My daughter was diagnosed with uncontrolled epilepsy in 2016. Until then she was a very active, adventurous young girl. she played sports(track, basketball and soccer) it was a concussion suffered in soccer that caused the small tear that caused the defect. unfortunately she is not your common case. she has 4 different types of seizures and although she takes multiple meds for them they are still uncontrolled. the last time she ended up in the ICU and we didn't think she would leave alive. Our neurologist informed us in the very beginning that she was at high risk for SUDEP. i think that is the moment my world stopped spinning for a while. Now we live with the fact that she could die at any minute and although anyone could die at anytime, it becomes more real, more aware when you see your child seize and know that there is not much you can do to stop them. So we live everyday with the knowledge that life can be taken just as fast as it is given and we celebrate it everyday.
My condolences to the family...this hits home for me a lot because not only did I grow up with Cameron on Disney, but my older brother also has epilepsy, so I understand what they’re going through. RIP Cameron Boyce.
My twins both have epilepsy. One is nocturnal epilepsy and one is random but severe. They last 20 to 30 minutes and only recently started stopping after 10 minutes with rescue meds. His o2 drops, dangerously. This week he had 2 in his sleep and going back inpatient today. Its terrifying. Thankfully we were well informed of sudep but very thankful to see awareness being raises.
My heart and love go out to his mother, father , sister and the rest of his family , friends and us fans .. I also suffer from Epilepsy and have to be on Seizure Medication for it . Seizures run in my family on both sides ... and It sucks . I wouldn't wish it on anyone. Rest In Peace Cameron , we all love and miss you 🙏🏼
I am very sorry to hear that the physicians did not give the proper information to his family. As someone who first suffered from an epilepsy episode at 2hrs old, then was diagnosed officially at the age of 7, i feel that the doctors did a major disservice in not giving the parents all of the information they needed to know. all of my doctors, family physicians and neurologists have always given me all to detail I have needed and what i could experience if/when they happen. I have been fortunate that my episodes have been few and far between over the past 22 years of my life, but it is terrifying when they do happen because i just hope that i wake up when i come out of them. I truly feel for this family.
As an epileptic myself and a volunteer for the epilepsy foundation sudep is non preventable. The reality is though its rare. 1 in 1000 controlled people
My condolences goes to them 😭😭😭. I can't imagine what they are going through now 💔 i feel bad for his parents 😭 I loved Cameron since i was 6 years old... I miss him so much 💔💔. RIP Cameron 😭
It's such a taboo and horrible situation unfortunately, my brains fine so it's not epileptic despite family history, and been years, but it's not just epilepsy it's seizure disorders! I'm a almost 28 year old woman who has been seizing since a child, we need more awareness, education and answers. There are not enough
