Sam is singing in an American accent that isnt his own, hes only just been cast at this point and has not yet performed as Evan. I think he did miraculously considering.
Sam’s tone is my favorite of the four (obviously they’re all OUTSTANDING / on another level, it’s just a personal preference), and I was shocked when I learned this video was basically his debut / promo for west end and he was straight out of school for the role… I also had no idea he was British when I watched for the first time
I’ve been wondering about this. Are the British actors using American accents?
@@shortcanuck7971 yes. They usually do for American set things. But British actors are very good at accents..hence why half of US tv are actually British 😄
@@martynnotman3467 Thanks - I’m always amazed at “American “ actors who are really Brits, I never would have guessed most of them. On the other hand, American actors aren’t nearly as good, and there’s alway a point where the accent trails off. Greetings from Canada 🇨🇦

Of the many struggles I have with my vocals, the flip to falsetto from head voice is so so hard. These boys did it effortlessly. Much respect and admiration for them.

I always say that Broadway: Freshman Year Evan, West End: Sophomore Year Evan, National Tour: Junior Year Evan, and Toronto: Senior Year Evan. The visual progression, it just works too well.

The blend to me is 100% the most impressive part of this insanely impressive video… normally when you get four leads in a room they aren’t so willing to blend tbh, these guys are on another level

I like there's a slight critique in here. Way too many "vocal coaches" just gush about everything they react to, and that's not helpful for those of us that're trying to improve our voices as well. Thank you for providing helpful info as well as good things about the video.

I feel like the way he said world was meant to be short because he did say let the world pass by so maybe the author wanted it to seem more fast like they were letting the word world pass by quickly too I don't know I feel like they were really strategic about this video

I think the first world belted is always closed down to prioritize the story telling and not the technique?!? Cause every Evan I’ve seen do them like that but honestly I always prefer to open it up a little to feel more comfortable.
I mean to create a bigger build up of the song, emotions and story I think
