Wow, all I can say is WOW!!!! I have been holding out on buying locking pliers as I am not interested in the overseas made irwin vise grips. And I just couldn't quite bring myself to buying a competitive brand from europe. I have been buying used from flea markets and pawn shops for way too long. @@ClientGraphics I got mine today. I immediately did a side by side against my ? mid 1980's Petersons.
The Malco's needed a touch of lube out of the box. a drop of lite oil on the pivots, and a lite touch of Lucas Red N Tacky on the threads of the adjustment screw.
(To be fair, the Irwins have had 40 years to get buttery smooth though)
The teeth on the Malco's are nice and sharp.
The malco's are a touch heavier, but that's fine.
The finish on the Malco's is beautiful, and actually seems better than what the original finish on the Irwins was.

I was bummed when they were first offered from Snapon for like $80.
I almost ordered a pair, but I knew Malco would roll out the standard production soon enough.
I didn't think they would do much besides open up the old Peterson factory and reintroduce the original pliers, but I'm glad that they actually made some real improvements.

Went to the website filled out an information form. How.do I buy these? I've been using Malco tools for over 20 years and still am using the same tools i bought over 20 years ago for sheet metal and rain gutter. High quality that lasts!

I learned years ago different companies are the best at making certain things like Milwaukee for power tools knipex for pliers snap-on or arguably a few German companies for ratchets sockets and wrenches..

Irwin use to be the best whenever it came to making vise grips but Malco is now since Irwin no longer makes vise grips in the USA.
