I totally think that Cheesecake Factory should have a sample dessert plater, on the menu, which would be like a dozen little cubes of different cheese cakes, so you can try them - just a thought 🤔
Well yes and no, if enough waitresses complain to the manager that the discomfort is affecting their tips, they may change it. Your tip reflects your entire experience, so it is up to the waitresses to do whatever they can to ensure it is comfortable, and if they can't then to make up for it with attentiveness and competency.
You are correct. My daughter was a server for 2 years. She got that complaint all the time. The only thing she could do was tell management. They had a set temp at certain times of the year and it wasn't allowed to be changed. You can't fault your server for the temp in the restaurant. It's ultimately up to management.
@@Jack_Stafford you act like they have more power than they do. The air temp is not part of the servers job. I have worked in multiple restaurants that have the air conditioning controller locked. The management is the only ones that have the key and control the air conditioning. There could have been people also going behind her and turned the air conditioner backup because other people were complaining they were too hot. I love Jole and Lia but they're not the only ones there. I bring a sweater everywhere.
I was just thinking that. Changing your tip amount based upon the temp inside the restaurant isn't fair to the waitstaff/busboys/kitchen. I tip based on service alone.

Almost correct. They started out selling cheesecake to other restaurants, when that took off they moved their bakery to LA, after their son graduated from college he started a restaurant on rodeo drive, and now their the only restaurant on fortune 500.

The reason the AC is usually so chilly in restaurants is so the cooks aren't falling over from heat exhaustion. Imagine how hot it would be if the AC was set so the rest of the place was a comfortable temp when they have all of those stoves, grills, and ovens going at once
And don't forget the wait staff who are constantly moving and carrying heavy dishes their entire shift, often wearing an uncomfortable uniform, you don't want them sweating onto your food. Also all of the lights and electronics, it's always good policy to have it a bit on the to cool side and then the reverse when things start to smell and sweat starts getting places it's not supposed to and the furniture gets clammy... Trust me it's always better for it to be a bit on the cool side. Dressing a loose long sleeve shirt that you can roll up the sleeves depending on your environment in your gold, especially in a desert environment and the Sun is so oppressive.
@@Jack_Stafford That is true! Not only are they running around and such but carrying hot plates of food which can easily make it feel like it's sweltering. I used to be a waitress but thankfully it was in a small mom and pop diner so I didn't have far to go so I didn't get overheated easily from running around and we didn't have uniforms, just had to dress appropriately.
@@malindastevens1016 I have a lot of respect for people that can run around all day long during hot dishes, or working in a kitchen, and especially dealing with the public. The least we can do is try to make their work environment comfortable so the rest of the key things can be done more easily. It wasn't that long ago that people were still smoking in restaurants and that made it even harder for the people that work there to be able to breathe clean air and try to do their job and go home smelling like smoke. That issue has been resolved, people just need to understand that often they are wearing a polyester corporate uniform of some type, the women usually have to wear makeup and all of that adds up to a lot of effort and working hard so it does need to stay cool, not to mention the kitchen and those that are cleaning the restaurant and busing the tables. Hard work!
I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all you two do. I was getting ready for a work trip to England with 3 days notice. I wanted to know some things about the culture before I went and I came across your Chanel. Your videos were super informative and actually helped me so much! For example the whole switching the power switch to use the outlets. Little things you discussed in your videos helped me tremendously and made my time easier in England. Just wanted to say thank you for making my time more enjoyable and travel friendly as an American. Much love to you!
Unfortunately, the AC is normally too cold, to accommodate the large crowds. The wait for seating, understaffing in the kitchen can be frustrating. Please don't under tip for those reasons. The moment you are seated to the attention your waitstaff gives you and meal satisfaction should be reflected with your tip. I speak from many years of experience. Keep up the fun and quirky vlogs! Some of us travel vicariously through you guys. 😃💕
I believe that is a "lost in translation." Double cream does not mean twice the amount of whipped cream but a U.K. phrase for whipped cream, or what we call" Whipping cream. "
You tipped appropriately for the level of service you received. When the check was dropped I thought immediately that 15% would be correct, and later in the video you said that you tipped 15% . That's a sign that you've truly become Americanized.
I always sit down with the intention of tipping the standard 20% but if the service doesn’t warrant it, I’ll go down (and I was a server for 4 years 🤣)
@@Jack_Stafford I work in a restaurant and hardly receive cash anymore. Maybe $20 a night if I'm lucky. Your tips, after tipping out the hosts, buses, and bar is given to you on a credit card which is taxed. So during the week I can bring home anywhere from $50 to $75 on average. On slow nights I've made as low as $30 after having only 3 tables, and on really busy weekends $100. It's actually a really slow time right now in this business. But you are totally right that you have to give great service to get more than 15%, however I give great service 99% of the time and still have people tip 10%. If we lived in Europe that would be fine, but since we live in a tip culture where servers receive $2.13 an hour, and never receive an actual paycheck, people have to be more considerate when tipping after good service. Unless something specific happened, if you go out to eat you should leave ideally around 18%, 15% minimum .
@@callahensley7355 I can't speak to your specific circumstances, just in my area around a large Midwestern City that anyone that works at a bar or restaurant that is successful at all is still getting $100 in cash tonight, but you are correct some of that needs to go to the Busboys Etc. If a tip is put on a credit card and of course that is a whole different situation. But the places I go to very often there is a tip put on the credit card and then money also put on the table by other people that aren't paying the full bill, if the service was great, why not leave a few dollars additional? But even using your example, if you had the $75 in cash to the tips that are put on the bill, it still sounds like the tips add up to a very decent amount. And again if people decide to claim their cash earnings they have the choice that other workers don't.
Hi Joel & Lia! Ya 15% was good enough, you see for every one person who asked to lower the AC. Theres one saying "please turn up the AC!" So, they try their best to accommodate their guest, but all in all 15% was good enough! Fun video guys Thank You!
That chicken salad sandwich is what I always order when I go there. It’s the best. Usually too full to have dessert after, but all the those choices are yummy.
I just heard about a study that on average people can handle about a dozen choices anything past that tends to just confuse them. So if that long of a menu people read the first few things and then just start skimming and not really reading it, so they really should pair it down to a much smaller menu, concentrate on some outstanding specialties, and have a side menu for typical things such as hamburgers hot dogs french fries for people that are hard to please. For a big restaurant I would say 20 entrees tops, it would make the service faster and more consistent, keep the amount of things you have to keep in stock radically smaller and just really make the entire thing more efficient. At any kind of restaurant 90% of the people are either going to get the chicken fish or steak, so concentrate on during your version of those very well. Having a long menu just really delays the ordering process as everybody tries to read and pick out and change their mind Etc. You have cheesecake in your name so you can have a large variety there but everything else needs to really be on point, well made and delivered in a timely fashion.
It's mainly marketed towards Americans who for the most part know they sell more than cheesecake. But I walked in there expecting only cheesecake and found that they had so much more food id be pleasantly surprised.
Cheesecake is known for their very large portions of food. The Santa Monica location especially in summer will always be crowded. Glad you guys enjoyed it. Cheers!!
I’m a restaurant manager and I used to try and adjust the thermostat when guests asked and what always happened is the dining room got hot quickly and then took forever to cool back down after other guests told me it was too hot. It’s a lose/lose scenario for the manager. ❤️❤️❤️
Cheesecake Factory is always great! Out of all the times I've eaten there I don't think I ever tried the cheesecake...the shopping center you two were in, Santa Monica Place, used to be an indoor mall but it was torn out to create the outdoor experience. Glad you two enjoyed!
I went to the CCF for my birthday a couple of weeks ago and my father had that salmon dish. Years ago, I would get a shrimp and bacon sandwich there but it's no longer on the menu. My favorite cheesecake there is the Godiva cheesecake.
Prosecco comes in Frizzante (fewer bubbles which quickly subside) and Tranquillo (a still wine from the start) as well as Spumante as you like. Also ask for Dry which is sweetest of the three styles.
I think of it as guiding these two, as they seem so often displeased by the Prosecco they are served when their British supermarket's private label is not at hand. Prosecco is neither a grape variety nor a specific wine, but a DOC (region of n/e Italy) with wines made to suit a range of sweetness, dizziness and a bit of variation in flavors. Oops, there I go again. Scuzzi.
I love The Cheesecake Factory! I read an article once that said a lot of restaurants keep it cold so people eat fast so they can leave, that way they get more customers. Whether that is true or not, but it does make sense.
Prosecco is an Italian wine controlled by DOC or DOCG. Under these wine laws, Prosecco can be spumante ("sparkling wine"), frizzante ("semi-sparkling wine"), or tranquillo ("still wine").
You were spot-on with your tip in this case. 15% is appropriate when the service is slow and you don’t get your food at the same time. 20% otherwise is usually typical
20% is not typical, 20% is for great service. I think they were right with a 15% because although the service was a bit off, they didn't say the waitress was outright rude and the orders were correct just slow. If 20% is the standard, then are you advocating paying 25 or 30 for excellent service? A quarter or third of your entire bill which would easily pay for a whole nother meal? That is not standard... Unless someone is wealthy and has money to throw around or is trying to impress a date, and Most states realize that's what's going on when you make a point of being a big Tipper.
Also, Prosecco is always sparkling! Sometimes with a "soft bubble." Extra dry or Brut should not be as sweet as other sparkling varietals. If you want sweet sparkling wine, you can try Spumante or Sparkling Muscato. But not too much because your head will be imploding the next day!
Yea I always bring a sweater where ever I go because you never know what it will be like inside. Also to be honest a 30 minute wait isn't that long. Just be glad that you didn't go on one of our holidays.
I think 30 minutes is on the top end of how long you should wait in line, an hour out of somebody's time in a tourist City like Las Vegas is worth a lot, and restaurants have to do a better job of managing their time, and at the prices they're charging they should take reservations for instance , if they are consistently that busy they should be able to afford to expand so that people have to wait as long, and if still there's an issue with wait times give people a realistic assessment so they can decide whether to wait or to go someplace else that has better grown their business with the amount of demand. 30 minutes sitting in a Lobby to stay out of the heat when you're hungry is really a pretty long time.
Dale Stafford Cheesecake Factory is literally a giant nationwide chain. They are always busy, because they are so popular. Also, they do give you an estimate of how long the wait is. AND they give you a buzzer with a bit of a range, so you can walk around, and don’t have to just sit in their lobby. They just don’t take reservations. But I don’t think it would be worth their time to. Missed reservations, and even late arrivals would cost them more than someone walking away because they don’t want to wait. 🤷🏻♀️
Great Video!!! The Cheesecake Factory is my favorite restaurant... Lia, the Miso Salmon is one of my favorite dishes...Can’t wait to see more videos. Hope you both a great week ahead... ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Excuse me, but displeasure with the ambient temperature of a Restaurant does NOT constitute 'poor service' . You might as well give your Server a 10% tip because you were unhappy with the color of the carpeting....People like you need to just STAY HOME...SHEESH!
@@berfy I think it was more about the waitress running off when taking their drink orders, the service being slow, and their food coming out at completely separate times, especially when the thing that took the longest was a simple sandwich. 15% is in no way a bad tip even. It is no one's fault that the restaurant does not pay their staff a decent wage, and that this country allows them to be paid under minimum wage. A tip is not even mandatory at all. It's for service and based on what the customer feels is appropriate. I think a lot of people forget this part. Honestly, we should be advocating for servers to get a decent wage instead of screaming at people for not paying the workers when it isn't their job.
@@ashtaylor4107 servers wouldn't go for that, they make more in tips than they would minimum wage, and the restaurant would raise prices and cut hours, everybody loses
We are always too full from dinner to eat the cheesecake! We talk about going and just ordering cheesecake. But, ugh, the food menu is phenomenal and we can’t resist ordering a meal!
I'm so happy that you two found your meals delicious! I rarely go there because its a little on the pricey side, I find the menu to be overwhelming, and I'm always too full to enjoy some dessert. I really liked the idea someone had about a cheesecake sampler plate. Maybe then I could go there just for that!
oh that looks like a place i could spend a lot of time in! anything that ends with cheesecake is good. Now all we have to do is to get them to open up in Britain!
as someone who gets cold easily, i've made a habit of taking a jacket or sweater with me when going out to eat or watch a movie.......just in case the air is turned down low
So they ordered salmon, a sandwich, two drinks and ONE piece of cheesecake and it was nearly $60? Holy Cow! I know I'm an old guy but that still seems like a lot.
We used to have a store here in the US called Burlington Coat Factory (it's just called Burlington now) and for the longest time I thought they only sold coats, when in fact they sell all types of clothing and other items as well.
I always bring a sweater when I go to a restaurant. They keep it cold for 2 reasons. One, it keeps you from hanging around after you're done eating so they can free up a table and the second reason is the wait staff gets hot from constant running around
I've been to The Cheesecake Factory many times especially when it was busy but I've always got great service. I do hate the wait for a table sometimes but I guess it's a good thing because it lets you know that the food is good. I rather go into a crowded restaurant than an empty one.
Actually naming it Cheesecake Factory is genius marketing. A lot of people when dining out don't order dessert. But when you're at a Cheesecake Factory, you tell yourself you have to get a cheesecake.
Wow, Cheesecake Factory in California serves small portions - the ones around here give you enough to eat your fill and have another meal's worth or two to take home. Their iced tea is fantastic; flavored with one of the tropical fruits (mango or guava or something, I forget).
My mother was a career waitress for over 40 years. I know how food service should be. That kind of service I would have had the manager come over. The manager would have made amends somehow maybe Prosecco on the house maybe your meals on the house or reduced for too long of a food wait. 30 mins for a table wait is really not that bad. There are Cheesecake Factories in New England I've never had to wait like that for table or food...but California is full of tourists I think more than New England so there are long waits everywhere there. The food is unbelievably great but with that kind of service I wouldn't even have tipped 15%. Although sometimes it's not the wait staff's fault it's the kitchens for the long wait but you should have called the manager over.🍰🥂🍽
I never thought of Cheesecake Factory bread as being famous (not like Olive Garden breadsticks, for instance), but you're right, their bread is delicious!
I finally went to Cheesecake Factory for the first time last year while I was in Las Vegas. Ordered BLT sandwiches it came with some really amazing french fries (chips to you guys). And my friends and I got two cheesecakes. We got the Oreo one which was really nice. And we also got the peanut butter cup one which was superb.
The original Cheesecake Factory is in Swiftwater, Pennsylvania that made the greatest cheesecakes in the world. It was one of the popular tourist sites when the Poconos in the height of its glory days as a popular camping or honeymooning areas. A group of businesses men visited the place and franchised the name, branded it and it became the restaurant we now know. The original “factory” is there and working as a roadside business still. I drive by it on my way to my friends home.
If you ever get to Honolulu, their Cheesecake Factory is delicious, too. If you’re lucky, you can get a table outside! It’s not quite as loud there, but every CF I’ve been to is loud and cold!!! Really enjoyed the video!
I LOVE Cheesecake Factory! You’re right Joel; the menu is HUGE!! If I had to be trapped in a restaurant for the rest of my life, that’s where I want to be!! (Maybe with better service!) But you can never get sick of the food!! 😂
Contrary to what you may believe the waitress has no ability to adjust the temperature of the restaurant and I doubt everyone in the restaurant hated it Americans tend to like the cold air and restaurants like it because people eat more in an air conditioned room.
There's a cheesecake factory in Virginia and it's absolutely amazing! I'm happy y'all enjoyed the food as much as me. Tho sadly because of the wait and price of the food, my family usually only goes for special occasions like birthdays. And because it's so pricey and the entrees are huge we normally just go it for what they're known for; the Cheesecake and a coffee. 😋❤️
Yum. My first time there I was expecting to see a huge glass wall where you can see a bunch of cheese cakes coming down conveyer belts and a bunch of chefs toiling away with mixing bowls and icing the cakes.
I love cheesecake factory. One of my favorite restaurants. One of my pet peeves is food not coming at the same time. Totally unacceptable to me! That place always had a wait to get in no matter what city it is. The cheesecake is to die for. Glad you enjoyed it!
It would never occur to me to decrease a tip based on room temperature. The server has no control over that. I have worked in multiple restaurants were the air controller is completely locked and only the management has a key. It's also possible that some people were complaining that they were too hot. The Room temperature is not the server's job.
Just a few pointers, when you order a slice of cheese cake at the Cheese Cake Factory order a small coffee with 1 creamer and 1 sugar it makes the cheese cake more enjoyable. When tipping you don't have to tip if the service is slow, bad food or bad waiter that' is up to the individual.
One of my very favorite restaurants!!! I’ve actually been to that Cheesecake Factory and the service was not good when I went. They can get away with giving bad service because the food is so good!! Lol🍰🤤
Love the Cheesecake Factory. It is always a long wait there but we don't mind because we take advantage of the long wait to look at their HUGE menu. Then we wander over to look at all the cheesecake available. Restaurants for some odd reason crank the AC. So do movie theaters. Always have a jacket or a sweater. If your service was not great your tip should reflect that. 15% seemed appropriate for the service.
It's good that you asked if they could turn down the A/C if everyone was shivering and not just yourselves, but just FYI, the restaurant staff often don't have the ability to change it. Many restaurants put a lock on the controls and only the owner has a key. Not even the manager can access it (unless when the manager is the owner). This varies of course, but in my experience it's common that the staff has no control over it.
Glad you liked it. good middle- of- the- road restaurant. Tend to be located at shopping malls. I cannot believe they did not bring out the main courses at the same time. Tragedy 😬
But I think they paid higher-end restaurant prices, Cheesecake Factory for two people should not cost you the better part of $80 when you factor in tip and taxes. When you get into $40 a person territory that normally is a very nice sit-down restaurant that is quiet and takes reservations ... often with some kind of entertainment as well.
@@hillcountryhick4639 I had to re-watch, but He says st 6:59 the bill was $58.71, I would expect the drinks to be included with the entrees like at most restaurants, but yes the desert was probably extra. Still sounds a bit steep, at cheap restaurants/diners we usually budget about $10 a piece and at Mid to kind of nice restaurants you should be able to eat for about $20 a piece. Unless you were getting top-of-the-line steak or lobster obviously, then you're lucky to get out of there under $100. But for just salmon and a sandwich and sharing a piece of cake... I'm sorry I can't justify the price. Not to mention the total after tip being right at about *$70* . I think that's a bit shocking, especially considering the Fantastic endless buffets that would probably be cheaper, wider variety, as much as you'd like to eat, and no need to tip (except optionally a couple dollars on the table if someone brings you your drinks). But I guess in their case the saving grace would be the positive pound to dollar conversion which makes it more affordable, for them anyway! :-)
I'M OBSESSED WITH YOUR GUYS' TRAVEL VIDEOS!!! LOVE THEM!! I wish there was a new video or teo every day!! 😄 Better than frickin tv lolol. I didn't know that restaurant had real food either! 😆 We don't have them here in my area in New England (northeast)
Lia, I totally related to you about the name! I always thought that this restaurant only served cheesecake and other cakes so I never went to it! Finally a friend told me that they have a full menu. I felt that their name is completely misleading! I hope you only tipped 15 percent as the service was way too slow! Maybe if you went at a time when they weren't so busy the service would be faster. Generally speaking, I would recommend that you stay away from chain restaurants in the US and patronize locally owned restaurants. Chain restaurants are the same all across America and are usually owned by huge corporations. Locally owned restaurants tend to serve fresher ingredients and often specialize in the cuisine of their region. Thanks for an enjoyable program! As always, take care and Happy Travels! ♥️🇬🇧🇺🇸 P.S. Have a great week Skinny Legends!
Great choice on the cheesecake, Joel! Too bad it was so cold. At least there weren’t icicles hanging off your noses. Although, that would have been entertaining in itself.
Joel & Lia Mmmmm...that’s always such a hard choice!! I love the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cheesecake, and the Caramel Pecan Turtle cheesecake. But the Salted Caramel cheesecake and the Key Lime Cheesecakes are excellent as well!! Luv Key Lime anything!
I heard once that restaurants (even school cafeterias) purposefully crank up the AC because the cold will make you want to eat more. Same thing goes for the supermarket, making you buy more food.
@@rnb8328 They also do it to discourage table loitering once the meal is finished. That way they can turn the table more often, increasing sales for the restaurant and hopefully more tips to the servers.
And the simple fact that half of the people are going to be too warm and the other half are going to be too cold, so you always err on being too cold ( especially in a desert climate) because they can always add a layer, but you don't want a restaurant full of people sweating, smelling up the restaurant and leaving residue on the furniture and attempting to take off clothes that they probably shouldn't in public, like their shoes which I have seen. So between the two evils, too cool is definitely the Preferred Choice. For restaurants particularly being too warm makes people less hungry and sleepy, and is going to add smells to the restaurant that's going to affect the taste of the food and frankly if it's not like a refrigerator a lot of people immediately would turn around and walk out. They have to battle heat coming out of the kitchen in the middle of a desert so they pour on the cold air thank goodness! Who wants their waiter dripping sweat in their food on the way to the table, are running around all night long and people tend not to think of the staff when they think of the temperature, the cooks in the waiters are working up a sweat, and often have to wear uncomfortable uniforms. Wear loose long sleeves that you can roll up and down which is a good idea in the Desert Sun anyway.
Is it funny to other Americans to hear them respond with “that’s okay” when someone says thank you? Usually when someone apologizes we say “that’s okay”.
@@JoseGonzalez-ez6vn Okay, boomer. We say "no problem" to assure you that you don't have to thank us because it's not a problem for us to help you. The first time I went to the Cheesecake factory I had a cheesecake meal. First, I had mango cheesecake as an appetizer, then I had coffee cheesecake for dinner and for dessert I had lemon cheesecake. O God, that lemon cheesecake was so tart.
When you said you ordered tea, I was worried they were going to bring you iced tea, which is black tea, I think, and unless you're in the South, is unsweetened. It started out years ago just selling and having cheese cake and beverages. Because of how successful it was they added more items as time went on. Now they have a full menu. So to change their name would effect their brand etc....
You were correct on the tip. While everything that went wrong is not the server's fault, you should have asked for the Manager as you were about to leave and explained why you were not completely satisfied. In any restaurant a manager can't correct problems if they don't hear about them, and no they don't always know what is going wrong.
I totally think that Cheesecake Factory should have a sample dessert plater, on the menu, which would be like a dozen little cubes of different cheese cakes, so you can try them - just a thought 🤔

Hard work!
but the kitchen is separate from the main dining room in most places right? am i missing something here?
I just wanted to say a huge thank you for all you two do. I was getting ready for a work trip to England with 3 days notice. I wanted to know some things about the culture before I went and I came across your Chanel. Your videos were super informative and actually helped me so much! For example the whole switching the power switch to use the outlets. Little things you discussed in your videos helped me tremendously and made my time easier in England. Just wanted to say thank you for making my time more enjoyable and travel friendly as an American. Much love to you!
Ira Rather I just went for a week
Tip when dining in the US: always, always wear long trousers and bring a jacket or sweater!
Yeah we really need to remember that!
We love our AC. It comes in handy when drinking 😂
Wendalyn I agree. I've had many dining experiences ruined because of shivering throughout the meal.
Goes double for going to see a movie.
I DIDN’T KNOW YOU COULD ORDER DOUBLE CREAM!!!!
You have just changed my future CF experiences. Thank you.
I believe that is a "lost in translation." Double cream does not mean twice the amount of whipped cream but a U.K. phrase for whipped cream, or what we call" Whipping cream. "
Thanx 4 telling them😁🙋
That made me hungry. You can ask for milk in restaurants for your tea. They will bring it in a tiny little pitcher.
Nice, I'm definitely doing that next time 👍
You tipped appropriately for the level of service you received. When the check was dropped I thought immediately that 15% would be correct, and later in the video you said that you tipped 15% . That's a sign that you've truly become Americanized.
Ah yay!!! We did a good job at deciding the tip then!!
I agree, don’t tip more than 15% if you’re waitress keeps running away from you.
Unless something specific happened, if you go out to eat you should leave ideally around 18%, 15% minimum
.
Service at Cheesecake factory is always slow.... but the food is so good.
Hi Joel & Lia! Ya 15% was good enough, you see for every one person who asked to lower the AC. Theres one saying "please turn up the AC!" So, they try their best to accommodate their guest, but all in all 15% was good enough! Fun video guys Thank You!
You two never disappoint. It's so much fun watching your reactions. Another great video!
Thank you Dorothy!! It was such a yummy video to make haha!
Y’all are so cute. I love your videos. What a cheerful and welcome break from all the chaos and whatnot in the world. 😊
Your Sunday videos always being me joy and help me cope with the work week starting tomorrow.

They call it the Cheesecake Factory because cheesecake is what they are most famous for
So glad you enjoyed the food, and so sorry you had to wait so long for it, especially Joel's!
That chicken salad sandwich is what I always order when I go there. It’s the best. Usually too full to have dessert after, but all the those choices are yummy.
The Cheesecake Factory Menu overwhelms me, and I never know what to order! The cheesecake is always delicious. Loving the California series!
It's HUGE!
Glenna Nelson fish 🐠 tacos!

When Brits eat here in America there are no calories.
😆😂🤣😂
Joke is the exception. He orders a DIET COKE!!!
Plus you would've burned them off by the time u leave the mall/get 2 the parking lot!!!😁
15% is a reasonable tip. 50% is insane. 20% is considered generous.
Prosecco comes in Frizzante (fewer bubbles which quickly subside) and Tranquillo (a still wine from the start) as well as Spumante as you like. Also ask for Dry which is sweetest of the three styles.
ahhh I see!!
Scuzzi.
Make that fizziness; dizziness ensues if I finish a Prosecco by myself.
I love The Cheesecake Factory! I read an article once that said a lot of restaurants keep it cold so people eat fast so they can leave, that way they get more customers. Whether that is true or not, but it does make sense.
One of my favorite places to eat! I love to bring people here for the first time. You will always find something good to eat.
yeah it's so yummy!!
Okay that's good to know! Thanks for the reassurance!
15% is typical
@@Jack_Stafford its always 1-2 hours at the Cheesecake Factory by me. Thats why I rarely go.
Calla Hensley I agree. There are 2 Cheesecake’s where I live and it’s always a minimum hour wait Friday through Sunday
Yeah, don’t go when you’re actually hungry, lol! 😅
Great Video!!! The Cheesecake Factory is my favorite restaurant... Lia, the Miso Salmon is one of my favorite dishes...Can’t wait to see more videos. Hope you both a great week ahead... ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️
The cheesecake and salmon looked so yummy, My favorite FoodTubers back at it again in LA!!! Waiting for Chick-Fil-A but then again it is Sunday...
HAHAH thanks Donnie! We could get used to this FoodTubing life! haha!
Hi, guys! I started watching your RUclips videos yesterday and I absolutely love them! I have some questions about RADA.
-Are the singing and dancing classes enough to become a professional musical theatre perfomer? What musicals did it do during your school career?
-Is it easy to find an agent after graduating? Do you recommend any agents?
-Does it have a lot of international students?
-Is it easy to get into Equity UK?
15% for poor service is a good tip! Nothing to apologize about
Excuse me, but displeasure with the ambient temperature of a Restaurant does NOT constitute 'poor service' .
Agreed
Jacqueline Marcs at the cheesecake factory the waitress/waiter has nothing to do when the food comes out. They aren’t the ones that deliver it.
Yeah we really need one here!!
as someone who gets cold easily, i've made a habit of taking a jacket or sweater with me when going out to eat or watch a movie.......just in case the air is turned down low
I agree that sometimes the air conditioning is overactive
Love!!!! My husband and I had Cheesecake Factory Cheesecakes for our wedding!!!! Worth every penny!!!!
I've always wondered what items on their menu have never been ordered because there are so. many. Joel's got me craving cheesecake now.
Yeah definitely! Must be some unpopular ones!
It seems like having such a large menu in such a popular place could be contributing to the long wait/bad service problem.
Yes, agree with this!
I didn't realize it's NOT just coats. lol
They used to sell just coats back in the day just like Cheesecake Factory used to sell just cheesecake.
I always bring a sweater when I go to a restaurant. They keep it cold for 2 reasons. One, it keeps you from hanging around after you're done eating so they can free up a table and the second reason is the wait staff gets hot from constant running around
“It’s colder than England in here” 🤣🤣
I've been to The Cheesecake Factory many times especially when it was busy but I've always got great service. I do hate the wait for a table sometimes but I guess it's a good thing because it lets you know that the food is good. I rather go into a crowded restaurant than an empty one.
Yeah I've never been able to just walk into a Cheesecake Factory sadly! But it's worth it!
Actually naming it Cheesecake Factory is genius marketing. A lot of people when dining out don't order dessert. But when you're at a Cheesecake Factory, you tell yourself you have to get a cheesecake.
So true!!
Although sometimes it's not the wait staff's fault it's the kitchens for the long wait but you should have called the manager over.🍰🥂🍽
If your in Vegas go to the Grand Lux Cafe order the Shrimp Scampi
Wait did y’all not get the famous BREAD ??? ITS THE BEST PART
I never thought of Cheesecake Factory bread as being famous (not like Olive Garden breadsticks, for instance), but you're right, their bread is delicious!
That’s Olive Garden
they sell cheesecake factory bread at certain grocery stores now!
just need to warm it in the oven.
You’re joking right?
I finally went to Cheesecake Factory for the first time last year while I was in Las Vegas. Ordered BLT sandwiches it came with some really amazing french fries (chips to you guys). And my friends and I got two cheesecakes. We got the Oreo one which was really nice. And we also got the peanut butter cup one which was superb.
I love the cheesecake from there! The menu is so large, so many choices!!
Same! SO good!
& I've had them ALL including the seasonal ones!!!🙈😅
The original Cheesecake Factory is in Swiftwater, Pennsylvania that made the greatest cheesecakes in the world. It was one of the popular tourist sites when the Poconos in the height of its glory days as a popular camping or honeymooning areas. A group of businesses men visited the place and franchised the name, branded it and it became the restaurant we now know. The original “factory” is there and working as a roadside business still.
I drive by it on my way to my friends home.
30 minutes isn’t that long a wait. I was at the Cheesecake Factory last week and waited 1hr 15min 😂😂
On a Friday or Saturday night there is consistently a 90-120 minute wait at ours.
It's massive isn't it!!
It's awesome there's a relatively large tea selection in an American restaurant.
I absolutely LOVE The Cheesecake Factory! I never go there and have bad food. Hun, expect deliciousness every time! And, there's so much variety.
Drink every time one of them says “triggered”.
UK Socialist Snowflakes simply cannot help it...
You have mastered tipping.!!! Thet grow up so fast.
hahahah!
LOVE Cheesecake Factory!! Avocado eggrolls, OMG!!!
Sometimes I just love them but other times they pick at the smallest things
So happy you went
One of my very favorite restaurants!!! I’ve actually been to that Cheesecake Factory and the service was not good when I went. They can get away with giving bad service because the food is so good!! Lol🍰🤤
Yeah to be honest, that cheesecake would bring me back regardless of their service haha!
Angela Keene it’s never NOT busy literally even around the holidays it’s still packed
The brown bread is to die for.
so yum! ❤️
Rebecca Marcus ohhh yessss I forgot how good that bread is
nom nom nom...so good. Ask for extra butter chips.
@karen may Good thought. Certainly the nicer restaurants could have it zoned if they wanted to though.
You keep eating all that good food and pretty soon your next video will be "BRITISH Try WEIGHT WATCHERS for the FIRST TIME!" :-D
I've never ordered a main course from cheesecake factory. I always just order the tamale cakes starter. It's big enough and it is delish!
@@Jack_Stafford I believe they said $54. 2 entrees, a dessert, 2 drinks....sounds reasonable
Thanks Michael! Which would you have chosen?
Joel & Lia Mmmmm...that’s always such a hard choice!! I love the Reese’s Peanut Butter Cheesecake, and the Caramel Pecan Turtle cheesecake. But the Salted Caramel cheesecake and the Key Lime Cheesecakes are excellent as well!! Luv Key Lime anything!
Most restaurants are cold it seems ! Cheesecake factory is good food, but a tad expensive. Glad you enjoyed it though!!
Great video, the food looks fantastic, I'm really happy you enjoyed it 👏
Is it funny to other Americans to hear them respond with “that’s okay” when someone says thank you? Usually when someone apologizes we say “that’s okay”.
Alex McCall. It's normal. It's usually because we don't feel like we should be thanked, like it wasn't a big deal to us.

@@JoseGonzalez-ez6vn Okay, boomer. We say "no problem" to assure you that you don't have to thank us because it's not a problem for us to help you. If you think that's rude, you're implying we should feel more entitled and *expect* gratitude for helping you, which is less humble than what we are saying.
In tthe South, it is almost cloyingly sweet. It's like the sweeter they make it the better, or so some people say.

You were correct on the tip. While everything that went wrong is not the server's fault, you should have asked for the Manager as you were about to leave and explained why you were not completely satisfied. In any restaurant a manager can't correct problems if they don't hear about them, and no they don't always know what is going wrong.
True! Next time we'll do that!
@Lucy! They probably weren't comped because the manager did not know Joel's food was late.
