Every song I've made with AI I've written my lyrics from scratch, its just the voice and beat I'm using. Can I still make a channel using that? I would hope so
Probably depends on the term of service of the service you used to generate those. Suno for example gives you a full commercial license if you pay, but not for free and not retroactively for songs you generated before you paid.
You don't. If you read the T&C's of most AI Audio services you'll find that they reserve some rights, but more critically, there is no legal "Act of Authorship" to legitimise an IP claim. Which is reasonable if you're talking about natural language prompt based music generation ONLY. If you just render one element then it's basically Sampling.
@@djvarangian I don't understand, if you take a paid version of Suno like Pro Plan or Premier Plan, you're supposed to be able to put your music on Spotify for example to sell it. I've read that in several places and that's what I understood when I read the Suno terms. Is this wrong?
@@Logan-it6kc Suno T&C says their service may produce material that violates copyright. I take this to mean if your suno created song contains some identifiable piece of a copyrighted song, you shouldn't be putting it out there. But if not, where's the problem? My sweet lord, we know that would never happen. So the onus is on you. Which is suno backwards.
@@Logan-it6kc No, you can put music on Spotify that you don't have EXCLUSIVE rights to - for example if you've ever used a Splice or LoopCloud sample, that content is licensed to the artist who releases the track but they can't claim Authorship, they have no IP claim. They're LICENSED to DISTRIBUTE. If you tried to Sync license it would be rejected because of the Sample. It's also unthethical & illegal to submit something you've licensed to RUclips content ID. Yet people still do it. I'd read the Terms & Conditions very, very carefully, several times over. @@getkraken8064 Absolutely, I agree. Unfortunately the education of users is lagging behind the legalities, which are lagging behind the technology. It's a potential disaster. RUclips Music premium users may indeed get access to the higher quality 256 kbps version, while standard RUclips might serve the 192 kbps version to most users
RUclips already implemented an AI policy and channels get demonitized all the time even non ai channels. However if you have a "what if" mindset then I guess nothing will ever get accomplished.
