My brother had a Huntsman spider living in his car and one day it crawled onto him, unprovoked, while he was driving and gave him a fierce bite. The site became a mountainous swelling. It was excruciating. He used to be live and let live with spiders, not so much anymore.
I’d like to know where it was when he got into the car the day it but him. Maybe he was sitting on it or it got stuck and bit him. Never have I witness huntsmen biting unprovoked . They’d rather run than attack unless they can’t run they attack.
Yeah, he didn't realise it, but he somehow did antagonise that huntsman. I deliberate try to keep them around, if there's a couple of healthy huntsman spiders in my abode, there's not going to be many other creepy crawlies around.
I've been recovering from surgery and found your you tube channel. Thank you so much!!! Really fun and informative! Best you tube hole I've fallen down!
When I was a kid (1950s) I read that emus can disembowel kangaroos and dogs. One time my family picknicked at Tidbinbilla. An emu or two raided someone else's esky. The family mad shooing sounds and waved hands, but sensibly kept their distance. We kept our esky closed.
I got bitten by a spider a few years back. I thought it was a huntsman. My mate thought it was a wolf spider. It was a bit hard to tell as id accidently squashed the poor thing. The reason it bit me no doubt. It was slightly painful and i got a bit vague and spaced out . After about 10 minutes i jumped back on the tools. Huntsman spider are awesome and i normal just pick them up when relocating them. I dont blame the poor little bugger for biting me. I did feel bad about squishing him/her.
Love your videos! Thanks for telling us all about animals we may never come in contact with! If you haven't done so already please doa video about harpy eagles and tamarins... and. birds of paradise. Thanks!
Hi. Love your crazy smart sense if humour! Could you make the videos if the animals larger so we can get a better look at them? I could hardly see little agro wombat or especially Emu was impossible to see. Could the animal videos be screen size & you talking be up in one corner, about the size if what the animal videos are at the moment please... It'd make it so much more interesting to view. Thank you & well done;)
Don't forget, human Australians lost an all out war against emus. Yeah. The humans, with ammunition, lost the war against large flightless birds. Better hope Cassowarries don't hear about that. Humans would get run off the continent.
I remember taking out a left over pizza tray out of a cool oven in preparation to cook my dinner. I was in the process of carrying it over to the bench when this huge Huntsman hugged my hand from underneath the tray! I dropped the tray abruptly and it unfortunately got crushed when it made contact with the floor. Then there was the time out in peach trees camp ground within the communal showers: A big one was on the ledge in my shower watching me bathe.. If it had jumped..? I would have drowned it no doubt... Keep ya 8+ eyes and legs to yaself mate! Another one somehow made their way inside, into my room.. onto my bedside table.. right near my glasses... Woke up.. went to reach for them.. got a spider crawling into my bedsheets instead! Nah... A solid pass on that happening again.. The most recent was when I was trying to grab something from under the laundry sink. (It was mortein for cockroaches.. as we have em crawling up through our drains..) A huge one jumped out and crawled over my leg! I sprayed more of the floor that it in the end! My dog thought I was being murdered! Haha! Speaking of which my Dalmatian somehow managed to eat one. (a little one.) But god I was scared she got bitten! They may not be really deadly... and yes.. Lucky I haven't been bitten... but they can bugger off outside and stay there. I have a healthy respect for them... but nah... I ain't keen on sharing my closeness with em. ever. ~
@uselessfarm 's account has Karen, the eternally pissed off emu 😅❤....and someone pointed out that the whomping sounds like farting into a Pringles can 😂😂😂 That's all I hear now.
Ann Jones has got to be the most annoying abc presenter. Why does she have to dumb down everything? I think Playschool is the only place for her on the abc.
Actually, l don't think she's dumbing anything down. I love animal docos and watch every one l can find and, trust me, I've seen some shockers - wrong terminology, attributing human motives to behaviour, made up "facts" etc. Ann does none of that and l think she strikes a great balance between facts and humour and keeping it interesting. Television viewers have changed, what we expect to see on our screens and how we want it presented has evolved, we've become accustomed to getting our information in bites and often don't have the attention spans of old. Programmes have had move with the times. I'd prefer that people learned about the creatures in our world from "dumbed down" videos than not at all.
@@nikiTricoteuse speak for yourself there Niki. That's probably fine for children but I think they're underestimating our intelligence and attention span.
Hey, thanks for watching. Check out the full series of vids here 👉 ab.co/38ytwFt
1:05 I'm sorry, Dr, Jones, you're wrong. A wombat's PRIMARY weapon is its deceptive cuteness.

The huntsman got tired of this guy stealing and driving his house around town 😂

Wombat used Tackle. It was super effective!
I think Dr. Ann needs to meet Clint @ Clint's Reptiles. The "wobobobo" made me instantly think of him describing things. 🤣
And Kamp Kenan so she can meet Slinky!
Dr ann i love your vids i could listen to you all day your voice is so soothing. Xxx
Just love your videos... informative and fun!!😊👍
Enjoyed this. One tough little wombat there.
The wombat - just take the hint and leave the little guy alone! This whole video: "Humans forgetting that they are part of the food chain".
OK ladies, raise your hand if you have a huge girl crush on Dr. Jones! 🖐🏿
Love your videos ... very informative and, with your reactions, very funny. As someone who snorts when I laugh, I love your little snorts!

Dr. Ann is just lovely. Her reactions are so pure and her knowledge is top notch.
Maybe for playschool.

Maybe do your Dino bird the Cassowary.
Absolutely. I'd love to see her talking about Cassowary.
What an unusual and beautiful color for a wombat!
Fun fact: wombats can run faster than the fastest human alive.
How short legs
I fukn got robbed by a kangaroo at old sydney town back in the day aye. True story, still got the scar on my eyebrow down to my nose.
I absolutely love this woman!
So Emu's basically drop the bass as their language? lol. The dubstep bird
i would love more information on endangered species please Red Pandas are my fav and are they aggressive
?
Thanks for the suggestion!
i would love to see an extensive video on the cassowary. they are just... so aggressive and kinda surreal. like a psychedelic emu who took bath salts.
that satisfied waddle as the wombat walks off. So cute.

Hi there, thanks for the feedback! 👍
Kangaroos are our first kickboxers 😮😊
Dr. Jones is cool.
The Emu sounds like a raptor from jurassic world
She is so funny. Her facial expressions are very comic.
I mean come on Wombats are adorable even when they’re being mean 😍😂
It would nice to see some more of these or this charasmatic young lady to have her own channel
Hello! There's plenty of Dr Ann Jones videos on ABC Science. Here a start: ab.co/2FZBWvI Enjoy!
Yes. Definitely. What’s wrong with you ABC? Get cracking.
Omg im crying bc of the dog
We had emus when i eas a kid, in Vermont. Why a bunch of folks from Vermont decided to get emus oll never know. The meanest birds I've ever met
Where’s the swamp man when you need him?
Those Kangaroos look like they're on steroids. 😂😂💪🦘
Remember "Rod & Emu" anyone??
Poor guy what ya do to the emu? Bad mouth liberty mutual? 🤣
She must know, Australia lost the Emu war...
Mortal Wombat..
I love how the lady interviewing her is like "is whomping a technical term" other lady laughs it off.
Let's throw these hands
