If we catch a lot we make BIG batches of ceviche and give away baggies to our friends. but we never throw them back ;) to know- the secret ingredient in ceviche is capers ;) We learned that from the annual Poco Bueno tournament in Pt.O'Connor. their Ceviche contest every year. Smacks also make great fish tacos = grilled ;)

Matt, do yourself a huge favor and switch over to single hooks on your casting jigs. I’ve found my hookup rate is higher and a lot easier to release w/o tearing their mouths.
Did you take only one rod and reel out there with you on this trip? If so, was it a particular piece of equipment that you decided to use because of what you were targeting? Or was it just something that you like to have with you that is tried and true, that sort of thing? I'm just trying to figure out what I would take with me if I went beach fishing and tried it out on my own sometime. What would be something basic or something maybe tried and true that you could give me a piece of advice on as far as taking with me. I'm not going to have four or five different 12 ft long rods with me and PVC. I might not even have a beach cart. I want to know what I can take that is the littlest amount with me, but still have enough to get the job done? Thanks anything you can help me out with I appreciate. normally ill just get a light or med action rod with 15 lb braid and a little spoon and you can usually catch almost anything that bites except maybe big jacks and tarpon

I've pretty much got what you all said, but I'm always hearing that I need to have a 3000 or bigger for a reel, and quite frankly I'm not sure what sizes I have. I do know that I have two old ones that were sold as ocean fishing gear, probably some 10 to 15 years ago, at least, and I've used them a few times and know that they should be okay. But all I really have for the most part is bass fishing equipment. All the other stuff you say sounds like I could get away with just walking up and down the beach trying for what I can get. That sounds like a dream to me! That's all I really need to know. Appreciate it bro thanks! God bless
@danaparks8812 i mean bigger equipment will help you land bigger fish, but skill plays a large role. I saw some guy yesterday land an 8 foot spinner shark on 20 lb test mono and 50 lb mono leader. For most of the fish you’ll catch this way, you should be able to handle it on a 2000-3000 size reel, but if you expect bigger you can always go bigger.
Whats the weight on that long rod and heavy penn lol. I use a 7'4 Cashion mh inshore rod with a Van staal vr51 on one set up and a St. Croix 7' mh avid inshore rod paired with a visser #4. Both are light set ups. Good fishing!
It’s called surf fishing. Short rods fishing the beach with surf is the quickest way to tell everyone down there you’re not sure of what you’re doing lol
Excellent video, thank you. Could you share some details on your set up? How long is your 50 lb leader and what kind of knot do you use attaching to braid? Are you using a simple loop knot to the lure? I use a very long leader mostly to prevent slicing off my finger . Are you doing the same? Thank you! (Bummy Stick is awesome by the way).
I don't get it you started off as a good RUclips channel to watch and now you along with your other fishing buddies do nothing but clickbait titles and clickbait thumbnails. Smh. Do you think your 145k subscribers wouldn't watch if you put an accurate title for the video?
I spent a week at the NC coast surf fishing and it was terrible. Not one Pmpano and only three whiting the entire week. I did catch a nice large Bonnet Head Shark nut that was it. The fish were gone! You are so lucky to live where you do with so much marine life around. I truly think that the NC coast has been destroyed as the fish we caught twenty years ago no longer exist here. It is so sad. Flounder fishing for this entire year has been shut down completely. I collect vintage saltwater spinning reels and took 19 reels and 14 rods to the beach with me. I hardly used a fourth of what I took with me. I wish you could see my reel collection,]. I have over 385 vintage reels that you would not believe. Rigs. Boats it’s generally frowned upon and kind of a rude thing to do unless you’re using a spotlight only momentarily (say for instance it’s hard to see a channel marker you’re trying to avoid or stay between) people don’t realize it’s better to let their eyes adjust and use your eyes you won’t need a blinding spotlight. Or you could be rich and use radar lol. but yeah those are rigs there’s I think 16 rigs in the gulf right outside mobile bay from dauphin island to gulf shores
Was that in fort Morgan area? Was down last week had fun fishing that area saw big jacks busting in that area to. Staff at beach bum outdoors on the 9th in morning were great. Guy running register help me with info on what they were biting on and I caught a couple nice pomps. Great vid as always!

@@naesyelmuhc7698 if you want to fish the point at fort Morgan go all the way down and there is parking at the pier/boat ramp and there is an access point to the beach. If you want to go to the beach and have fun or tan, there is a small parking lot right before the Fort that you can park at (on the weekend it fills up really fast).

if you can get even 200 yds of 15 lb braid on a reel then you should be perfectly fine.

What are easy access/lesser populated beaches in the pensacola to orange beach area? In October.
