I got my first taste of the Bee Gees at our City's local public swimming pool back in 67 or 68. I recall the SONGS, To Love Somebody, and Run to me, so well. It played over the loud speakers of this enormous pool area, and you could feel the sounds thru the cement. It was fresh, and so heartfelt, the way they sang. I love them to this day, and will till I am no longer here. Best group to ever hit the stage by the way. Their harmonizing and beautiful voices were heavenly to me.
Robin was so funny when he talked about a case, the judge and the jury. Hahaha! Mo looked so handsome singing "don't forget to remember me" with Barry.
There is something so special about the BeeGees! There has never been a sound (&looks) like them before & I haven't heard anything that even comes close,to this day. Andy as well.what a terrible shock! How I miss him! I think Barry & Andy looked So Much alike.Incredible! What beautiful talent they all were blessed with. Oh & did I mention their GOOD LOOKS?I think 1 of the many things that made them so unique is their adorable humility! Their music was clean and respectable. They are all true gentlemen in every sense of the word. There's not much of that in the world anymore, including their great sense of humor ! How would I have grown up without them? Oh and did I mention how good looking they all are? LOL What woman in her right mind wouldn't notice that? I really miss Mo, Robin & Andy. I am still waiting to meet Barry, who lives just around the corner from me. I better stop before I write another book. Thank you all for your beautiful contribution to our world! Much love!
Oh I love these interviews with the Bee Gees and the ones also with Andy Gibb. These guys are so much fun and so down to earth. I can imagine sitting talking with them and laughing the whole time. Their mother was right when she said in an interview that they just feed off of each other. Robin is so funny at the end asking the interviewer what time she got up, then asking if she and the male interviewer slept in the same bed! LOL The lady interviewer looked so sweet but so embarrassed.
They’re very honest about their split. Happens to so many groups. They grew so much after that split. Their music got even better. There’s not one song I don’t love. Love seeing interviews with them. So funny. They bounce off each other like naughty boys. Brotherly love at its finest. Xxx
So nice to see all three together, laughing and joking. Robin definitely talked more in the older interviews but became less talkative in later years. Not sure if it's because Barry talked more so the other two kept quiet. But I do enjoy it when the 3 are more engaged and actively answering the questions.
Barry siempre tomaba la palabra y no la soltaba. Los twins encontraban algún silencio donde meterse y podían decir algo.. 🥀Amazing interview with The Brothers Bee Gees! These Guys were way beyond their time in the music industry. With not knowing how to read music it's not hard to write by hearing how well you can hear the music inside your mind and pick up a guitar & understand how one play's it my Dad could listen to a song 1 time & play it on guitar left handed like Jimi Hendrix bass string on top and play a song. Que bonita y relajante entrevista . Tres grandes músicos conversando con naturalidad , equilibrio , contrapeso . Creando una sensación de agradable Armonía . Que tiempos aquellos donde imperaba la inteligencia y el buen gusto !! What a nice and relaxing interview. Three great musicians conversing with naturalness, balance, counterbalance. Creating a feeling of pleasant harmony. What a time when intelligence and good taste reigned!!
In Argentina there was a Great Tango Singer called Carlos Gardel, of French descent. He said that the Sounds/Music formed in his mind, he played it in his guitar; but before he would forget it, he had to call a close friend who was the Song Writer. Both died in the same plane crash.

Awesome! Mentioning my group from Philly: the Stylistics. Lead singer: Russell Thompkins, Jr. Another group mentioned (in another video interview) William Hart - the Defonics (Philly.) And Frankie Valli (Four Seasons - Newark, NJ) the Bee Gees took the falsetto to another level. Robin is funny, but very serious about the group, each brother.
This is the year Robin bought Prebendal, Oxford where he stayed till his passing. The interview is full of insight. They learned early about fair weather friends. Barry was cheesed off by Anne's comments so was a bit reserved. Until Peter piped up and said BeeGees were THE best. Then Barry became very honest about their difficulties. I feel every interview they did, the interviewer made snide comments which made them defensive. If they had respected them more they would have given so much more insight into their experiences.
Barry views himself as a lion. He’s very in tune and very accurate. The other two’s characters fit, too. 🤣 A lion is noble, big, strong, and impressively beautiful, and has impressively great hair, too. Lions also have mighty roars and rule the land. Fits Barry well. The other two, the dog and the buck-toothed, slick-haired beaver are beholden to the lion.
How Can You Mend a Broken Heart was released in 1971 and Lonely Days in 1970. So what Barry said about not getting a hit record between 1970 and 1975 was not completely true. How Can You Mend a Broken Heart was the Bee Gees first number 1 hit single in the United States.

I noticed that Robin is always getting interrupted in interviews. I wanted to hear the rest of what he was saying but Barry started talking & thn the interviewers and the other guy jumped in w/ their thoughts. Not trying to put blame on Barry though. I've seen this in solo interviews as well, where the interviewer will go to the next question while Robin's in the middle of a sentence. I find it annoying.
me too he is used to being the "dad" of the group I think, and has a patriarchal demeanor and is very articulate, they all are actually, and he does not realize how he overrides the others ... probably sees it now and shudders ... it must have been a serious point of contention even if only subconscious and not full out competitiveness, but that too.
Yeah... Robin doesn't talk very much in interviews, but when he does everyone interupt him! I like all of them and I hate blaming Barry, but it's true he was overshadowing Robin. That's why they were competitive anyway.
@@ooohlaa13 True and natural... the older brothers place. They said that Barry was the one who actually started the whole idea of starting a band (being 9 and the twins 6y old)...that he wrote their first songs...push them to make an oath to stop doing "mischiefs" (they were very problematic as kids dealing with police often). He allways had this feeling of responsability and they had that respect for him. They said that he was allways 100% sure of a success ...and Robin allways doubtful.. afraid...Mo easy going. .. And...they were brought in that old way. When you explore Gibb familly through the intervies.....Barry seems to be quite a character. Their mother said that when they were touring as children, father was driving them and watching over, mother had to iron all the shirts because "Barry would not let me give it to the pressing"...you can find young star Barry talking about "all this is illusion, the only thing real is familly" ... his 27 y old wife saying that he moved her parents to live in Miami next to them as well as his parents and ...of course ...the brothers were also living in the neighborhood. He seems to have that inner power that kept them from loosing themselves into drugs and unhealthy solutions of dealing with problems. Because twins...well...Mo had a faiblesse for alcohol. ..Robin faiblesse for women... and Barry...for his Linda
@@strukled8590 yes and so much more, they all had uncommon natural raw intelligence that comes from not being school "indoctrinated" and would have wonderful takes on things .. wish I heard more from them. I have searched out every video I could find and each time I watch I note something else. Barry adds in the spiritual dimension way back when, referencing the healer Edgar Cayce and I think Krishnamurti or some other Indian gurus, and he is quite mystical so you can hear this otherworldly sound coming through ... enchanting because the harmonies and musical composition was like coming through a portal from another unnameable dimension. Their appreciators/followers/fans seem to have that same unique vibration at least in their comments. The world today needs the influence of that kind of innocence and purity thru music. In many ways they were way ahead of their times and now we mourn that entity called the Bee Gees. To me their music is sacred because it covers the whole spectrum of being human from fears of loss of love, to loving, to devotion and to the higher realms of spirit. It speaks to the whole person.
@@ooohlaa13 Wow! Thank you so much for taking it on the higher level Barbara! You actually used sentences that I use when talking about them. (Sometimes I say "it ought a be illegal not to be like Barry Gibb" :)) Rediscovering them recently, was like finding my people. And can't get enough of this energy! Pure love in everything about them...even when you can see them being crossed with eachother or at the journalist. How refined never dtraying from their loving nature! What role models! As well, I was thinking the same thing about them not being scolarised in the standardised way. That together with being brought up with lot of love and no money made them so in touch with the true values. And that sense kept them grounded throughout all those highs and lows.....humble and respectful. That spirit comes out in their lyrics...and they were very well aware about the messages and special social context of their songs (found a interview) We definitely need that energy today. This world was and would be a much healthier place when the people were openly loving their work and didn't have a special shows dedicated to mocking BeeGees (not to mention the spiritual and all thd other qualities (except visual and quick mouth) of those who mock them). So tired of bad quality and fake-ism...not to mention the real mental cases!
I love all of them. I think Robin is adorable.

Know I know why their songs so clean pure and romantic, their humble sweet boys. That's why we don't have that kind in this time, celebrities know so complicated sex addict and crazy for attention
Wowww!! Very nice story.
I love the Gibb brother
In Argentina there was a Great Tango Singer called Carlos Gardel, of French descent. He said that the Sounds/Music formed in his mind, he played it in his guitar; but before he would forget it, he had to call a close friend who was the Song Writer. Both died in the same plane crash.
13:17 Robin one-liner punch is killer as always.
And aren't they iresistably cute in 14:09
@@juanita6479 - Robin looked great here and very relaxed. If he was comfortable he spoke more and allowed his humor to come to the surface.
@@juanita6479 - True. Sad anniversary in a way. I was born the same year. Robin DESERVED to be proud. He was the best.
They were great before Saturday Night Fever I’ve been in love with them since the 60’s❤️🌹✝️👍🏻
Love em.
Barry has his mums eyes .... so sweet
Thank you for sharing this video. I sincerely appreciate very much. Greetings from Texas USA Linda
Awesome! Mentioning my group from Philly: the Stylistics.
Lead singer: Russell Thompkins, Jr. Another group mentioned (in another video interview) William Hart - the Defonics (Philly.)
And Frankie Valli (Four Seasons - Newark, NJ) the Bee Gees took the falsetto to another level. Robin is funny, but very serious about the group, each brother.
Q HERMOSOS!!
Oh, my darling r & b balladeer,Robin🥰🎶🐦
Should have let Robin and Maurice talk more. Love them RIP. Robin was my favorite. Love his voice
I like Robin too he's a good singer 😩😪😢😍☺️🤧👍🏻 and I like his brothers and his Sister and parents
I find Robing and Mau fans so annoying, always telling Barry to shut up. You all sound childish.
No, Barry, go on being your awesome self.
lindosssssss
Xć
This is the year Robin bought Prebendal, Oxford where he stayed till his passing.
The interview is full of insight. They learned early about fair weather friends.
Barry was cheesed off by Anne's comments so was a bit reserved. Until Peter piped up and said BeeGees were THE best. Then Barry became very honest about their difficulties.
I feel every interview they did, the interviewer made snide comments which made them defensive. If they had respected them more they would have given so much more insight into their experiences.
Great!!!
Just working and getting tired but I have my blessings.
It's an album.!
Lol😂
Loved your take! Barry the beautiful majestic lion. Mo the sweet lovable loyal dog. And Robin the adorable quirky comic beaver. Love it!
How Can You Mend a Broken Heart was released in 1971 and Lonely Days in 1970. So what Barry said about not getting a hit record between 1970 and 1975 was not completely true. How Can You Mend a Broken Heart was the Bee Gees first number 1 hit single in the United States.
Queen went through the same type of thing. Broke up then got back together. Thank God!

That girl reminds me of Dianna. She's cute.
Yes she is.
Well, apart from the fact that she's brunette, has a completely different hair style and voice - spitting image :)
I wonder if I can find that book I hope I think it was written by you guys called the legend I’m gonna go to the bookstore and see if I can find that
I didn't realise how much Anne Diamond was like Princess Di
11:36
Maurice: I couldn’t believe the hairy guy on the left was me!
Barry: *looks over at Mo’s bald head*
Maurice: WATCH IT.
🤣
Eu não suporto a idéia de não ver os beegees, porque não tem jeito.
❤❤❤
12:45 to 12:56 Robbin looks pissed at Barry dominating the Interview.😮
No he doesn’t. That’s all in your head. As is Barry dominating the conversation.
@@BGWhispererThe mentality of Robin's minions began a couple yrs ago, & it never ends.😡🤬
3:51 "Rocky in leg warmers"
Anne Diamond, so hot in the day.
Anyone know when I could purchase the book "The Legend" that they were talking about here that talks about their upbringing? Looks funny!
Check Amazon
I love Robin but WHO ON EARTH STYLED HIS HAIR?
His hair was always a bit wonky, bless his heart. :))
You mean you listened to an amazing interview and all you focused on was Robin's hair? I think you missed out on a lot.
It was the 80’s, his hair was very much on trend, and he looked fabulous!
@@PerepetespalI dis too. He is so fascinating to watch.
💞💖😍❤️🎉
(Sometimes I say "it ought a be illegal not to be like Barry Gibb" :))
Rediscovering them recently, was like finding my people.
That spirit comes out in their lyrics...and they were very well aware about the messages and special social context of their songs (found a interview)
We definitely need that energy today.
Barry looks like Andy here.
Barry looks absolutely gorgeous!❤️🔥🔥❤️🔥
