my boy Subaru and understanding that he loves Emilia and if he switches back to them because of all yh talk and sacrifices would make him look like a Playboy. He likes/loves Emilia but we don't know why is that so. I mean there has to be a a proper reason in future which tied his knots to Emilia and her future with his own where his love for her would force him to save her for the a designated time for some major event which noone knows and I think the witch of envy has something to do with it as she's the one restarting time for Subaru to save everyone. Remember Subaru tried to runaway the 3rd time after he came to this world. But he couldn't do that because he was already attached to Emilia somehow which could be his contact to the Satella. But season 2 would show what happens when Subaru starts to have feelings for someone else and a 10 × development to Subaru's character.
great reaction of you guys, i watched a lot of reactions to this episode and i love how you understand what is more behind the characters and feeling. sorry for my bad English
This episode reminds me that the author made a novel based on this alternative reality of the main story, what if they had run away and everything that Rem imagined happens ... Named as "Re:If" ... Now I wonder if they did a season or at least an OVA of this novel ...
Rem: Spent the whole episode proving that she is best girl with one of the best love deceleration speeches, with the perfect lighting, perfectly timed birds, while her voice actress sang a song in the background and she even used the Japanese word "Ai" or [ 愛 ] that a person only uses for very deep and affectionate feelings Subaru: "lol on second thought, get back into the FriendZone" Team Rem fans: "FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU "
Subaru have its doubt abput it, emilia probavly think you can love only 1 person and rem feel insicure so she is for poligamy in order to have a space in subaru hearth. Complicated stuff
I know this is sort of late, but the Rem running away with Subaru is actually a side story (non canon) where they do run away together and have a family and two children and grow old together. Rem does die before Subaru does, and when Subaru dies surrounded by his family and loved ones he rewinds right back to the apple vendor at the start. There was no new save point, no ending, nothing. He didn't choose the "right" path to advance forward. It was both a beautiful life with Rem and an extremely cruel thing for Subaru. He spent and entire lifetime with Rem just to rewind and only he has those memories and Rem doesn't have a clue. It's a great side story but it wrenches the heart and makes it hurt because it is perhaps the most cruel suffering in my opinion he could go through.
Here is the moment where every man cried. I still remember the impact of this episode when it was on air, watching one chapter per week was really hard. XD
This is the Subaru I actually enjoy. [Up to his reaction to Rem's confession, of course.] So self-aware and self-loathing of his own usual ridiculous and idealistic nature to the point of madness, so impotent yet so desperate to act, all out of bullshit and straight to the point, no hero complexes or innocuous motivational speeches whatsoever. This Subaru is not playing any games with the lives of those around him anymore but has instead realized the weight of a real human life. A man resigned to live without hope - against his own will - to simply live and avoid death for as long as he can. Anyway...this is an amazing set of episodes (except for Subaru's reaction to Rem's confession, of course, which is so conventionally and childishly scripted it's almost funny.) Subaru, when faced with Rem's confession, is exactly placed in a position that MIRRORS Emilia's (towards his confession) before he left. Subaru's incapacity to embrace Rem's feelings perfectly mirrors Emilia's own inability to understand the foundations of his love and his worship for her entire character, his maximum hero. Both confessions are "lost in translation", in communication, in-between two different bodies, in-between the impossibility of one to ever convey to another one's subjective experience but also in-between the radical contrast of the lover's idealized version of the loved one and that loved one's self-demeaning knowledge of themselves. Even without the Witch's Curse, Emilia cannot even begin to understand Subaru's feelings for her - not as long as she doesn't reciprocate those feelings both in quality and quantity and experiences them first hand. Same for Rem and Subaru, of course. Only by loving Rem, could Subaru ever fully sympathize with her vision of him, embracing both those things at the same time with the same intensity. Which never happens, really...They are not each other's heroes, sadly. In fact, it is by hearing Rem's love formula and rationale that Subaru finally understands how much he loves Emilia and HOW he can exactly put those feelings into words. The sick irony... Still, his immediate reaction to her confession is absolute shonen-like recycled trash...«Hey, it's also pretty hard for me (Subaru) to ask this of the one I just rejected (Rem) but hey, since you're here, could you...you know...die for me again? awkwardly laughs » Go ** yourself, you harem anime protagonist Subaru you! For Chrissake! How clueless and self-commiserate can you get!? He does not deserve Rem loving him, that's for sure. God damn anime logic... Of course they couldn't just take these fantastic moments he has shared with Rem, turn his romantic feelings for both of his romantic interests more complex and ambiguous and make it a canon long-term feature, since the fandoms are obsessed with childish concepts of "best waifu loyalty" and can't fathom or handle the idea of romantic relationships between main characters not meeting their pristine and religious Disney standards...What a shame... As soon as I saw him embrace Emilia's dead body last episode I knew "the Rem Timeline" had amounted to no romantic developments at all... But hey, that's just an anime pet peeve of mine regarding romance in anime, especially shonen. Like Animaechan once said: «I wish there was an anime where someone can move from love interests in a mature, beautiful way...» -> I wish...
I think people who hate the "I love Emilia" response haven't thought things through, honestly. What other answer could there be? We all knew Subaru loved Emilia, he has said so from the very beginning, and if he had reciprocated Rem's love without any doubt or anything, it would've been poor character writing more than anything. On the other hand, if Subaru had just avoided a straight answer and instead decided to go the generic Harem route, then Re:Zero wouldn't be the great story it is, but simply a generic harem where the protagonist gets all the girls as a sort of quest reward or something. For the sake of the story, and for the sake of these very characters, I'm glad Subaru rejected Rem. But it is still a heartbreaking moment for her, which is why I love this show so much. It's very well thought out.
Ok, I have so much stuff to say, where do I even start... So to start off, I think everyone agrees with me, that this is a great fucking episode, all of the suffering Subaru went trough, was slowly building up to this moment and the execution on it is just perfect (I'll get into I love Emilia later) I'm not usually a fan of the "main character overcame the trail, and wins" part of the story, but here, the next couple of episode have been just the most satisfying thing, to see Subaru transform from the person at the beginning of the arc, to Rem's hero, it's just so good. The anime seemed to want to avoid developing their relationship beyond this point all that much, so I'm gonna spoil a couple of bits in the light novels, that were skipped in the anime, if you mind, skip this paragraph..... under the fugel tree, Rem's talk with Subaru goes on for a bit longer, and emphasizes, that thanks to Rem, Subaru is able to go on, but at the end, Rem "with a playful smile" adds "I'm ok with being your second wife" to which Subaru "Seeing the playful smile" responds "If Emilia is ok with that then ok" later, after the fight with the wale, Rem faked her death, which got Subaru to tell her that he loves her and that he'd kill himself if she died, which Rem brushes off as just a romantic gesture or something, but Subaru was being serious, if anything were to happen to Rem, he would redo the timeline, even tho it was after he had defeated the whale and was doing so well. This is just another fun fact about the magic system, but Puck, can use the ice powers, because he's a fire spirit, there is no such thing as ice magic, it's just that fire magic can control the temperature overall, which includes both cold and warm. Now, the thing that started such a humongous shitstorm, it makes we want to like Emilia more, even tho I like Rem more, I think that "I love Emilia" was good writing, whether it was a good choice, whether Emilia or Rem is better doesn't matter at all here, but it was in character and made perfect sense with what we've seen of Subaru, especially since his affection for Rem starts growing mostly only after this episode, even if you think, that Rem is a batter character, that doesn't mean, that choosing Emilia here was a flaw in the writing. Another thing, since you mentioned, some misteries, not getting resolved till the end of this season, heck, some misteries won't get resolved till the end of the next season and even the season after that if they decide to make one, the anime has cough up to the third arc so far, but because the 4th arc is pretty long, it might take up the entire second season, now, the light novels and web novels, are currently on the 6th arc, but the writer announced, that he plans to go on for 11 arcs, so some misteries are not even near being resolved yet... Although from what I gather, arc 4 will answer a lot of questions.
Great reaction ! Subaru loves Rem but that scene when Subaru confesis that to Rem is skipped over in ep 19 :(( It actually happens under the Flugel tree just before the whale battle. Oh and as a side note. The author said there will be 11 main story arcs and currently the web novel as almost nearing the end of arc 6 i guess. So only half way through.

@Mally well of course the book fans are going to sit there and say that the visual medium version of it is rushed. how was it 'over the top' at all? everything built up to this moment. Subaru realising his many flaws and Rem confessing to Subaru. This was a pivotal point in advancing the story and everything said was necessary for developing the characters.

A few more words on Subaru's speech. What got me the most was his line
[Do you know what I was doing before I met you all?
Being trapped in a spiral of depression, it's obvious he started defining himself by his failures.

amazing reaction! i'm so glad that you guys understand the whole 'i love Emilia' moment.
@@ЯБезымянный-о5ф what happened on the next day? sorry my bad english
Subaru does love Rem, she is considered to be Subaru's number two. I think that the show is realistic in showing that sometimes you do love more than one person. To be honest, Rem and Emilia are both amazing but Emilia doesn't really know what love is while Rem is more mature and supporting.
It's not just #2. His connection to Rem is more deep, enough to cause psychosomatic reactions. She's his dope, in a good sense.
Emilia is the first love that you can never forget, and still adore because there's nothing that makes you hate her to begin with.
Rem is the one you love because the connection you made, at first it was platonic, then started to develop to something because she is the only one who supports you
@@willyyulianto4485 The second part can be said with Emilia to Subaru, especially next season.
Subaru actually decided to become 'Rem' for Emilia to make up for what she lacked.
@@ЯБезымянный-о5ф yes
best speech in anime that i ever seen
Subaru did great too on his self-destruction. It was so easy to understand where it was coming from. Up to that moment we really didn't know much of him. And his "vision" of himself aligns perfectly with all he did since Ep.1. He was escaping from his past all this time, dragging his self-hatred as a baggage.
Not even nearly as good as the royal candidates' speeches that were cut out from the anime, to be honest.
The director for this anime is great with action scenes, not so much with dialogue.
i love attentive reactors.
Unlike normies
I too was also disappointed in their reaction
Heck, those who watched it during ir's time of release know just how much overlooked Re:Zero was initially until people realized that it was something special and truly amazing.)
Still though,my point is that him saying the words right there were just him coming to terms with her,not a rejection to Rem.
I love the relationship of Subaru and Otto.
3:43 I'm just gonna say, remember this scene of Subaru
I remembered that moment in LN. Damn it was eerie.
I agre. I'm at arc 6 and i dare ti say i love the story so far.
I shedded a couple of tears when Rem was talking about her wanted future with Subaru and how much she loved him, then i lost my shit due to how agonizing it was to hear Subaru tell her right in her face that he loves Emilia.
i mean she did kill him brutally. emilia has only shown him kindness.
bruh he maybe forgive what rem did to him but he will never forget it and still traumatized by it. let my man subaru choose, he suffer enough

This episode made feel sad, depressed, happy, overjoyed, overwhelmed, cry tears, very mad, then warm hearted in the span of Rem and Subaru confession

Subaru 101:-
Rem is Best Girl. Even when compared to any other series. Fight me. I'm not crying. It's just been raining. On my face.
I fight you with Patrasche. Come at me bro.

Spent the whole episode proving that she is best girl with one of the best love deceleration speeches, with the perfect lighting, perfectly timed birds, while her voice actress sang a song in the background and she even used the Japanese word "Ai" or [ 愛 ] that a person only uses for very deep and affectionate feelings

Fun fact : the anime not telling this but.... Rem accept polygamy ~
Subaru have its doubt abput it, emilia probavly think you can love only 1 person and rem feel insicure so she is for poligamy in order to have a space in subaru hearth. Complicated stuff
Pretty sure the anime mentioned it a couple times, because Rem said she would be fine with Subaru loving Emilia as long as he also loved her
Cause it's not gonna happen
Btw there is a spin off on the light novel that Suburu run away with Rem instead of going to Emilia when rem said she loves him.
i do not know what the hell you edit but you did a good job thank you so much
Thanks n.n
Anyway...this is an amazing set of episodes (except for Subaru's reaction to Rem's confession, of course, which is so conventionally and childishly scripted it's almost funny.)
Subaru, when faced with Rem's confession, is exactly placed in a position that MIRRORS Emilia's (towards his confession) before he left.
Still, his immediate reaction to her confession is absolute shonen-like recycled trash...«Hey, it's also pretty hard for me (Subaru) to ask this of the one I just rejected (Rem) but hey, since you're here, could you...you know...die for me again? awkwardly laughs »
Go ** yourself, you harem anime protagonist Subaru you!
Just wait till season 2, you will learn soo much more about subaru and why he said the things he said in this episode :D
Now that season 2 is out.....I'm pretty sure you're gonna go through a lot again.
The infamous "I Love Emilia." I'm still salty about it, but from here on out things are starting to look up for Subaru.
This is why rem is BEST WAIFU EVER!!!
You know, I can't wait for another episode. Let's get on with it . . . Please.
are you.... TREMBLING to see the next reaction?
lol
I feel like this anime is all a big fever dream.
Holllyy shit i guy understands practically everything damm i took me to rewatch s1 again just to completely under stand the whole meaning of the ep

@Mally go on then. If you think you can do so, give me
5 examples of why the anime is inferior to the LN.
Be concise and make sure you explain your reasoning.
@Mally oh and by the by I KNEW you'd be an Emilia stan.
Your kind always are. Weak, small minded and PATHETIC.
hhmm im excited for the later episodes
poor beako
i heard for somebody that in the novel Rem ask subaru for a polygamy relationship with her being his second wife ( sorry for my english :"v )
Yeah I heard something similar! Subaru goes for both of them in the light novel 🤷
@@kyuujinreacts no he won't the author hates polygamy
Where are you watching the series?
A site called animeheaven ;)
To bad I am late, I can't see eps 20
😭
Could u react to American horror story
It's definitely a possibility!! :)
"So Gluten-y is the whale"
It makes sense that someone of her girth has never heard the word Gluttony before
🙄 considering we're both french yet still doing these reactions completely in English (hence the accent and the reason why we pronounce some words wrong) mistakes are a given but congrats for turning this into something it's not
12:19 hablo spanish but no hablo inglish
And this kids, is why Rem is best) Btw, the whole episode is just the one whole dialogue between Rem and Subaru and yet it manages to be one of the best if not the best episode.
I mean I get that Subaru is being honest and all but he should learn to hold back. Rem just confessed. Don't keep talking about Emilia you baka. 😑
10 minutes ago:
Subaru - I want to run away with you, live my whole life with and give everything to you.
Rem - No.
Subaru - Okay.jpg

😒
He might have rejected her now [ Spoil Alert] in the light novel he tells Emillia he loves Rem.
More importantly, he tells Rem he loves Rem. And keeps referring to her as [my Rem] through the whole thing.
@@SuiseiVirus got any proof?
The fact that he still chose emilia over rem--
Like, bij, rem saved him so many times, sacrificed herself just to save him, helped him when he's depressed and shit and he still picks and loves emilia in the end-----
I feel bad for rem--

It would probably make more sense if you watched the entire episodes tbh ;)

Lollll wtf
i hate subaru
Ngl, this is a real cringe episode. OTT melodrama.
how was it 'over the top' at all? everything built up to this moment. Subaru realising his many flaws and Rem confessing to Subaru. This was a pivotal point in advancing the story and everything said was necessary for developing the characters.

Are you didn't encounter a drama that will make you insane and wants to end your life in real life? (I did and it was so painful. Luckily I have friend and families) :)
