I bought my house 25 years ago when I first migrated to the United States and I've done two major renovations. It now looks like a new house. Keep pushing. Don't sell until you line up something else. One day soon you gonna finish and then the sky will be the limit. You'll have a house with NO mortgage. Keep pushing my friend.

I understand your frustrations my hubby and i are building in Portland and face these same challenges too, we need about $15-20,000US to finish our house and it's slow coming especially with the pandemic hitting. We no longer send money to contractors to do the work. My hubby has done alot of the work himself he or i alternate going to Jamaica buy material and while we are there we have the house worked on little at a time in May we decked the kitchen when we forward in December we doing foundation for the next bedroom and bathroom we both will be there a month so whatever gets done in that month we do it until we forward again this way we control the money and is there to oversee the contractors. We have a bedroom and bathroom finished and the kitchen partially finished so we stay at the house and gwaan do little at a time. We've been robbed by family almost $8,000US wich would have brought the house further than it is now but you live and you learn. Don't give up your house is looking good, keep the faith . I suggest you buy and renovate when you are there. These horror stories are all over the island. Or hire a professional contractor to build your home. It might cost more but eliminate the headache and robbery.
Can identify with your experience, I have to put my project on pause due to some of the issues you were facing, you want to get the expenses out of the way and pay people and they end up short changing you and it appears you have to be paying twice for the same job.

Why didn't you hire a legit developer to build you house? You cant trust Jamaican people to build your house unless you are there to oversee it because, they will spend your money and build up fi them house.

And i said to myself, it would suit me to buy a piece of land and build me own house. Then i came on RUclips and buckup your channel. Who could it be but GOD.
