    Hi James, very informative video and one of the very few i've found on the internet about this product . Got a couple of Qs if you don't mind assisting with; 1) are they comfortable for the kids (especially in the long run since they are supposed to stay there till 12yrs or whatever..) 2) is the back section quite wobbly , making creaking noises everytime you take a corner with the car or going over speed bumps.?
    Cheers and well done again

    • @safelytravelled
      @safelytravelled  Год назад +2

      Hi there, thanks for the positive feedback, it's really appreciated. Regarding your questions, yes, both my children find the seats very comfortable and they have no complaints. I am looking at stocking a product (KneeGuard Kids) that acts as a footrest which I think would make them even more comfortable going forward.
      The back section isn't wobbly once installed in the car as the ISOFIX mounts keep the child seat firmly pressed into the car seat. As a result there are no noises coming from the seats when the children aren't in the car with me.
      Since this video the seats have moved in to a Mercedes GLC and the process of removing and re-installing them was super easy too. It's a shame that Cybex won't let me stock/sell them but I keep trying.

    Great video. Going to buy the S2 for my daughter. How old are your kids? I know it's adjustable in the height, but how about the width? Is it big enough to fit a small 4 year old girl and a bigger, let's say 10 year old boy?

    • @safelytravelled
      @safelytravelled  Год назад +1

      Hi Nicolai, my children are 7 (8 next month) and 6 and there's plenty of room currently. The challenge is that in the car they are now installed in (Audi A4) the top of the seat when fully extended is very close to the roof so I doubt I will be able to keep my son in it much beyond 140cm even though it is rated to 150cm. There is some flexibility in the sides to allow for movement when getting close to the width and I don't think that will be a problem through to 140cm.

    Does the isofix latches rotate beyond 180 degrees. Our cars Isofix is in an elevated position to the seat base and we would like the booster to sit on the chair rather than elevated 2" in the air.

    • @safelytravelled
      @safelytravelled  2 года назад

      Yes they do. In the car I fitted them to they needed to point down but they can just as easily point upwards, allowing you to sit the base of the Cybex seat correctly on the car's seat base. Out of interest, what car are you fitting them to as it is unusual that the ISOFIX mountings are set too high and it would be good to investigate further.

    Hello, maybe you could tell me please where is the difference between s i fix and s2 i fix? Cant find any information, except that s2 is more new.

    • @safelytravelled
      @safelytravelled  Год назад +1

      Hi Victoria, from what I can see the S2 has slightly more padding in the head area and a few tweaks to the base, but it doesn't gain any new features. The exception is that some of the colourways appear to come with a cup holder, which the original model didn't have. My kids are still using their seats (and will be for some time) and they are holding up well, so I'd definitely buy them again.

    • @safelytravelled
      @safelytravelled  2 года назад +1

      Hi Hossam, thanks for the question. With this seat you can fold the ISOFIX connectors away so they are hidden beneath the seat. You can then install it in a car without ISOFIX and use it as normal.

    With two of these in your car is there enough room for an adult in the middle? If not can you recommend any other reclining booster seats for 4 year old and up?

    • @safelytravelled
      @safelytravelled  Год назад

      Hi Ben, there definitely isn't enough room between these seats even when installed in my wife's Mercedes GLC.
      The Axkid Big Kid 2 is a little narrower but not by much but it might be worth you trying those although it all depends on what car you are fitting them in to.

    Seat is incorrectly installed in this video, please take care to read the instructions! Base should have been pushed back against the car seat backrest by using the handle under the base once the isofix connectors are engaged.

    How to install it without isofix?

    • @safelytravelled
      @safelytravelled  26 дней назад +1

      All you do is fold the ISOFIX bars underneath the seat and then place it in the car like normal. Remember though that when the seat is unoccupied you should use the car's seat belt to retain it, otherwise it would be free to move under braking or in an accident.

    That seat was definitely not installed correctly at all there should be no movement.

    • @Immortal__
      @Immortal__ Год назад

      How would one eliminate this movement?

    • @safelytravelled
      @safelytravelled  Год назад

      All ISOFIX seats have some lateral movement when unloaded, it's an important part of the design. I agree though that I should have pushed the seat back more in to the car's seat which goes some way to reducing the movement.
