I don't know what's more impressive, him solving the puzzle or him keying in the numbers that quickly. 🙈🙉🙊

the "hard" puzzle wasn't hard, it was the easy puzzle but bigger. the combinations are still very straightforward. i'd be interested to see realtime solving of something like the expert level on kakuroconquest.

    That guy was impressive.
I thought I was fast at Kakuro. The easy puzzle took me 2:30, and the hard 8:00.

It takes a lot of practice to get super fast. I average about 5 min on a larger expert puzzle (I think it's a '9×17' on the website I use) It really is all about remembering the locked patterns. It blows my mind how much of the more open patterns he gets as quickly as he does though, as I still need minor notation for those.

@@xnisfuzzy I'm pretty sure I know which site you're talking about and on 9x17 expert mode my record is 1 minute and 12 seconds and on average i get 1 min and 51 seconds

00:46 in an easy 8*8 Kakuro puzzle is also my best time. It’s been my favorite puzzle for a year or two.

Is this the same Jason that's currently crushing it on Jeopardy right now?

The "hard" puzzle is just a little harder than the easy puzzle. Compare it to the puzzles in the Belt books or the Nasty books.

Yeah, almost every entry in the second puzzle is incredibly restricted. I'd love to see a Kakuro god work on a deeper puzzle.

I may have to watch again and turn the speed down so I can almost keep up ;o)

@@mars_over I started using kakuroconquest.com. It's not the same site, but it has multiple levels and it saves all your clear times and averages them for each level.
